  • Pause at 0:14. I like his reading material.

  • A real psychic will never take up the challenge, because they say that if you use the power for greed, you will lose the power. Sylvia Browne has to be a fake, based on how much she charges for readings, so she's probably just scared of getting proved wrong.

  • @Waves2622 How about if this so called real psychic donates the prize to their favorite charity?

  • im mechanical engineer it is absolutely no way you can bend a spoon, it is no way you can brake the atomic forces, in physics it is something what called force times arm which is the only reason you can bend a spoon at all...

  • The challenge only lasts for for anthother couple of years.. how sad lol

  • The psychics don't do this challenge because they psychically know that there is no million dollars to actually be won.

  • and what is the challenge ??

  • check Krzysztof Jackowski... you'll pay him 1mln $

  • I absolutely believe in God. I absolutely cannot prove God's existence. Randi's brilliance is in exposing the legions crooks, phonies, and frauds who pretend they can. The fact that there will be no absolute proof in this world is the very reason that faith is required and of such paramount importance.

  • @3434arc1 That's awesome. I wish people would just learn to keep it to themselves.

  • logic is the answer to god

  • He said "I'm alive!"-Is he sure about that? Cause he looks dead to me!

  • I'M IN THE PHONE BOOK! SHE TALKS TO DEAD PEOPLE AND SHE COULDN'T FIND ME!! hahahah so true.

  • I trust Sean Connelly over this guy and his associates any day.

They treated him and his request to be reviewed like crap. Look it up. It's pathetic.

  • I thought I had psychic ability then realized I was just crazy

  • I would like to know the criteria Randi has for admitting that someone is psychic. I have received messages as as well as predictions in my dreams that have been extremely accurate all my life. I'l like to take on his challenge, if it is fair and if he would actually pay out the money! My guess is he won't accept anything and thus be assured he won't have to pay it. You can contact me at greenbridge36@hotmail.com and if it is a fair challenge, I'd like to take it on.

  • @Greanwitch Criteria differ depending the claim you make. You move things with your mind, u have to do that, you talk with dead, etc. You say you can predict things well, you have to accurate predict something.

James Randi is truly awesome, he uncovers any frauds and charlatans for the sake of the rest of us and the less fortunate people that are victims or would be victims. If you think you have some special abilities, then Randi is the man to go to.

  • randi you owe me a million dollars i predicted where a missing woman was emailed the police and they did nothing then found her where i said, same with another missing person i said .4 miles from her house ,she was found less than a half mile from her house,i emailed authorities,i want myn million please.

  • @metromanilla "randi you owe me a million dollars"

Er... I believe the challenge requires pre-organisation and deliberate set up of double blind controlled conditions. Agreements in precisely what is being demonstrated and why it should be considered paranormal etc... Eliminating bullshit, requires a little forward planning. You cant just point out your coulda' woulda' belated psychic claim and proclaim victory. That's how you get your head into a stupid mess in the first place. ASSUMPTIONS!

  • "i predicted where a missing woman was emailed the police"

Maybe you shoulda called Randi back then. See.. The police get a hell of a lot of these kinds of calls. It's not surprising that the odd one or two appear to seem quite ominous. I called up my small city police department and predicted there would be 52 psychic calls last year, there turned out to be be 55, but two other psychics also predicted how many other psychics would call and forgot to count each other, so that put us all out. ;)

  • True psychics wouldn't waste their time using their gifts for fame or money... They use their abilities for which they were contracted to do and that's to help those who loose their way. One of the most powerful psychics ever lives in Baltimore; he's a very old black man. When one wants direction - he will take 10 dollars as an offering - give a detailed reading without asking a single question and will give the 10 bucks back after the reading. See, everyone ISN'T impressed or moved by money.

  • I have an even better deal! You give me ZERO money. YES that's right I said ABSOLUTELY FREE!! and I will tell you absolutely NOTHING! That's right NO INFORMATION. Zip, zilch, nada. > /dev/null. I also guarantee my absence of information to be 100% free of fallacious bullshit. I know it's hard to believe, but HEY! I'm a fair guy. Ask me no questions and I will tell you no lies.

  • @skepticoz haha, touché!

  • i want james randi to preform at my birthday party.

