Interesting video, thanks for posting it. you guys might find this blog interesting, it has information about all kinds of bamboo news, from products like laptops phones, to interior design to architecture, material analysis, etc.
get 55 gal barrol one that is food grade kind and do it like the trash can and make some rain barrols to collect rain to water plants and other stuff like your channel 5 stars
You know what worked for me? The round rubbermaids trashcans, they seem more flexible, did you add rubber washers? I used the same facet you show (myself) but I recall using two rubber washers (one inside and outside the can). I had no leaks with that whatsoever, though I do forget what I used as a sealer. I believe it was "clear"
You'll have tons of fun, its no fun when its all done lol Its more fun when your never done because your always learning and improving on a thing.
It leaked out of the back in the bottom. I saw some really big sturdy trash cans that hold around 100 gallons that I thought I would use one of those. I used O rings and they did a good job of sealing the area around the faucet.
I love you did I did the same for my garden after water harvesting. Also if you built a high (20 feet or higher maybe)structure which braces a tin roof you could harvest water from it guttering it to the trashcan itself. The trashcan being higher then the shower head would use gravity to deliver the water without a pump. I thought of being able (somehow) to "pulley" the water up to a sunny platform for both heat and better pressure. I love thinking this stuff out
Thank you for you kind comment and your suggestions. We are interested in water harvesting systems. The trashcan/water tank sprang a leak this past winter and we aren't sure what improvements we will get to make this summer.
I really Envy your lifestyle and the projects you are doing with bamboo are inspiring.....too bad the Government is going to dictate how you live your life and what you can and cannot do with "THEIR" property.
Thank you for you supportive comment. It is possible our government will run out of money putting and end to the path of power and control that it is now on.
Are you required to have your animals registered under the NAIS in Virginia? We do in KY. I was really looking forward to having livestock on my homestead but now I don't know if I will be able to afford it.
Yes they do, and it's a once a year fee. I don't know how much is charged per animal but if you have a large number of them it can cost you an arm and a leg in fees per year. They are also talking about making it so you have to chip your animals so it's easier for the Gov to track them via satalite. Of course the farmer is responsible for paying to have the animals chipped which is in addition to the yearly fees.
i JUST FOUND OUT THAT IN BRADFORD COUNTY, PA YOU CAN'T HAVE A SOLAR SHOWER WITHOUT AN EXPENSIVE GRAY WATER SYSTEM. I SAW A CASE IN STANDING STONE WHERE THEY CAN'T USE THEIRS.
We bought cows for the raw milk laws that plague this country. The desire to control and regulate everything makes people weak, dependant and stifles their creativity which will ultimately lead to our downfall.
I thought when I bought my land I would be able to do whatever I wanted with it, no such luck. The Gov has everything so regulated you can't do anything on your own land without a permit or paying a "Professional" to do it. They make living self sufficiently and debt free virtually impossible today.
It probably will. This will be our first winter with the tank but we had reserve water in barrels and there was some ice on the top, about 4 inches of it. Those barrels only got about 4hrs of sun a day. I will continue to video how we use the tank during the winter and it the temp remains much higher then the air temp.

Sounds good but I'd be worried about the chemicals from the plastic leeching into the water in the heat. They could be absorbed into the skin.

Not yet but I suppose this will be a nationwide thing. Do they charge you per animal?

Someone said to us "at least they allow us to have a cow." Which I guess sums it up.

Did you really expect the water water to rise to a higher level???? Ever hear of syphoning..
the water goes to a lower level not higher.
you need to put the tank on your roof or a stand.
