i've been trying to budget the best way to tune the cheap mustang.... thing is i'm definitely getting one but don't know if it's gonna make any hp diference from the 300hp for $28000 or the way ur saying... any tips?

No, spend the 28,000 on a BMW 135i. 330HP off a twin-turbo inline 6 and not a v8, 6 speed manual, proper steering, independent suspension, brakes, and limited slip diff. You won't need to tune it and it comes excellently setup from the factory.

Mustangs are expensive to tune, very messy when they are (look at Top Gear's review of the Shelby and Roush Mustang), really aren't sexy, are very common, and really aren't for a car enthusiast. The BMW is that and more; you won't be disappointed.

you do know that parts and tuning and especially true performance parts for BMW'ers are hellaofalot more expensive. Especially since this is in Canada...an oil change here for my dad's 335 is almost 100$..

Tuning a BMW is expensive, yes. With a Ford, it may not be, but if you don't know what you're doing, you can literally trash the whole car. What I meant was instead of getting a souped up Ford, just spend ALL the money buying a factory issue BMW. It has all of the enhanced features you'd want and need, it runs smooth, pulls clean in and out of turns, cornering, braking, etc, so you don't even need to soup it up. You want a souped up BMW, just buy an M3.

@betatalk357 Old Ford 300 I6 very often have that many miles and not all of it were easy highway miles like the old jap cars, wich never see anything worse than a snowy road on the way to the grocery store. Itll show something for the japs when The newer tundras are 20 years old, have been used hard by their owners and sill run like alot of the old trucks in my area do. But I doubt that will happen.

BTW, watch "Old Top Gear Toyota Corolla" here on youtube.  What he talks about on the Corolla is exactly why people buy foreign. It might not be a Mustang, but it has a little of everything for everybody, but the most key ingredients of the car, like cheap, reliability, and good courteous staff were put primary objectives.

Don't go on and on about Toyota's current recall bullshit. Many people were concerned when the recalls happened, but once fixed, people were still confident to continue doing business with Toyota and/or was willing to forgive Toyota for the recall blemish simply because they had great overall positive experience with them.

At least they're not like GM, saying "its normal" for their truck owners' engines to have piston slap, then the engine goes in their $40k truck and GM REFUSED TO FIX IT.

Also, look at Top Gear's review of the $75,000shelby GT500, and look at the $150,000 Shelby GT 500 KR. 150k for a Shelby GT 500 KR; 27 to 35k for a BMW 135i.

Check out "I killed my Mustang," and the guy who's destroying a brand new Mustang convertible for insurance fraud on Youtube. In a small amount of time, those parts break. BMW parts are less than likely to break if routine maintenance is done on it. Need I say more?