  • 1:39 - "From Money Talks...I'm Stacey Johnson."

That is some very convincing drag there Stacey, I defininitely thought you were a man.

  • James Randi should include proof of controlled demolition and gov conspiracy under proper investigative techniques and science in the challenge. I heard a few JREFers were considering a similar challenge. Of course the truthers would just claim the scientific method is rigged to suit the government's "story". ha.

  • this kinda reminds me of the disney channel movie now you see it now you don't

  • i new it was a circle and plus sign what else can i help you with? tell you what make it 3 million and a boat and maybe we can chat

  • Correction.Sylvia browne is not a medium :D

  • where's my million dollars?? i have a hoeopathic drug that i can prove works!! it's true! :)

  • That old dude is awesome, i think a magician who has been working in the field knows more about fakes then a lot of narrow minded people who think they know shit. I believe in god, I dont believe entirely in a couple money hungry faggots looking to attack any vulnerable soul that is grieving. James randi you kick ass, living your final years to prove a theory for the rest of mankind. 2 thumbs up.

  • @Valldyte222 are you a christian? if so, that makes your statement kind of funny, very hypocritical.

  • @Valldyte222 james randi is one of the few true atheist i truely respect and look up to, i applaude him for exposing these kooks.

  • @Valldyte222

this guy is on the same plane of awesome as Penn Jillette, of Penn & Teller fame. I love how these guys explain some of the common "magic" as nothing more than illusion. I want to see REAL magic, like in Harry Potter, with talking paintings and flying cars and shit. Anything else, i'll stick to science.

  • Its ironic, James Randi looks like a wizard.

  • He's an OG hater

  • Closed-minded skeptics are merely debunkers,” Bob Olson explains. “They are locked onto to their skepticism and wear it like a badge of honor. They don’t look for evidence first and draw their conclusions second. They have already made their conclusions and only seek evidence to back them up

  • @55normand The typical ad hominem attack to someone that challenges their beliefs with solid evidence. Ok, whatever

  • @ebrobaru Thank's for saying something I couldn't put into a sentence.

  • @mafatu32 your welcome

  • How can people be stupid enough to think that this guy will give a million dollar to somebody knowing that he is the only judge!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @55normand He´s not the only judge. At least get the right information before getting embarrassed.

  • How can people be stupid enough to think that this guy will give a million dollar to somebody knowing that he is the only judge!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cant there not be a Million Dollar God award also

  • He's also a athiest. No good.

  • I heard this guy is a child molestor. IDK if it is true or not.

  • But there's a lot of controvery now concerning Randi and this challenge. He has rudely brushed off certain claims without testing them, and when challenged by a fellow skeptic about whether the money is in potentially useless bonds he got his PR man to verbally abuse this querent also, later editing those abuses.

Not sure all this is just a fetish.

  • @Phavonic Some people are turned away because they just don´t want to go through the procedure. Simple as that. The money is in notarized bonds. Another typical claim of people that just find excuses not to take the challenge

  • how long can it go until we can say that supernatural things ARENT real, LOL.

Because im kinda tired of this ""Well, we cant say that is isnt for real either""" Well no, we cant, but seriously, how many attempts are they going to get to prove their case?

  • Ooohhh wait until I tell me friends... XD

  • Let's say $ 10 million negotiable to view this extraordinary phenomenon?

  • James Randi, may I have the million dollars? Thank you in advance.

  • Come on James Randi, is all this effort because you were a failed magician and you have to ruin it for everyone else? lol

  • Mr. Randi isn't afraid of anything - that's why he's put his money where his mouth is, so to speak.

  • Hey James Randi, what are you scared of? Seems like you have a very closed mind.

  • @HerosComment What makes you think he's scared of something? Putting up one million dollars for anyone to take just for proving they can do something beyond known science is the opposite of what a scared person would do.

  • @ninjajesus81 you heard me. You read it right.

  • james see this video?

    youtube.com/watch?v=euMxQs9_43k&feature=related i got u, /u use a fake thumb, mmm i smell 1000 dollars.

  • well, one day he meets a Darth Vader who breaks his neck from afar because he can't pay up.

