Is it just me or do all of the Castlevania games have that lame-ass ending where they just watch the castle crumble. WTF? I want a real ending dammit!
@Ajax5405 I agree that the games from before where not as developed as much as they are now. And don't get me wrong, Super Castlevania IV is a masterpiece. However, look at games like the Ninja Gaiden trilogy for the NES and then come back and talk to me about plot lines being developed and endings being long. Those games had LEGENDARY plot lines, cut-scenes, and endings that were WAY ahead of their time. I was just saying that all of them are good guy defeats Dracula and the castle goes down.
1 of my favorite childhood games next to Metroid and Contra on NES. I hope my old games in storage still play. I kept all my games from NES, SEGA, SNES, DREAMCAST, PS1 and XBOX, so many memories.
@ MugenOverlord, I think that because Dracula gained his power from Walter Burnhard, who had the Ebony Stone (causes eternal night), that Simon killed Dracula, and as he was dying, the power of the Ebony Stone was shattered, and that caused sunlight to return, thus burning Dracula's dead/dying body.
lol i woulda done the same thing then say what now mother fucker.(then Dracula says now this motherfucker and shoots a fireball at you i would seriously laugh if i died that way >.>)
I agree, this ending theme was an awesome piece of music, made it really satisfying after having battled through this game. What a great game this was, loved how you could whip in 8 directions too, lots of good bosses and enemies. I only wish Konami would stop ruining the series trying to succeed in 3D, Castlevania only works well in 2D so leave it that way. Those DS Castlevanias were pretty good too, I'd rank this after Symphony of the night.
I cant show you the ending, but I have done it before and it is not much different. The only difference is you are still able to control Simon but instead of Dracula just sitting there in his bat form, he is flying around and you have to hit him with your whip and that is the second ending
It's like the music gives you a sense of victory for bringing this necksucker to his doom again, but to always be vigilant, for as long as there are Belmonts to take up the Vampire Killer whip, Drac will remain a threat. But for now, just rest and ENJOY THE VICTORY!
As far as endings are concerned, this one IS sort of lacking. I guess I expected more from the last boss and the ending cinematics especially after CVIII's bosses and ending. But I will agree with every other comment here and say that this had to be some the most AWESOME ending music ever for a CV game.
Stupid ending, we need an updated "Simon's Quest"...

Amazingly epic song. I love the "yes, it's finally" over aspect of it. His burden has been lifted, his quest - complete.

MugenOverlord 3 years ago
It wasn't the sun that killed him, but Simon's whip.
dauntlessmath 3 years ago
Vampire Killer (Simon's whip) may have severely damaged him, but if you look, he sets on fire and dies when the sun shines on him in here.
MugenOverlord 3 years ago
Dracula is immune to sunlight. At most, it irritates his eyes.
dauntlessmath 3 years ago
Yeah, but it sealed the deal, didn't it?
