@BabkenBMW mmm no mercedes is a bit better than BMW, think of the CL65 S65 and SL65, all three of those cars are pretty much as good as they get, but make no mistake, BMW is very close behind, i do think that Idrive is better and BMW's X SUVs are better than the mercedes M-class and GL-class because they are more stylish

As distinct from you, I drove Mercedes cars as well but Mercedes can never come close to BMW in terms of making excellent automobiles. My words are backed up with sales numbers and other numerous victories of BMW over Mercedes-Benz unlike yours. If Mercedes is better suited for your daily needs, then God bless you. But for me and vast majority of premium segment buyers BMW is the ultimate choice.

BMW - 555,429 units;

Mercedes-Benz - 490,021 units;

Audi - 535,350 units.

Starting from 2005 BMW has been reigning supreme in the premium segment kicking mercedes ass badly. So stop being an ignorant asshole and go learn clear facts.

I am an 12 year fully certified auto technician with extensive experience on Chrysler & Mercedes-Benz products at the dealership level. The Benz costs more for a reason. Crash it, keep it for 200,000 miles, visit the design & proving grounds or compare the grade of raw materials used and you will understand why they cost more.

On paper, going by features and equipment, you will never be able to justify the price. Look beneth the surface and you will see what makes it a Mercedes Benz..

@superamerica1981 Comparing a Mercedes-Benz to a Dodge is a horrible feaux pas. Let me put it to you this way, if you could get a Chrysler up to 300km/h, would you want to crash in it? Mercedes-Benz has been engineering safe, incredibly fast, luxurious and finely tuned machines for over 100 years (all while never taking bailout money, unlike GM). I suggest you purchase a Mercedes-Benz, own and live with it and then sit in a Chrysler, Lincoln or Caddy. You'll immediately notice the diff.

Yup that's right but why race at 12 000feet ? Of course because it gives the Lincoln a chance, NA engine sucks at high altitude while twin turbos are the best at that height. Race at sea level and see the Mercedes rape the Lincoln in the ass.

well yes but i don't think it's anything special to beat a v8 with a turbocharged v6 .. they should compare this car to ones with similar engines, and there are some, but a naturally aspirated engine will always feel better & smoother to drive... good to see that american carmakers are atleast trying & improving nowadays because until now they have failed pretty miserably, and also all of these euro cars have sport versions available too - the one's shown here have a different purpose really...

Actually, these things do really make those sounds. A big V8 is a big V8. If you hear somebody floor one of these cars in person, you could mistake it for some old American muscle car.