  • Understand that things which are composed of non physical ( made of frequencies subtler than quarks, mesons and other particle waves composing matter) aspects of creation cannot be proved physically and cannot be validated with the 5 physical sense of material body. Until you comprehend this you will keep on denying the ultimate reality and greater aspects of universe. You are trying to prove with wrong tools

  • @Anoop20111

Yes, it can indeed be proven scientificaly. Name any ability that would not be able to be proven scientificaly and explain why. Any paranormal ability would easily be able to be tested even without measurement tools.

  • @neverhoodyn Get your tools to prove the paranormal. Research on Pranic healing- how to measure auras, sixth sense ability and accuracy of sixth sense reading. Visit spiritualresearchfoundation website and seach for ESP. Read the first search result. read about parameters determining the accuracy of ESP readings. Hope it helps you

  • @Anoop20111

Easy. Get a depressed person, have him act and pose as a happy person, let the medium look at his aura. Chances are that the "psycic" will see a "good" aura surrounding the person.

  • @neverhoodyn Aura reflects your true mental state. It has nothing to do with your physical appearance.Sizeand colours of aura varies from time to time based on emotional &mental state of a person. You can even take a photograph of aura using Kirlian photography. When you hear about new things, explore it. Do not judge it right/wrong with your current knowledge.Cultivate your ability to think beyond physical/ materialistic level.Being Judgmental and prejudiced is one's greatest hurdle for growth.

  • @Anoop20111

You completely missed my point. If you have a test person who on the outside looks and acts depressed but on the inside is generally happy. Don't you think most of these psycics would claim they see a weak aura surrounding the test person? This is how you can test if it's bullshit or not or alternatively have 20 aura readers look at the same test person, if there is such a thing as an aura then surely all the 20 psycics would see the same aura?

  • @neverhoodyn As a rational being, it is advised to not approach with criticism, rather approach with inquisitiveness to newer areas which we dont know at present. Your approach makes a huge difference to the outcome of your experiment when we explore things which are in the Quantum mechanical level and which deals with subtle vibrations which are more subtle than particle waves.

  • @Anoop20111

Aura reading has been tested multiple times in different situations in agreement to the aura readers terms. They have failed every time. Is it rational to then believe that there is such a thing as an aura when all scientific evidence points that it's a load of bullshit? No, you are not a rational being. No rational being would ever believe in a supernational power.

  • @Anoop20111

    Supernatural even*

It's been a long night. Name one reason why the 'person behind a wall test' would not work? Place someone behind a wall that is barely higher than said person. Let an aura reader locate the person based on the person behind the walls aura above his head. It's as simple as that. Anyone who can do this will get 1 million dollars.

  • @neverhoodyn Get your basics done before you get an answer to your question. Learn it and experiment it. Else you cannot comprehend it no matter how hard you try to understand it. If it was so easy, why most of us are not able to do these kind of readings?. I am not behind 1 million $ challenge. I don't have to prove to anyone, save myself.

  • @Anoop20111

So aura readers are basicly assholes since they could easily prove the existance of auras and gain 1 million dollars. This would change how we view the world today yet aura readers and other psycics somehow don't feel to prove the existance of supernatural powers? Even if they are not interested in money they could donate the 1 million dollars to starving kids.

  • @neverhoodyn

you surprised about Aura readers? what about bible readers? They can't prove what they believe in is truth either... and there are tons of paranormal and crazy mumbo jumbo going on there too!

  • @Anoop20111

Also, as a rational being i look at things critically as for you however read about Kirilan photography with out even questioning it. Any thing that is moist has an "aura" in a Kirlian photography. If you pour water on a rock, it will have an aura in the photography. Auras can not been seen in vacuum for example since there is no moist.

  • @neverhoodyn Evey animate and inanimate objetcs has an aura. As you understood partially it is also a radiation pattern. The aura has different levels classified based on the frequency of vibration. Kirlian photography in good in capturing the plasmic and bioplasmic( for inanimate and animate respectively) auras of up to certain frequency. As the name says the bioplasmic body is made of the 4th state of matter called plasma.

  • As we watch a person using Kirlian photography we can see that the aura increases and decreases in size based on the mental state of the person. If he mediates the aura keeps on growing. If he thinks netaively the aura keeps on diminishing. Also we can see certain energy centers called chakras in the photography which is seen as having specific shape and moves in half circles clockwise and anti clock wise. The speed on rotation varies on meditating on that energy center.

