I've been playing like a kid and have been getting along fine with getting high scores using one finger. Deep down, I know I'm cheating myself because I feel that true mastery of this game relies on maximizing shifting and utilizing all fingers. Am I correct? All in all, I truly thank you for these helpful tips!
This was a great tutorial! Not only did I learn how to play correctly, I learned that I played like a kindergartner! Thanks for such a great demonstration, please keep them coming.
Jello fingers??? Aparently I have Viagra fingers!! Lol, and didn't even know it! Thanks so much for the vid, it's going to make all the difference in the world. RS should include a link to your vid, it would really help. Thanks again.
Nice Video you have good information to tell.one main thing about picking i do is to pick the strings with the pick hitting the strings at an angel and not flat on ,and also i tend to hold the pick at different spots depending on what kind of music i play ,i use a 1mm nylon pick it is a heavy pick i find if i go out on the edge of the pick i can play as if i have a much thinner pick. any beginner should listen to this whole video its full of important facts
Great video, thanks for posting. As a drummer for almost 30 years and switching over to guitar I can use all the help I can. The fret finger positioning tip was especially helpful. I tend to get wrist pain after a while and have difficulty placing all 4 fingers over each fret, especially on the E string. I'm hoping after a while my hand will condition itself to stretch to those frets. Rock on!
This is an excellent video. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain this. This video should have come with the game. I was a bit annoyed that they didn't cover some of these basics for those of us who have never touched a guitar prior to playing RockSmith.
Great video, and very helpful for the beginner. As an intermediate guitarist I used your video to help me decide if getting Rocksmith is worth it... I am going to buy it, but am waiting for the PC version in December.
Do you know if it's okay to use an acoustic with an output jack in it? The Rolling Stone preview of the game said it's not recommended but other sites say it's okay but you need a "pickup" (whatever that is). Have you tried using an acoustic with the game?
I want to learn, but would prefer to use the dusty old acoustic I already have instead of droppping an extra $100+ for an electric.
@dick117 I also have an electric acoustic that i have been learning on, (dont own Rocksmith YET) but from what i read u can use it, the only drawback to elec/acoustic, is that you will hear 2 notes, the one your acoustic produces out loud, and the note the TV will output from the game. The reason that a plain elec. is better is, the electric doesnt make noise unless u have it plugged into an amp (PS3/X-box) so you wont hear 2 notes being played.
Ehhhh!!! 29mins >.< so long but i think i wont watch this cuz i actually play ugitar just wanted to see o,< and the riff its pretty easy so good job and good luck with the views i think ppl should watch this before play (cuz many ppl don play guitar o,o)

Craigslist u can pick up an old elec for $50.oo
