  • You look a lot thinner in your face than you did. I have 30 day shred but I moved into an apartment and I feel weird making a bunch of noise above someone! ek.

  • hey, just wanted to say thank you so much for bringing my attention to the 30 day shred. I bought it and love it, I did see results quite quickly but I also now really appreciate the extra strength it brought to my arms and legs as I fell down some stairs and am now on crutches.....

  • When I first started "Shredding" I used 3lb weights for most of the strength & 2lb for the side lunges she does in the level 1, 3rd circuit. Now I use 3's and 5's. I have even purchased a set of 8's. I need to get back to it.

  • lighter weights will make such a difference for you until you make your way up to the 5 lbs =) 30 day shred is great- i've done it in the past with nice results! keep it up, good luck with the 30 days!

  • Since, as you say, your legs/butt aren't your problem area, you can actually get a similar product to the hot pants that is like a zip-up corset type thing. I have one and it works in the same sort of way that you described the pants do where it sucks you in and encourages you to sweat more in that area.

  • you can get these hot pants on ebay new for about $35 too

  • You can use soup cans or canned food cans in place of 2 lb weights. It's pretty much the same. :)

  • i did the 5 pound weight thing too...i wanted to die, i bought new ones lol.

  • water bottles are always a good substitute to those gym/exercise weights. I've been using them for a few months before I even thought of purchasing an actual weight set. 

  • yoga tapes are awesome for flexibility. There are some great ones you can find at Walmart for like 14 bucks.

  • I have the 30 day Shred too. It's a short workout but intense!! I've only made it to circuit 2, the last one is too much for me. Good luck!

  • Does anyone know if those hot pants make people break out? It doesn't seem too sanitary to do every single day though. Maybe?

  • @KaruptKara They actually make your skin really soft and smooth and you need to hand wash them and hang them up to dry every few days. If I am just exercising in mine I do it like every 3 days. If I am wearing it all day and night then I will wash it the next day

  • @KaruptKara hasnt made me break out, and im kinda prone to it... it is winter, but honestly they make my skin sooo soft! they stay hydrated in the pants. you can feel where they stop on my legs, smooth to dry! so far i love mine. make you sweat alot! i have an initial vid up on my channel, ill come back in a week to do my results!

  • You should try p90x and keep your same meal plan. Trust me its awesome and all the hard work you do really pays off, i too have tried the 30 day shred and results are not even comparable to those of the p90.

  • Go leesha! You can do it! I've been getting in shape and eating better starting in october. i was a pescatarian that ate a lot of carbs, now I eat all natural and raw. Insanity rocks! you should do it after your current workout. I've started running instead of the cardio recovery day and the day off :)

  • everytime I start working out again I always feel great too! its amazing how much it changes just your overall mental health I guess. of course then my dumbass stops and I'm all down in the dumps again! Lol you think I would learn :/

  • i just ordered the dvd and some weights from amazon for £12.98 :) like $20 I think. I like the idea of a 20 minute workout that does a bit of everything thanks for sharing x

  • im sorry to tell you that sweating in those pants does not make you lose weight you will put it straight back on as soon as you drink a glass of water i got this information from a personal trainer so they know what there talking about.

  • For your glasses to not pick up the light you'd need to get some sort of reflector. (just google light reflector ) they're used for photography and video. I remember for school pictures I would have to hold the reflector, so the lights wouldn't show up on my glasses. you might want to get one so you could do a few makeup looks for glasses. hope that little bit of info helped. <3

  • Actually, if you talk to any doctor, alot of times they will tell you when taking Anti-depressants you need to diet and exercise, even if it is just going for a walk to get your head 'to clear'. What it does is that it releases serotonin (sp?) which is a chemical that makes you happy. So exercising can really make you happy. xD

  • Another few things that are good are Just Dance [#2 has a "just sweat" option that give you goals to reach] and the Pussycat Dolls workout DVD or the Carmen Electra "fit to strip" DVD set .... I prefer dance work outs because they don't seem like such a work out.

    Also, what is this "green smoothie" you always talk about? I can't find your blog post about it!!

  • you cud try the bellydance exercises too. i'm trying out Tribal Fusion. they have a yt channel. i'm trying to ease myself back into exercising and belly dancing is fun :)

  • Sweating more in one area does not mean you can spot reduce in one area.

  • @amylouo No, but it helps you lose excess water weight in that area, helping it to appear smaller/thinner. :)

  • I couldn't touch my toes for the longest time. I started stretching in the shower and it made a big difference. The heat relaxes your muscles and makes stretching easier.