  • @neverhoodyn 2:The shapes revelaved by Kirlian photography has no explanation based on known medical facts on physical body. A clairvoyant person who can see the aura can very the facts with the photographs. What if the physic is saying the truth that he cannot see the aura sometimes? If you learn more on this subject, there are many realities which we could have never even imagined. I have attended a course on ESP and Clairvoyance and many people including me could experience the vision of aura

  • @Anoop20111 Read book written by masters Choa Kok Sui, Yogi ramacharaka could help you in your own quest for wisdom

  • Some of the vision which I got was accurate, I am not myself accurate in most of the cases. The master could tell almost 70% cases accurately. When the reading fails, it has to be explored and there are reasons behind every failure and that needs to be understood and corrected to cultivate this skill. Fist and for most thing is that it is a truth that such skills exists. If you want to explore on it you can explore.

  • @neverhoodyn Do not speculate and derive meaning of some thing which you dont know. What you dont know is what you"don't know". What all I have said has the basis in my own experience and by understating of the experience of close friends on this. It requires hard work, practice and a way of positive living inorder to cultivate these skills and to increase the accuracy of the readings.

  • @neverhoodyn In scientific approach we first record observations, then experiment yourself to experience it on your own, then asks the question to yourself why this is happening? What all causes a difference in readings? In next step he may postulate a theory which could explain the behavior and the theory keeps on getting revised based on new experiences. If in atleast 1 % of case we got a different result, there is still more to explore.

  • @Anoop20111

Chance is often higher than 1%.

  • @angelsssssssssssss 1. With all respect, I do not have any intention to abuse but my intention is to create questions in people's mind on their current understanding and perspective on things. Let people think on their own rather than taking Randi's words literally true. I 'm not saying all are like that but I feel most of them are like that from their comments.

  • @angelsssssssssssss perfectly put.

  • @angelsssssssssssss Most of the findings on aura has been published by the Grand Master of pranic healing Dr. Choa Kok Sui. My aim in life is to become a master in this field and demonstrate it to the world and to write about it. However I'm not interested in arguments but rather in constructive discussion. when you learn more about it you will understand why.

  • @angelsssssssssssss The master who taught me can tell what a person in a distant place is doing, he can read auras, heal a patient but when one person challenges him, he answers only if the intention of the person is to learn and understand and has a receptive or open mind else he remains inert to any emotions like ego or excitement or need of any fame. My intention is to tell you about a different path and it is your choice to explore it and learn.

  • @Anoop20111 Very convenient answer when challenged.

  • @ebrobaru You can never teach a person how to climb a tree in words. The person has to try it out himself, ask questions to get directions and then continue to experiment. Acquiring knowledge gets to a saturation point if you lack adequate experience to substantiate it. Also, explaining a 10th grade problem solution to a 1st grade student makes it incomprehensible for the student. People always look for ready made answers which they can swallow and take others truth literally as their's.

  • @ebrobaru Hence it is important how you define challenge.

  • @Anoop20111 Challenge means that somebody questions your claims, then you have to show evidence, hard solid evidence that leaves no doubt about it. However most people when challenged, just try to find an out, like in this case

  • @angelsssssssssssss 2. Dr. Randi is correct in many interpretations but for some he does not have complete information and I don't wish people to come to some judgement or become skeptical about some thing. I invite people to walk their on path to explore the truth. I have been a science student all over my life and I continue to do so professionally.

  • @angelsssssssssssss 3. I happened to study a course called pranic healing and it opened up a new world before me, a different dimension beyond time which could provide a different meaning to things in our known 4 dimensions. It is a study on the bioplasmic body which we call an aura in generic terms. We can touch and feel the aura and we can see it by practice. Your accuracy depends on your skill developed like in any other field.

  • @Anoop20111

An object is placed in contact with a photographic plate and connected to a source of high voltage, high frequency, low current electricity (the low current makes it harmless). Small coronal discharges are created by the strong electric field at the edges of the object. The frequency of the electricity excites electrons in the object so they ionize the surrounding air.

Not thinking rational is by far the greatest hurdle of growth.

