@riesshel Working in the round like this, I always do an even number and add the yarn overs on the first pattern row. Working flat, I always do an odd number so the pattern is centered with a knit stitch anchoring each side.
@ursulasauer I have 2 more recent videos that are better. "2 Color Brioche Stitch in the round - crochet cast-on and set up round" is the first one and "2 Color Brioche Stitch in the round - the pattern repeat" is the second one.
the video looks great but it would be so much more helpful if you could actually speak and say what you're doing. Either that or put the instructions in the info section.
@maritate I have another clip where I show the crochet cast-on I often use. But when I cast on for this in the round, I always start with an even number of stitches and increase on the first pattern row with the yarn overs. Recently, I worked a long tail cast-on in 2 colors, alternating a stitch in either color and again casting on an even number; it worked fine. "2 Color Brioche Stitch in the round - crochet cast-on and set up round" is the other video. youtube.com/watch?v=-7Btk8IR7vI
@maritate There is no pattern. I cast on an even number of stitches in something that will stretch enough to accommodate the stretchiness of the stitch pattern, and the on the set up row I increase the stitches by half. Please look at the other video, I show how to cast on and then set up the first pattern row. (this one: youtube.com/watch?v=-7Btk8IR7vI), and then there's a second video where I show the pattern repeat. (this one: youtube.com/watch?v=ruDGqG7DAeA)
How do you get such a loose gauge? Mine always ends up ridiculously tight, I've been wondering if it was my yarn or needle sizes but I just don't know...
=( i planning to knit that kind of pattern but the thing is dat my string is "already" 3 colored n when i knit d color is mixed up but when i see knitting shops their is like this do you know how 2 keep then in d same line of color? tyy p.s : im sort of a beginner
To get the vertical stripes of color, it has to be worked with 2 solid color yarns instead of 1 multicolor yarn. The stripes come from the stitch pattern. If you use a multicolor yarn, you will get the muddied effect you've been seeing. Have you considered using a solid, complimentary yarn with the multicolor? Then you'll get solid vertical stripes and multicolor vertical stripes.
can u do a video how to start it because is can of difficult im just learning pls.

do you cast on the two yarns together???
SHMILY014 2 years ago
No, I use a loose cast on in one color and I bind off (loosely) in that same color, so the edges match.
