Agree with you as a Simcity title it sucks. Though as a game its ok. I think EA told Tilted Mill (Maxis didn't do this game) to model it after City Life to have a new type of city simulator but make it easier.

Thanks for the review! I agree with you, I like it, yet i don't like it. I've been a Sims fan all my life, playing the simcity games and the sims games. This game is sort of a mix of both. Whenever I truly want to focus on building a city, I go back to simcity 4. Other than that, it's a wonderful game. Thanks for sharing your point of view.

I definitely think this game was meant to be creative, not strategic. I think instead of categorizing it as simcity game they could have just done well enough naming "SimSocieties:, because in all other sc games there is a complex strategy and this game lacks it by 99%. Otherwise it is a really awesome "software toy". Its just something cool to play around with to see what you come up with.

for a simcity game, it's crap, but really, the game is not that bad, I don't really like that it's too simple, not really realistic, and well, creative, I really don't think it's that creative, but i don't mind playing it. i guess is personal likes rather than being good or bad, some like realistic hectic games, others more relaxed and slower.

I don't like Sim City to tell you the truth, but I picked up Sim City Societies because it was advertised on The Sims 2 website and as I saw the videos which looked cool. So I gave it a try.

I turned out really liking this game. I love how it gives you control versus your city building itself. I actually like that it's relaxed, because I really don't like challenging games where I either die all the time or can't figure out how to win. The game is more complex than people give credit to.

wisst ihr was ich denke?  das nexte spiel von sim city soll zusammen mit leben von sims abhängen. ich meine man soll in die häuser von sims oder in andere gebäude einfach mit camera rein kommen dürfen und angucken was sims machen und gleichseitig weiter stadt bauen oder auch zerstören und natürlich auch spas haben. denn so kann man doppelt soviel spas haben, wenn man noch gucken kann was deine bürger in gebäuden und in eigenen häusern so treiben.

Like I commented on another video, the greatest mistake in this game was to carry the Sim City in the title. But anyways, I think I could have liked it more if it didn't make things so slow on my PC once I get a bigger city.

yes i love this game, but if you read the simcity website, they tell you that societies IS simcity 5, but they decided to add societies to the end because of the differet social classes and stuff like that.

Your review hits the spot, Societies is not a traditional SimCity title and shouldn't be compared as such. If people are closed minded and want to stick to the old design they will suredly hate the new title, but for people who are open to a new experience the game rocks. Societies is absolutely the most moddable city building game to date, the fact that you can style a city around so many different varieties from authoritarian to capitalist or romantic is quite cool. Glad I got it.

Tilted Mill Entertainment - PLEASE stick to your ancient era city building games (Children of the Nile, Caeser IV etc) and stay the fuck away from modern city building games with the same style of gameplay because it simply DOES NOT WORK REALISITCALLY!

It depends, if you loved Sim City, then you won't really care for this title, but if you are open to the idea of not creating a huge city, but are in favor of a more genuine city building then try it.

Nice review. However, the game was not that great. So many bugs, even with patches. Its almost unplayable. Also there are like no challagenges so the game is a drag and drop game. I suggest City Life 2008 edition. Way better. But, nice job on review though.

City life 2008 is pretty good. I mean if you dont have world edition dont get it. If you dont have the orginal or only own the orginal city life.

It's usually on the game disc, you'll have to root around the directory's, or do a google search for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and the second link will give you the download.

You can't really bribe anyone, the pollution to me is more of an annoyance in the game as it fogs up the screen. The hospitals seem to help all over the city wherever they are placed.

I like to build big cities but unfortunately when the game enters the 3d world you need more powerful hardware which can be very expensive, one of the reasons why I was so disappointed with societies (good review though)

I like the Simcity Titles but I also like this game. It seems a nice stand-alone game. In Simcity I did ocassionally wish I could place the individual buildings out of pure curiosity. It seems more of an art-project than city planner.