  • @egyptiangurlie i did it with the five pound weights, and i'm always soo sore! but i noticed that my arms are getting much stronger and i love it!

  • I hoop and dance for exersize haha! But really, if you want to be able to touch your hands on the ground when you bend over, an exersize/trick I learned in my dance class this year is to put on a four-minute song, and just hang over like you are trying to touch your toes but if you cant reach it just hang over. Stay there the whole song unless you feel like you will pass out. If you do it every day I can almost guarantee that in a week you will be able to touch the floor.

    I'm getting ready for my wedding which is in February, and my cousin got me the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred cd.

    20 minutes alright, but it's hard as SHIT!

    We cheat a bit while doing it, we skip the push ups and take 10 second breaks now and then.

    We're doing level one, but it's still so hard!

    Thing is, doing the work out isn't fun or motivating if it's alone :|

    I saw a pair at my eye doctor for around 200 bucks but couldn't justify spending that much considering they are quite "trendy" and I don't know how much use I will get out of them. I really want a pair though haha!

  • This was a great video! I had back surgery at the end of August after a year of being injured and barely moving (I had two ruptured discs) and so now its all about rebuilding core strength, I can barely walk around Target without hurting. At physical therapy, they have me do a lot of exercises to stretch out my back and in the month that I've been doing them I have noticed highly increased flexibility! If you want a list of the stretches, I can email them to you, just lemme know!

  • BTW, my reccomendation is to pair up the 30 day shred with the 17 day diet book.

  • You've inspired me. I think I will start the 30 day shred tomorrrow. I had started right before Halloween and lost 15 pounds by Thanksgiving. But with the holidays I've gained a little of it back. Time to back into being healthy and fit.

  • I don't know what exercises your dvd has you doing specifically but you could try using larger water bottles if you don't have weights..Or any other weighted object that would easy for you to hold on to.

  • Have you tried Ripped in 30? I heard it's a step up from 30 Day Shred because she took all the feedback from 30 Day Shred and improved the DVD. I'm wondering which you think is better.

  • @xsparkage I did a little research and found that alot of people do 30 Day Shred and then Ripped in 30 so you have something else to do after 30 Day Shred. I heard Ripped in 30 is really hard so doing 30 Day Shred first makes Ripped in 30 a little easier.

  • Target has 2 pound weights for less than $5 I'm pretty sure. I was okay on level one of 30 day shred, but when I tried level two my body was just like LOLNOPE and I gave up. I lost a few pounds though.

  • Yoga really helps with improving flexibility. You should check out TaraStilesYoga on youtube, she has great routines, including ones for flexibility. I used to be a very flexible gymnast, and after quitting a lost almost all of it. Yoga has helped me get some of it back.

  • My problem is that I only end up eating once a day and doing next to no exercise - so I just don't lose any weight

  • @salamanderdeath If you're eating less than 2,000 calories a day and have actual fat to lose, you WILL lose weight. It's when you go overboard with the calories & don't exercise that you'll gain weight. It's science. If you're not gaining or losing, then it's a plateau.

  • @buckybaby29 Oh you. I have a LOT of weight to lose, that's why I'm not losing any. I'm slowing down my metabolism like crazy, so anything I do eat gets held onto because my body thinks it's in a famine. I know how "science" works thanks.

  • @salamanderdeath Believe me, me too. You don't lose 3 lbs a day, but you are losing fat. Food doesn't get "held onto" unless you're eating less than 4 hours before you sleep to give your body enough time to digest your meal. I was giving you facts, not judging. I am the LAST person to be passing judgement.

  • @buckybaby29 I'm not saying you're judging, I just know how my body works, and no matter how long I do this for I don't lose weight (not that I'm doing it on purpose, it's just how it works out). My body just doesn't work that way, my metabolism slows right down, and sometimes I even GAIN weight. It's just what happens.

  • @buckybaby29 Thats false. Some people eat 1600 calories a day and don't lose weight. You need to burn more than you eat to lose weight. It all depends on your weight and height. For me, right now since I'm trying to lose weight, I eat 1200-1300 calories a day. (Which is healthy, don't worry.) If you don't eat enough, your body has nothing to run off of, so it stores all the food you eat for energy, making you actually gain weight.

  • i have the same kind of motivation issues. I have lost about 35 pounds since this past summer. You'd think that would be motivation enough to keep it up, but i'm really struggling right now...i wish you could just buy motivation in a bottle.... lol

I've gotten back into last week and of course this week I'm sick -- but I'll be back into it as soon as I'm better. I really want to try the 30 days shred, I'm usually on the elliptical for at least 30 mins, but a 20 mins intense workout sounds nice.
