  • Possibly the best version of anything I have ever heard. Before Cream nobody played like this.

  • Jack is just fucking incredible here, grossly underrated musician.

  • @beatlemaniac1966 none of these dude´s is underrated

  • @kimmedavid I beg to differ, maybe not Ginger or Eric, but how many times do you see Jack in a top bassists or vocalists list? Not very often.

  • This looks like a dress rehersal from their performance on the Smothers Brothers TV show

  • that has many ballls to play!!!

  • Finally, a good song. FUCK EMINEM.

  • @ToughSerb147 dude, i don't like rap or hip hop, but eminem has had a rough life full of drug addiction, death and distrust. i don't like his music, but i respect him as a person, which is what i do for eveyone, despite their taste in music. Also i'm wondering why you brought eminem in your comment in the first place, he has NOTHING to do with cream :')

  • they were gods among men.

  • The bass defines this song

  • How do I get an mp3 version of this?

  • OMFG , what a hell of a music in this video,i had an eargasm, whata mazing performance was made by those guys, everytime i listen this music i start singing along with it

    Spoonful ,Spoonful, AaaHHHhhhhhhhHH... Yeah.

  • Good music, Camera work sucks though.

  • JACK BRUCE.

    'Nuff said.

  • Wow, the solo takes you right to the edge, dangles you over by the ankles and just when you think you're gonna fall, BOOM, they bring it right back to the groove and on with the song!!!

  • Great stuff!!!

  • Ahh, sweet CREAM, the cream always floats to the TOP! Long live ROCK!!

  • I want his hat

  • what is that sound at 1:30? can anyone tell me how to do that, it's so perfectly discordant!

  • @secretagentYTer

Amazing. It came from Clapton without doubt. I wonder if he remembers how he did it?

  • Oh my god Eric. DO ME.

  • Awesome

  • One of the amazing things about this is that there is no audience. I mean, this is what you'd expect a band to look like playing in front of 50,000 screaming fans. 50,000, 500,000, or 1 - it doesn't matter; these guys will rock the fucking roof off any time of any day with their souls alone.

  • @aimson Well between the three of them, they got a hell of a lot of soul to go around ;)

  • This is it.

  • damn, jack was so hot before. xDD

  • @dylster21502 ... you are a victim of modern society, where people need to look a certain way to be good musicians.... this has caused a sharp decline in the quality of musicians whom are now prominent. The music is the important thing; not how someone happens to look to you. Just sayin'.

  • @beelzabubba dude u r a fucking moron. obviously i fuckin like cream and baker is one of my favorite fucking drummers u peice of shit. im not a "victim of modern society" u dumbass. i dont give a fuck wat u look like as long as u sound good. yea i sed he looks fuckin ugly so fuckin wat? i aint the best lookin guy but i think i sound alright on the drums. dude u need to do me and the world a favor and fuck off.

  • dear theasz, please post at least some information from the video that would lead us to the source... wich is the year? place? ocasion?... and thanks for the amazing piece!

  • who am i supposed to listen?

  • To the 12 dislikes...fu

  • FANTASTIC!!

Dark blues, with dynamics, gloomy atmosphere. This is what it's all about.

  • Being a bassist/singer, I can firmly say, Jack Bruce is a huge inspiration.

  • For real, this is my favorite phase of Clapton as a guitarist.

  • Hah, I just had a funny thought...Claptons SG was painted by a pair of dutch artists who called themselves 'The Fool', so the guitar was nicknamed 'The Fool'. Although he's no joker, this is Clapton playing 'The Fool'...that's too cool!

  • The best thing Clapton ever was a part of...

  • You've Gotta Hear This

    wolfgangsvault.c o m/cream/concerts/oakland-coliseum-arena-october-04-1968.h t m l

    ITS FUCKIN' INSANE

  • gingers snare sound is a clean snap, like a bone breaking...best snare sound ive heard ever...im a thub thumper so i know what im waffling on about..

  • I'd like a spoonful of Cream if y'know what I mean.

  • uhh. something is running down my inner leg!!!!

  • Meaty, Beaty, Big and Ballsy

  • what does ginger say at 5:54?

  • What a style, what a technic, what a majesty! I'm astonished.......