  • @neverhoodyn Explore more on Pranic healing. Attend the Basic, Advanced and Physcotheraphy courses from a master. Reading books could provide you partial knowledge and you have to practice it under a master to make it your own skill. Learn on Reiki, experiment it and first understand that it works before jumping in to logics on how/ What and all

  • @Anoop20111

Reading books can provide partial knowledge??? What? So whatever this MAster of yours does, with all his might- he still can't WRITE? please people WAKE THE F**K UP!

  • @DrErkencho Words are mostly misinterpreted. When you could really feel the truth about a thing by your own experience only that becomes part of you. Reading books provide knowledge but it is totally different from wisdom.

Why there are so many interpretations of the holy books and so many streams of ideologies if people could understand the meaning of the holy books where it is clearly written in Words? Why the writer unable to transfer his experience to the reader so that he can just gulp it?

  • @Anoop20111

Randi actually debunked an "aura reader" a while ago.

Randi: Do you see an aura around my head?

    Aura-seer: Yes, indeed.

Randi: Can you still see tha aura if I put this magazine in front of my face?

    Aura-seer: Of course.

Randi: Then if I were to step behind a wall barely taller than I am, you could determine my locatin from the aura visible above my head, right?

    The aura-seer could not.

  • @Anoop20111

Or get a group of 20 psycics who claim they have the ability to see "auras". Have them all read the same person. I can guarantee you that everyone will see different auras.

  • This has nothing to do with God. It's all about psychic powers. Some people are very religious and believe God to be the only seer. They don't believe in human psychics. So.....this challenge has nothing to do with religion in general.

  • dammit I need some psychic powers. Gotta get through college!

  • I don't get how people can sit here and argue with James Randi. He put money where his mouth is (nb4 ignorant comments about how it's rigged... lmao!!) You've got money riding on this, we have the ability to capture these powers through cameras, organizations who will pay if you prove it, or any assortment of things and yet every true psychic out there is too humble to take up the challenge? I WISH someone would prove these things... It's depressing seeing how naive people are =/ TY James Randi!

  • james randi.......why did he ever live?

  • @jany717 to show the dumb ass people of this earth that all this paranormal shit is BS. If you cant do it nobody else can. we are all evolved from the same ancestors. they couldnt levitate stuff, read minds, talk to the dead and either can we. People should thank this man for opening a few eyes out there

  • HEY I will take the challenge =)

  • i love to see these fakes put down i convinced my wife about religion just through information like this it is all a bunch of hogwash

  • @dragonflychainsaw

Wait....if religion is hogwash, then were did life come from? And please provide unbiased proof. Thanks. I'm very curious about all this. I've personally seen ghosts and lived in haunted houses, so....

  • @compsciguy Abiogenesis occured on Earth after it had been bombarded with both water and amino acids from meteorites. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and DNA. Scientists have already made life themselves, and it probably won't be long before they know exactly how it did start or how it could have started that first time on Earth. Maybe they'll find that it could have happened in more than one way. Anyway, no "invisible man in the sky" will be needed to explain anything.

  • @winterstellar nice answer...in his face

  • @compsciguy By the way, the scientist who's leading the team that have created synthetic life is J Craig Venter. Like most top scientists he does not believe in any "god/gods/ghosts either, haha. Look him up in wiki or watch some of the videos here from when they created life without the aid of any skydaddy/god! Really interesting, non-religious/superstitious scientific stuff. CBS 60 minutes hd a show about him and that's on YouTube too. Cheers!!

  • @dragonflychainsaw are u saying that u convinced your wife about religion not being real?

  • @dragonflychainsaw lol, religion is worse.

  • @dragonflychainsaw - Big difference between those who lie and The Divine Religion, the Catholic religion. Outside the Catholic Church, there is no salvation.

  • @dragonflychainsaw o yea? so is it Satan that gives u breath & life to walk on the Earth that God created? religion is real.

  • @SOLIDC0LD, please explain how religion is true besides your personal opinions which you believe are facts.

