set oven at 250 set towel under ball on rack for 5 to 7 minutes and use rubbing alcohol to clean off ball. I have done this lots of times and never had a problem
@Penkills75 No but it does make the surface dull again. Which can make the ball hook more. However, after many uses the ball will be saturated with oil. Once that happens resurfacing a ball becomes almost pointless. I have had my Brunswick Anaconda for over a year now and it hooks like a house ball many even less than a house ball. I have had it resurfaced a few times. No help. The best thing to do is to either follow the vid or wash with warm water and dawn.
Actually, I just tried using a weaker heater and put the bowling ball in front of it (at the point where the air temp was about 120 F, any hotter can cause some wonderful core separation and heat cracks) and just wiped the oil off that came to the surface.
Soaking the ball will not crack the ball. By soaking the ball in warm water, you bleed out the oil that was deeply seeded in the coverstock. DO NOT use very hot water becuse this CAN lead to seperation of the coverstock from the core, if the temp is alright for your hand, it's alright for the ball. Fill the wholes with putty and tape over the wholes with electrical tape, this will prevent any water from seeping into the inner walls of the core. THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND SAFE WAY TO REMOVE OIL.
@technologyinfo I use a ball cleaner with a microfiber towel. I also wipe down my ball with the towel every few frames and clean it with cleaner such as Storm Xtra Clean after every bowling trip to prevent oil from soaking in.

If you resurface the ball, does it clean all the oil out?

some problem if i clean oil from my bowling ball whit Turtle Wax Liquid Polish?
Pacoelo 7 months ago
@Pacoelo That doesn't clean it, it just clogs the pores. That will straight up kill your bowling ball, though it will be quite shiny.

It's amazing how all of these videos assume that everyone lives near a pro shop. What about if we live no where near them, what should we do then?

@technologyinfo Well, just about everyone that bowls happens to live near a bowling center......which almost always have a pro shop in them.
But yeah, ball cleaner works well, just use it when you get home after bowling.