  • Shortly after this was filmed, Ginger started levitating and bending time.

  • Greatest trio ever!! Each one a virtuoso

  • che robaaaaa!! Cream at their apex... I've original LP "This wheels on Fire" bought in '68.. Who else?

  • Ginger giving it a bit of what for there.

  • gah, why can't the cameraman stay on Clapton more, grr.

  • To both "davidson2004fatboy" and "SneakyOstrich" , enough already enjoy the music and do your fighting somewhere else .

  • @Warthog5050 Warthog5050, your absolutely right! Probably the most intelligent post on here, thanks!!!

  • @davidson2004fatboy wow man a guitar, bass, mandolin, and harp are all completely different instruments.

  • Just a little spoon of Cream again...

    Will satisfy my soul

  • Like i said earlier FUCK-FACE i will NEVER learn a thing from you. I stand buy my original answer, Jack Bruce. You can keep this going as long as need be, you started it and i'll finish it. So if you want to be the Einstein you claim, grow up and stop acting like a child and quit responding to my posts !!!

  • Impro on the edge, can't get any better...

  • Grata música . Excelente para soñar y despertar a la vez. Clapton en CHILE MIERDA............

  • ginger is fuc. painter..:)

  • Can somebody tell me who's that guitarist? ..please

  • @reconfreshpapa Jack Bruce

  • @davidson2004fatboy Jack Bruce plays the bass you dumbass!

  • @SneakyOstrich The instrument Jack Bruce is playing, IS IT NOT called a GUITAR ? Or maybe you might call it a MANDOLIN or maybe even a HARP!!! You FUCK-STICK ( OP ) he didn't ask if it was the LEAD guitar or the BASS guitar did he, GIVE YOUR FUCKED UP HEAD A SHAKE!!! Computer tough guy!!!

  • @davidson2004fatboy If he would have wanted to hear jack bruce he would have asked for the bass player. When someone says guitar they mean the guitar, not the bass guitar. Im glad you learnt something today.

  • @SneakyOstrich Sorry to pop your BUBBLE " TURKEY " ! But no, i didn't learn anything from your comment and never will learn anything from a TURKEY!!!

  • @davidson2004fatboy Dont know what you mean with turkey, if you are referring to my name... an ostrich isnt the same thing. Just adding dumb names that doesn't relate to anything just makes you seem desperate. Point is though, jack bruce plays the bass, clapton plays guitar.

  • 12 people spoons aren't full

  • Love you guy's!!! God bless you Ginger, Jack and Eric for all the great music you gave us. A true BLESSING for all of us!!!

  • the good old time

  • GINGER IS BAKED!!!

  • The world will never hear something like that again. Music which comes from the heart and soul is dying out!

  • Somethin between an earthquake and an angry god. A god with a badass hat

  • I would lov to see the ritual Eric and Jack had to do to awaken Ginger from the dead to play a gig

  • @9inchNirvana hahahahahahaha!!!! iv never laughed so hard at something on youtube!!!

  • @9inchNirvana Don't scare me man, Ginger is alive!

  • @9inchNirvana I'm pretty sure Ginger Baker is still alive.

  • @9inchNirvana So they could very well play a gig RIGHT NOW.

  • This was the last time Eric played guitar.

  • Eric hits a G at the end tag before the E7 right ?

  • The synergy between Jack and Ginger from 3:05-3:11 on that roll gives me goosebumps.

  • Excellent Howlin Wolf cover, Cream is awesome

  • This is nearly as good as when I saw Cream in person back in 1969. EricClapton - great! Ginger Baker, excellent! But why is it that no one ever recognized Jack Bruce as having THE sexiest, most soulful and beautiful voice in rock and roll, even better than Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix, saw and loved all of them, and am loving Jack now-keep your Justin boys, we had real men- sixties lady

  • 5:49 greatest fill of all time

  • in a store one day...three drum notes and i knew it was Ginger Baker.

    the clerk was "surprised"

  • I have a VCD of this sometime ago but I lost it. I believe included in this film was all 3 members being interviewed in 1993, maybe that was the time during their induction into the hall of fame. Can anybody tell me what the title of this film? Or the date and location of this performance?

