Great jam, but I've always figured this setup was too stagey for George - you can see him get bored and try to cut it short, with the 'okay one more' stuff.
I reckon the interview in the backyard with the ukes is better because he seems more into it. I guess he'd moved onto uke by this time, haha.
Wouldn't it have been great if they had broken into "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"? Thanks for the upload, last video I think of George with Paul and Ringo.
With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes", which is a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance, historical events over the last 40 years and 8mm film antics from the period, all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!
This is the tune that got McCartney into the Beatles allegedly - Raunchy - because he could play it all the way through - not a staggering achievement as most of it is the same 3 or 4 notes - but was the height of funk in its day.
@zthetha Twenty Flight for Paul when meeting John that got him in, Raunchy for George, via Paul's introducing of George to John as a prospet to join the band needing a good Lead guitarist.
What a band. The world will never see their likes again. I'm 57 now an just starting to rediscover these guys. I actually live not from from the street that I was walking in with my new radio stuck to my head when the news broke that they were breaking up, I actually remember the very spot. I'm now buying all their music on CD as I've no player to listen to the LPs. I'm a sad old fart getting:-)
"Raunchy" by Duane Eddy i think. i know i Raunchy is the first song George played for John on the double decker bus to get in the Beatles his audition as it is
I had no idea that there'd been a Beatles re-union. Yes, it's a shame that John couldn't have been there, but then again, if he was, Yoki Ono would have been sitting in the corner, as someone has already pointed out
Ringo is indeed a singners's drummer. Never overwhelming. Just enough, always. I have th highest regards for the man, as a guitarist and singner myself.
It's as if these three never split up, and were John still alive and showed up to play it would be the same. They all were a perfect fit and just flowed seamlessly from one tune to another. Hard to think that George is now gone also.
@111diequox: Yeah, but if that was the case, then the songs they picked would mostly NOT be Beatles songs. They all had a tendency to go off into 50's rock, which is understandable, since that's what they grew up on. They probaly don't see the magic of their own songs like we do. It's not really magic when you're the one who created it. What's magic to them is the music they grew up on.
I must admit it was a joy and privilege to be there in the 60's...and to wake up every morning wondering "what are they, the Beatles, going to do today?" We had such fun, it was great....memories, memories.... we bought guitars and learned to play....went to see them ... and the train ride there to Chicago & back - Oooh, what fun!
I felt sorry for anyone that didn't get into it & join in the fun...seriously!
@Abram556: Thinkin' of Linkin,' which I think may have been an advertising jingle that he and john wrote in the early days. Paul alludes to it when they stop.
I'm not mad at MDC because how could you be mad at someone for being crazy? I'm just mad at the cosmos for allowing the planets to line up in such a way that some lunatic would shoot one of these guys for no good reason. What a rip off.

@ludwigking I don't think it was Ringo who didn't want a reunion. In fact, it seems he was the one who wanted a reunion cause he was the only one who stayed warm with all the others after the breakup. He had a song called "Early 1970" where me mentions all the other Beatles and says he wanted to play with all of them at the same time again. The Beatles are the best when they are together. Its that harmony thing between what each of them does that makes them best.
PLAYBOY: Why is it so unthinkable that the Beatles might get back together to make some music? LENNON: Do you want to go back to high school? Why should I go back ten years to provide an illusion for you that I know does not exist? It cannot exist.
He would've play with Paul, Ringo and George, but never in the Beatles
@liamowen "Raunchy" by Bill Justis, Which George auditioned on a bus to join The Quarrymen. I think he passed! Second song "Thinking of linking" very early Lennon McCartney song which was never recorded.
