@sammetje02 something similiar but its not the exact final boss something like dragon quest 8 where its an optional boss and out of dragon quest 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 nokturnus was the hardest boss for me

@sammetje02 Sort of. Nokturnus/Darkdrium appears in the original of DQ VI as an optional boss, and if/when you beat him he destroys the final boss for you.

2 mistakes:

1- You don't need all classes to at least level 5 for the door to be opened. The door was available for me although none of my characters had ever been a Ranger, and so a torch on the right was off. So I guess you may just need to finish the game (beat Mortamor) first.

2- You don't get the Gospel Ring from the secret boss, but from the Abbey elder once you've got all vocations to at least level 5.

@thesupermexicoman for me totally. if you are a hardcore rpg that loves lvl grinding, maxing classes and love a great story. you will find yourself right at home.

@warnexus I like this game, but Dragon Warrior Monsters for gbc seems a lot more fun. The ability to raise and breed monsters to make more powerful different ones seems more appealing than having the same people through the entire game.

In the DS version the door seems to open upon beating the game, rather than having to build every class.

I didn't even have half of the intermediate classes done or unlocked, much less any advanced ones besides Lizzie's dragon when I beat the game but the door opened for me. Had Gladiator, Sage. Luminary and Ranger. No armamentalist, paladin, etc

@DogiTheWallcrusher oh okay i guess it is not a requirement. i did not see a hint about where the secret boss was until i beat the final boss a second time. and by then my all classes were all maxed out
