Michael had the song half written, then left the band. Uli came in and finished the song, thats why the style changes halfway through. At no time did they write it together. That is from Uli's mouth

Thats interesting, I never knew that, but I can believe it by the way the song changes to a "rock" song to something much more out there and by all means AWESOME!  Listening to the song where the change happens into the instrumental part with headphones really puts you in another place. I love it.
