Buying one this Friday! I would get a Jupiter 8 or a Andromeda but for an 18 year old kid this should suffice! To anyone who has never had an analog synth i recommend one i started on a Juno 106 and you can't get the warmth and Presence from digital machines.
Thanks man... this is the first time I ear the real potential of this machine... If I buy one of these or a Evolver, I will purchase your awesome patches!
@Senj1n sorry but you know analog as always a better juice in pure synth domain. if you go digital omnisphere or absynth why not, but i've started making music since 1994 and im a pure gearhead freak, when i listen to an analog synth it bring me so much memory.
Dude that's awesome, the guy who played toto africa convince me to buy that keyboard but your patch trance are so gorgeous if only the producer of electro used that for produced music today, we can have much more better track.
this is a great soundset, I downloaded it and LOVE it, I think it's important to point out that these demo songs use a good amount of effects which are done outside of the prophet, the prophet itself doesn't have these effects or any for that matter...

@Drewbyy i think for contemporary times, both are essential and compliment each other well. Digital synths should be used for digital sound, an analog for analog sounds. Its when companies and artists try to emulate the rawness and organicism through emulations that such digital synths can't possibly hold up.
Hello, Alan, thank you for giving me the song name. I found a trance version of this. so my next question is if the music here is a cover done by you, if yes, can you send me this? I am arranging a dream version of this song. greetz daniel
This is going to be the next keyboard I purchase without a doubt. The sounds are so gorgeous, it now makes me wonder why I thought digital was good in the first place. Price was probably the most off-putting thing, but that won't be an issue after a few months.
You sir, have just introduced me to one of the most glorious modern synthesizers to ever grace the musical world. Kudos. \m/
@HyperSonic707 dude, i have both, including a prophet. If i where you i would get a prophet if the andromedas out of reach and a roland D50, this will give you best of both worlds on a tight budget
Excellent work! Truly Analog all the way. Great use of effects to open up the sound - gives a tasty ambience. When I listen to this and my old files of P08 recordings I miss the Prophet and the way it records...full and warm. I am thinking of getting one of DSI's tetras.
The Proghet is just down right amazing sounding. Songs like this really show the unbelievable quality of analog synths at their best. Now just to able to afford this bad boy!
Love the first song, that ambiance is beautiful man! Three thumbs up!
@TheMagiAlexander The P08 actually has no Sine wave for whatever technical reason. You can just barely create one using the filter and proper filter stepping. One of my patches does this, I beleive.
@weaponEX Arturia makes some pretty good instruments. Although the weak point on them is the envelopes. The OSCs and Filters are pretty damn close to the instruments they are emulating, though.
But my main issue with Arturia synths is that, while the instruments they are emulating *soudn* great, they were not very powerful. They try to add some "software only" features, but they don't do enough to match the features of a good modern analog.
I agree with you, but when you don't know how to make sounds it's great to have presets you can fiddle with and make your own, and see how they are constructed. I bet most sound designers started there.
I actually liked the Prophet '08 a lot more than the Evolver. I can't really say I'm a fan of anything from DSI presently, though. I don't own any of their instruments anymore.
well...im a synth snob, and i have a pretty good tuned ear. i know its analog (im not stupid), but its still missing girth on the low end. it breaks apart a bit like a virtual. its more in the sub-harmonic content that im talking about. im not the only person who thinks this. shoot this out against the mono or poly evolver and they smoke this prophet 8.
whats wrong with saying what i've heard. its not like im attacking anyone personally. YES it doesn't have the sub harmonic quality that the poly evolver or especially the mono evolver has. i think they probably skimped on a few parts like possibly routing analog signals through multiplexers that don't sound good. im not saying that the prophet 8 sucks. im just saying that when i played one, i felt like it could have been made just a little bit better.
I had a blofeld about a year ago and wound up selling it. I didn't like the interface. I do now own a Waldorf Q, though. The Blofeld can take patches from the Q, I believe.

HyperSonic707 1 year ago
@777RavenousWolf777
maybe you already bought one,
but as the voyager is monophonic, and the PE (or PEK) is 4-voice,
I'd go for a Prophet 08, if you want to play chords (live, and don't multitrack).
Everything else: Go for a PEK! Got one, love it... or a Blofeld, totally different, but great ;)