  • Who's in the guitar ?

  • @FrayzonDZ it's me mr frazone eric clapton

  • @FrayzonDZ whos in the guitar? the pick ups, the pots, the cables, and other hardwares...

  • This had to come before the Live at the Fillmore Show, you can hear how they are working on the eventual fusion masterpiece that was recorded on Wheels of Fire. This is a process recording - they seem to be working out this song for a better showing later.

Saw them live many times in the 60's and they were always jawdroppin' awesome.

  • Great stuff!

I don't know what's responsible for all this creativity.

The fur hat on Bruce, the fur-lined vest on Clapton or

    the LSD-puke shirt on Baker.

    Love it!

  • GINGER BAKER IS KICKIN ASS THERE FOLKS!.FUCKING AMAZING SOUND FROM THAT KIT.

  • Great song Baker is a beast!!

  • Don't you just miss the days when White people ACTUALLY had soulful voices?

  • Imagine Danny carey to the equasion

  • I have a dream:playing the guitar with Bruce and the fuckin' Baker.

  • spoonful E B G D A E E B G D A E E B G D A E END FROM Daniel Clapham

  • I always listen to this song while eating soup. My spoon loves that song.

  • Relax man, let's enjoy the creamers one more time, high, sober, strung out, whatever....

  • Ginger Baker!!!!! Best drummer of all time!

  • @illuminaty9 I'm inclined to agree with you!

  • @illuminaty9 he's good but he don't fill spoon of bonzo

  • @levincestbon Yeah when it comes to rock drummers, it not just that Bonzo is the best, it's that he's so far beyond whomever is second it's almost absurd to discuss the matter.

  • @illuminaty9 yea but he sure is ugly lol... seriously, look at him lol.. dont get me wrong i love him...

  • @dylster21502 haha yeah hes a goofy looking mother fucker lol, gotta love him though

  • why would clapton ever play with john mayer look at him hes god

  • @GuitarPhi1 John Mayer is excellent at singing while playing. To compare Cream with Mayer's trio is not fair. Each are great but very different.

  • The Baker is IN the kitchen and cookin'!

  • genial

  • This has to be _the_ best live performance ever performed by anyone or anything.

  • Iommi kills clapton on a strat, an sg and with plastic fingertips

  • @shadydamaja187 you cant really compare the 2, knowledge of the guitar is a gift and is different cause no-ones he same, especially these 2, plus in these day clapton was beast

  • the lucky one shares again , I saw the goodbye cream tour at the forum in LA , and deep purple with 1 album to their credit , shades of deep purple opening the show , then rockin blues bliss ..... the highlight was when the cream played both sides of the wheels of fire live !! they battled , each thinking they were the best in the world , and on that night , they were .......

  • Simply extraordinary, considerated the Epoca ! Three wonderful Musicians.

An other satisfaction: I have a Guitar like Eric Clapton : legendary and superior,

    also today !

  • Comment removed

  • Clapton's guitar dropped orange sunshine.

  • I'd have to say this:

Jimi Hendrix > Eric Clapton is you talk about them individually, BUT!

Cream > The Experience as a whole.

    IMO.

  • @VictorRechnageL tough call but id have to agree with you

  • @VictorRechnageL Tbh i really wouldn't compare the two because both of them were similar yet different in their own ways as confusing as that may sound....... i don't get it though why everyone always jumps on clapton with the " now he is boring and this and that" or " Jimi kills Clapton" i mean isn't it about time we stop with those? i mean it isn't a competition after all its art something to appreciate not have a circle jerk over who is better.

  • Ok, I am such a huge Jack Bruce supporter and he was (in my opinion) the best part of this band. But come on guys, stop hating on Clapton. He was/is amazing. Listen to his work with the Yardbirds, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, this (Cream), and Blind Faith.Raw power and impossibility. His work with Derek and the Dominos and solo is slower and laid back because he reverted to his roots int he blues. He is proof that just because you can tear a guitar neck apart, it doesnt mean you have to.

  • GINGER FUCKIN' BAKER AT IT AGAIN!

  • Any players out there who were inspired by this song back in the day? Practicing with those HOT squelching amps with four fans going in some run down old house? Sometimes we could get to rehearse in a friends commercial garage because it could handle the amperage. 50 amp fuses in 20 amp circuits don't last long. Stupid.

