I dont know why Roger Waters doesnt sing this song instead of his guitarist. I know Gilmour sang on the original but Roger should really be singing this.
Lucky enough to have seen Pink Floyd live three times over three decades, and not bragging...only mentioning to say this is very worthy music that is hard to find now days. Can you not appreciate this great shit? Some kids put down one exotic car over another, niether which they can afford nor have ever driven, nor even need to own anyway...(me either) They argue this is better that that, but I challange ANY of you naysayers to PROVE this is not truly epic music.
@Kando0615 There's no shred in the solos at all! I think they actually do a very good job! They all have wonderful tone, and Snowys phrasing is awesome. Still, can never beat Gilmour!
@ConflictedStoner i dont think we can compare the two versions. It's a different take of a great song. Give all 3 guitarists a chance to shine and lay down a sweet solo. 3 different approaches and all of them sound great and the coherence and fullness of the sound is achieved in a very unique way
This is goddam awful. I mean, sure, the rest of Pink Floyd don't want to do anything, but don't kill all of the music. The singer can't sing or play guitar and looks like a knob, The band has no cohesion, the back up singers ruin it, the songs sound completely different. I was on Rogers side over the fallout dispute, but I'm not so sure now. Even if I was high I think I still wouldn't enjoy this, and Pink Floyd is most enjoyable high.
Lay off the weed. Roger picked a killer lineup for this tour. Doyle Bramhall, while more known as a Texas bluesman, ripped it up on this tour. Andy Fairweather Low is a session/touring staple for Clapton & Roger, has recorded with The Who, Satriani, etc. Snowy White (Les Paul playing badass) toured with Floyd on the Animals tour in '77, and was in Thin Lizzy. John Carin (keys, programming) played on the Division Bell, toured on the Pulse tour and w/ Gilmour, and The Who.
@SurfGreenTelecaster I don't really give a shit who they've played for. This recreation sounds poor - doesn't matter what experience the band have. None of those artists are predominantly Jazz/rock artists either, so why would they be suited to play anything from the Dark Side of the Moon album? I can't believe anyone would think this is a good copy of the real Pink Floyd, it's not even in time.
@SurfGreenTelecaster Well you clearly don't know anything about music. Can you not see that Dark Side of the Moon is a jazz/rock fusion. Money is such a jazzy song especially - the rhythm, the chord progressions, the fucking saxaphone solo, the instrumentation.
The guy in the grey suit is Andy Fairweather-Low - original singer with Amen Corner and frequent collaborator with Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman and georgie Fame - not a country singer - he's a Brit!
@iwct Ahh yeah... No idea why I put country haha.. I didn't know he collaborated with Wyman! He's on a ton of Clapton DVDs though... I LOVE the sound of his Strat!
umm ya not too happy with our dumb selves after just watching this yesterday, we didnt think it would sound right, but holy crap! not only does roger look great, that new guitar player , singer ummm is amazing, guess we'll go to the other show , k, got to go buy tickets now
@fordescortracer o boy there is two people left in floyd waters and gilmore and guess what waters is still a dousche and yes he wrote that song and it was origanly it was more of a blues song but it seem to work out the way it did
I think it's a pity Pink Floyd cannot go on the road,Roger did some good stuff and the rift caused all sorts of problems. Maybe they could do a final tour for the new generation that don't really know how big they were!
OK, who are the musicians here? Which plays the red guitar, and who plays the black and white Stratocaster? And the Gold top Les Paul (hope my guitar brand guesses are right!)
@4rainbowed the guy with the black strat is andy fairweather low. doyle bramhell is the one with the red strat. and snowy white is playing the les paul
@bassmasta97 Thanks-- I should have spotted Doyle a mile away playing left handed.. he does session work with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi and has been in Clapton's touring band. Snowy looks ragged compared to his days w/thin Lizzy where he could NEVER match up to their other guitarists, like Brian Robertson, Gary Moore, etc,
Andy Fairweather Low's performance in this song amazed me to such extent that I now prefer this version to any other version I've ever heard. I actually dislike the arrangement that Gilmour and the guys did on Delicate Sound and Pulse after hearing this. Go Andy! Oh and notice Jon Carin's facial expression when Andy starts playing. Jon has a huge grin, denoting that Andy's form of guitar playing here is actually comical, as well as incredibly grungy and technical.
When the concert was performed, Waters took the amazing talent of writing, Gilmour, Wright and Mason took the sound, up to everybody to see what they prefers in the performances.
I think Andy does the best here (that's the guy in the gray suit). He realizes he'll never be able to do what Gilmour does, so he just goes for something completely different and original.
Doyle Bramhall is very good but is he David G? Dont know! Sings well and most new guitarists would spew blood to be as good as he is when it comes to playing the bloody thing, stuff we You Tubers dream of!!!!!!
Pink Floyd la mejor banda del mundo... sus propuestas, su musica... fue lo mejor y al final por lo que tanto querian demostrar perdieron por sus disputas sobre derechos de autor.... por el MONEY!!!
Also, if you want to hear a REALLY good version of Money from a solo Roger Waters tour, try finding the Live in Zurich bootleg of the Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking tour with Eric Clapton. It's definitely one of EC's better moments.
well if you actually read up on this tour, Roger Waters didn't want to sound like Pink Floyd, thats why he got 3 great guitarists and let them do there own things.
Yea, I see what you mean but I think the relationship between Bramhall and White are fantastic, especially when they play Comfortably Numb at this same concert.