  • @AstroWaldo because u have no religion (or believe in the Bible) & u question it, thats how. the Bible doesnt lie; no opinions, all facts. ppl dont do things according to religion just cause. there's a reason & blessings for those that obey & keep God's commandments. u dont believe it? prepare to burn in hell

  • @SOLIDC0LD and there we go again.the good old fear mongers.do you really believe that you can win souls by scaring them?face it you are out of business.we see arround us and see that christianity declines.and i believe first because its a man made religion, secondly because there is no love in christianity.only a few of them really show love.i dont speak about them.i believe those are the ones that really see god as a universal love.and not a man.

  • @witchcerridwen hey, it is written in multiple scriptures about fear. winning souls is obedience by both persons; christian & sinner. as long as i breath i am IN BUSINESS. your beliefs are on Satans behalf. read Romans 14:23 please. u cant think that man came up w/ religion. "those so called christians that dont love man or woman 'arent christians', but hypocrites that need deliverance." thats what Matthew 5:48 is talking about. if they only have love for God, then they arent christians

  • @witchcerridwen solidcold and cold is what you are i am sorry but your invented satan is not my god.i know christians when they go and evangelize.they are being told not to let people speak because everything they say is of the devil.if they dont understand something boem its of the devil.please educate yourself and you will see that everything in the bible is stole from the pagans.and that would not be such a problem if they just admitted it.but no they chose to stay blind.i feel sorry for u.

  • @witchcerridwen witches do the work of satan, just like u r doing now. educate yourself & u will see that everything witches do is stolen from satan & not to whoever u believe u r doing something for. once again u happen to know so called christians. what is "boem?" educate me on that. i feel sorry for u worse

  • @SOLIDC0LD

What if I believe in one of te other threethousand religions?

    Shall I burn to?

  • @Mesdriver "..of te.."? w/e that means. if there are commandments, the main 1 being "Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me" in those religions, then take your pick, but you should be smart enough to know there's only 1 God, regardless of the # of religions. i pay my tithes & offerings & get blessed from the 1 God i know. if you are confused, then do like me & watch your confusion go away

  • @SOLIDC0LD

Just prove that this "god" exists and you will be rich.

I do not think we wil ever hear from you again.

    Religious nutcase.

  • @Mesdriver "..we wil.." Just prove that you know what you are saying before showing everyone that you cant even spell. your weak attack is invalid until you at least persuade people that you have sense. if you read the reports about his so called challenge, you'd know like i know that it is pointless to accept it. i could easily point out scriptures & prophecies that are being fulfilled that should be plenty of proof, but he'll do like he does & deny it. YOU HEARD FROM ME

    Illiterate nutcase.

  • @SOLIDC0LD

You tell me I am illiterate, and you inputs are filled with misstakes, showing what a bonehead you are ( lile all other religious persons).

My native language is not English, I guess this shows.

And now I forgot the "h" in the, how stupid of me.

Im my opinion you are ready for a mental hospital ( if you are not already in one).

I expect a video soon where Randi hands over the check to you.

I do not think I will ever hear from you again.

    Pathetic moron.

  • @Mesdriver just like you called me a Religious nutcase, but i didnt cry like you. its hard to understand you, & you have trouble reading, so theres no need to show you valid points (LIKE all other non religious PEOPLE). ONCE AGAIN, IF YOU READ THE REPORTS ABOUT HIS SO CALLED CHALLENGE, YOU'D KNOW LIKE I KNOW THAT IT IS POINTLESS TO ACCEPT IT.

expect a video all you want, he will deny everything.

ONCE AGAIN, YOU HEARD FROM ME...AGAIN!

    concede defeat; you cant win

    Pathetic...whatever you are

  • @SOLIDC0LD

    I will await your video.

I do not expect to much of it.

    Loser......

  • @SOLIDC0LD Prophecies prove nothing. You know why? Because you always have to interpret them. And when you don't, they just aren't fullfilled. Like the rapture thing of may 21. The terms of the challenge are strict, yes. That way, if someone does win it, we'd know that to be real.

  • The technique used for don't check up the phenomenon:ridicule, quarrelled, demonize, everything has to end like this!

  • @martini4948 Uh, that was gibberish. Your native tongue? 8-)

wow hes basically saying James Randi is gonna die soon

  • You can't prove everything under controlled conditions on Earth. In my opinion that's the fatal error of the 'rationalist' paradigm.

  • @nemoz95 How else might you prove something?