  • This is so BOSS.

  • oknarbtal, You are so right.

  • saw them at the garden wonderful

  • Oh, hells yeah.... that's the shit...

  • The Black Coffee of Blues needed some Cream to keep it tasty :)

  • The Black Coffee of Blues needed some cream to keep it tasty :)

  • did you ever see the results of a spider doing a web on LSD: IMPECCABLE!!!

  • Interesting discussion here Hendrix versus Clapton. I remember hearing John Mayall and the Bluesbreaker way back in the '60's and thinking, OMG can those sounds come from a guitar. Over the next few years I bought all the Cream albums as they became available - they were just truly out of this world. "Clapton was God" was all over London, and reported in the papers in NZ. Then I heard this other guitarist at a party, Jimi somebody, and it didn't even sound like he was playing a guitar!

  • @Piers40 Basically that.

Clapton was flabbergasted when he first saw Hendrix. Everybody was, sad he was like a lightning bolt, intense, powerful but short lasting.

  • @PatentApplied - yes - I remember Clapton saying, " ... after he saw and heard Hendrix jamming he contacted Pete Townshend to see how they could combat "his" presence ...." - something along those lines anyway!

  • cream was just another band to clapton. clapton is better now than when in cream. take that to the bank

  • Boner!!!!

  • I don't know if you guys noticed something about eric claptons playing. But at 3:38 - 3:48 he makes this same sound just like Jimi hendrix with just one hand on the neck of the guitar. If you watch some live performances of jimi you can see he him doing this same thing in his playing sometimes

My point is I makes me think that maybe they picked up some little things from there playing.

  • @justjames14 They surely did. It's said in many interview that they fed off of eachother, and infuenced eachother in many ways.

  • Parts of Clapton's solo are painfully bad to listen to... but Bruce and Baker carry through.

  • Thank you so much for this. I really loved this band.

  • GINGER!!

  • @wetlettuce92 oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jack Bruce was brilliant, but people on Cream videos don't give Clapton enough credit. As if he was crap without Cream. Clapton was amazing, with or without cream. Go check out Derek & the Dominos, or a lot of his solo stuff. Plus, Cream was by NO means a Jack Bruce solo band.

  • @SirPwn4lot While I do agree with you, Jack Bruce surely was the mastermind & creative force behind this band.

  • @VictorRechnageL True enough

  • @VictorRechnageL Only becacuse Clapton let him do that!!!

  • @vakeromty Oh shut it already.

  • a powerhouse of unbridled talent. Just awesome

  • i love jack bruces bass and bakers drums. the ultimate 3 piece band bar none oh and clapton was quite good aswell

  • To all of you "Jack Offs" commenting on this practice/sound check which took place some 40 years ago, it is hilarious to someone who was there to read some of these comments. Somewhere in time this took place "today". Sometime during any day, like today, It is f___ing great to be alive!

  • the crack off ginger baker`s snare would split atoms

  • I'm Trippin' BALLS!

  • ROBERT THE BRUCE!

  • 3 geniuses at work

  • @GreggDuncanMcLean1 dude,nobody will listen to your ignorant,conseravitve-like preaching,now go to hell.

  • @GreggDuncanMcLean1 dude shut the fuck up, you think your all high and mighty sitting there at your keyboard glittering the generality that sobriety is sooo amazing and that you are placed higher in society than anyone whos ever done drugs. until youve tried it you know not of which you speak. sure they wrote a song about their drug of choice but im sure its way better than anything you could ever hope to accomplish ever

  • @Thegrungeguitar333 dude ive more done drugs in my life from acid, myscaline, canbinol, coke, shot speed thru needles into my body so plz dont give my any of your lip about not knowing from which I speak. all those drugs thru 25 years of my life, which btw is more than you are old never did anything but bring heartache, pain. and destruction so grow up young man and maybe think before you speak again

  • @Thegrungeguitar333 First of all, this song isn't about a drug of choice. Second of all, Cream didn't write it. It's an old Howlin Wolf song.

  • Raw beauty, thanks for the upload

  • happy birthday jack bruce
