  • Wow I am impressed! the thing that I notice most is the floating film grain, It really retains the look of an old still photograph, while being 3D... In other words it looks like an antique 3D photograph, without looking animated.

I guess the key to this is "extrapolation", isn't it?

(As in, filling in the blank spaces behind objects that you will now see, or does the program automatically do that for you?)

  • @MiKikaIwaShizaru yes...you have to use photoshop to recreate the background...there is tut out in space..

  • bg music: Imogen Heap - Have You Got It In You?

    great music, love it!

  • amazing

  • that took a lot of hard work and looks so beautiful, great choice of bg music as well.good job man.

  • it's a collage of layer with photos, not a real reconstruction

  • Очень понравилось, мечтаю научиться так же в ближайшем времени...

  • Hey Jan...what was this made for? it's really exceptional - and how long did it take you to make? thanks ;)

  • excelent

this video is very difficult and you must to have a lot of patience and good skills to make this art work... is very nice, congratulations

  • Meaning the person has unbelievable photo shopping skills. People on the internet are like first graders in grown up bodies, just looking for spite. Go back to your halo and twilight saga.

  • @java2000 my comment was factual as I'm the kind of person with the skill to make actual 3d reconstruction algorithms unlike this video which is a complete fabrication. the photos are composites of several photos layered in some video compositing software. these 'photos' never existed. google around for actual 3D reconstruction algorithms. and I don't play halo. ironically you were describing your own behavior

  • @DanFrederiksen Before you criticise others why dont you at least attempt to showcase your work - and just so you know this isnt JanEmils work its just on his channel - it was done for an intro to a movie - and never once does it state that these "photos" do exist - Of course they dont - theyre just layers put into 3D space - but its done with a great eye and is without question the best example of 3D photos Ive seen - and do me a favour look up the meaning of "irony" you fuckin moron

  • @DanFrederiksen And actually the majority of the photos do exist - some just have bits and pieces added - but thats what this type of work is about - its art - something you wouldnt understand you sexually frustrated algorithmic nerdy fuckbag

  • @tiarnan76 well you're right, I was probably too eager to communicate ym disappointment that this wasn't done algorithmically. as art or work to give the pictures life it's very well done. I do however still feel that the sparse description of the video can mislead people to think that it's actual still photos we're travelling in, extracted through some technique. that aside it's very well done

  • que me alguien pase un tutorial de como hacer esto please!

  • muy bueno

  • Awesome!!

  • Fantastic video.. fantastic music..

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • Simply smashing! Teach me how to do this!

  • AWESOME!!!! The music really flows well too. A+

  • OH please someone tell me how this tecnique is called..and what program is used..I want so much a tutorial about it...PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEASE ;~~~~

  • Photoshop and After effects. If you never worked in those software maybe it's better to give up in the start

  • Can be done in After Effects after cutting up the images in Photoshop. Each layer in After Effects is switched to 3D and then you create a new camera.

The camera can then be movied around and the depth of field can be played around with.

It's really alot of work especially what you see in THIS video, it's been done brilliantly !!!!!!

  • you dont really need to cutting the images in photoshop... you can make layer masks in after effects

  • fully agree !! done brilliantly !!!

  • thats pretty good. i just learned how to do that with after effects.

  • @gjvmnd: hi there, you wouldn't have a link to a tutorial for this? I'm mostly interested to the first bit with the pictures falling into the frame

  • That's brilliant , well done

  • awesome!

  • WOW, like everyone else has said, this is brilliant.

  • What software is this made with?

  • my favorit 3d photo animation video!

  • Very nice...how much does something like this cost to create? It'd ne nice to promote your services.

  • These are the kinds of videos deserving of a million views. You should update your descriptions and tags so more people will find this.

  • Hey Mr JanEmile, that'd be nice to show who REALLY MADE THIS... That's someone else 2007 Demo Reel....

  • This is one of the most brilliant 2.5d animations I have ever seen. I have one of my own as the intro to "Phoenix" on my video page, but this one is completely beyond anything I've seen.

Stunning work. I've watched it 5 times and it's still amazing.

  • great work!