  • @nemoz95 If u are psychic u should be able to pass a simple test quite easily. Im not saying nobody is psychic but I am saying we dont have the evidence.....and there have been many, many ,many frauds!

  • @1THETRUTH10 "If u are psychic u should be able to pass a simple test quite easily ."

I object & I have a counterexample to disprove your assumption. Suppose a psychic has the ability to psychokinetically influence outcomes from a random system, but its effect-size is tiny. What is the probability of this psychic passing a single test from the JREF? Answer: Mostly unlikely because 1) effect-size is tiny & 2) it depends on the statistical power of the test.

  • @angelsssssssssssss Ok say u have a lottery ball machine and (and btw having a physical influence is not what most psychics claim to do) and they say they can influence the out come, but like u say they only have a tiny affect. Well say they get one ball right that is way within the laws of chance, so yes no proof of ability.Extrodinary claims require extrodinary evidence....do u not find it suspicious that no proof exists. Yet soooooo many frauds.Check out derren brown, better than any psychic!

  • @1THETRUTH10 You didn't disprove my counterexample in any way. You are correct that getting a ball right in a single trial is not evidence of psychokinesis and it is based on the laws of probability; however, this is because the sample-size is too tiny to be considered statistically significant. Anyway, suppose the psychic did a PK Dice-Tossing Test with enough sample-size & the psychic failed. Does that prove that the psychic doesn't have PK? No, there are many possible explanations (Continue)

  • @1THETRUTH10 1) The statistical power may be weak 2) The effect-size is tiny, etc. It has been prevalently shown that an effect that has a tiny effect-size cannot be detected under few experiments/studies. For instance, if you look at the Aspirin Meta-Analysis which was published in British Medical Journal in 1988, you would see that only 5 out of 25 studies came out positive. If a skeptic saw these studies one by one, the skeptic can easily dismiss it and state that there is no evidence.

  • @1THETRUTH10 To make this more vivid, suppose someone claimed that Aspirin has an effect of reducing the chances of heart attacks. Now suppose a skeptic tested that claim in a single test and failed to provide any evidence. The skeptic can confidentiality dismiss his claim as bullshit, but the skeptic has made a big mistake. If you constantly do the tests and combine them which is known as meta-analysis, you would see evidence of it. Why is that? That's because the effect-size is tiny.

  • @1THETRUTH10 "Extrodinary claims require extrodinary evidence...."

I agree with that; however, the word extraordinary is very subjective.

"do u not find it suspicious that no proof exists. Yet soooooo many frauds."

I'm not surprised that there are so many frauds since fraudulent cases are ubiquitous. Fraud exist in other subjects, not just in paranormal things. But still, that doesn't prove that the paranormal is a bunch of bullshit. Lack of evidence is not equal to nonexistent.

  • Psychokinesis TEST easier than that! See through the hands..

Psychokinesis TEST: see through our hands, easier than that! Keep your hands tight on eyes, the hands are a barrier between you and the Target must to see.(see the photos in my blog)

  • Dott.James Randi,

I really appreciate his work as the unmasking of fraud, as well as Dott.Massimo Polidoro, mah! When we meet James Randi's Million Dollar Challenge "

I am poor financially, I can hardly move could come to Trieste? I am an old man with health problems..

    Thanks.

  • People who pay money for bullshit like Sylvia Browne deserve to be scam victims - I mean... go to her website, watch the video, it is the most ridiculous thing ever...

  • @Saladbowl

I know but I don't like to think like that...I used to think the same thing about religious people. Just let them get conned by all these pastors and ministers who take all their money and give them absolutely nothing in return...no harm done to me. But, the thing is, if you're going to be a realist and an intellectual then you must act objectively despite whatever "feelings" or "thoughts" that may cloud your judgment. The best thing we can do is improve the quality of life for all.

  • only lasts a couple of years cause that old guy is gonna drop soon

  • @nldm561 No, this challenge has been around since about 1996. There are (at least) two parts of the test, an initial demonstration of ability followed by a controlled test of ability. The James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) or an affiliated organization incurs a cost testing cranks. If no one has been able to "beat" the challenge in 17 years...

Use Occam's Razor to fill in the rest. If you don't know what that is, you should not be posting on this video.
