  • You DO NOT want to go to TUJ if you're trying to get an education. The calculus teacher can't even subtract 3 from 11 in his head. What kind of bullshit is that? Seriously. How the fuck am I suppose to learn calculus from this idiot?

  • Thank you. This video was very encouraging and extremely helpful. I'm moving in tomorrow! Maybe I will get your old room.

  • LOL cliff. didnt know you stayed at the dorm too.

  • @sasukekitty4 If you spell "accepted" like "excepted," then maybe.

  • did he just say western style toilets? lol

  • @kayallhood Many older Japanese establishments and houses have squatting toilets, so we distinguish them by calling them "western style" toilets, as in ones you can sit down on, as that's a western custom.

  • Grats to everyone heading out this fall. I'm aim'ng for next summer... I hope, we'll see.

Thanks for the video, exactly what I was looking for. Since I'm a packrat I have waaaaaay too much stuff, so I just needed to know how big the rooms where so I could plan ahead. Not too shabby, better than some barracks I stayed in when I was in the military. Soooooo glad internet's taken care of with, fridge too.

  • Thanks for the video! I'm going this fall and it's nice to have extra videos so I know what to expect!

  • Room is purty tiny =(

*cough* Also not too happy about the fact that the showers have 'curtains' rather than doors =/

Anyway ty for the video really useful ^^

  • what a tiny room!

  • This is very inspirational. I would LOVE to be in this dorm when I attend in the fall. =) Hope you're still attending!

  • awesome! This is good to know since I'll be attending TUJ fall '08.

  • oh man, duuuuuude!! thanks a million man....I'm really thinking of attending Fall of 08 and I want to see how it is before I choose where to live.....anyway, thanks a lot man, really, haha

  • Yo Cliff, it's Chris S. (We ever really talked much, but hey)

Nice video, I'm sure it will be very helpful, provied people know it's here.

  • What is this nonsense...lol. Weight room in the middel of the entrance?? Hmmmm Where's the chu-his', the drunken parties, Club 113.. tsk tsk people you're in Japan...live it up

  • IM GONNA VISIT YOU!

  • clifffffffff

  • Awesome dude! I'm leaving for Japan to go to TUJ this January, leaving on the fifth and arriving on the sixth. It's nice to have a better idea of what to expect. I'm sure I'll have enough surprises!

  • Hey, I was wondering if you could give me advice on the weather. I'm going to TUJ for spring semester and I have no idea how cold it should be/what i should pack for. I live in Boston now and its always freezing here... any suggestions?

  • Mm, I've heard January and February are the coldest months of Japan .. I have no idea how cold it is in Boston though ^^. To tell you the truth, I just moved here Fall semester of 07. Hope that helps some~

  • The winter/spring ontakesan crew of 2006 will always be the original click.

    We owned that place!

    Its forever in my heart.

  • omg thanks so much! I just got off the phone with the admissions counselor like...2 hours ago! now i have a general feel of what the dorms are like! Can't wait to apply/get accepted :D

  • Thanks for posting this video! I'm going to TUJ starting in January, and right now I'm picking which dorm I want to live in, so I've been really curious as to what they look like inside. (I really want to have a roomate so I hope to get into TUJ House, but who knows what will happen.)

  • I was thinking about going to TUJ aswell for a semester. Are all the dorms like that or can you get like twin-share rooms that have their own kitchen and stuff?

Also are there mainly only American students that go there?

Like the XPS 1710 aswell ;)

  • It is possible to get your own kitchen and stuff but very difficult in Ontakesan. I believe Leopalace gives you your own. and I'm not sure about other TUJ houses.

and, Yeah I'd say it's about 50% Japanese and 50% foreigners half of the foreigners being American. (thats my guess though) ;0)

    Hope that helps~

  • I know the trick to the coke thing. The bigger one is less because you probably won't finish it (found out on the internet). Anyways, cool vid. THANX!

  • is it hard to get accepted there?

  • TUJ?

Not really. Especially if you're a native English speaker ;0)

  • is it expensive?

  • Yeah, TUJ is real expensive. It's maybe $30,000-$35,000 a year (including living expenses). A lot of transfers say that TUJ is real easy. I'm here for the Japanese though, so I'm having fun. =]

  • how do u pay for a international school like that because for most college based loans u need to go to a usa or canada school

  • I'm using a Stafford Loan. Keep in mind this is still an American school and the main campus is in Philadelphia. Honestly, This is my first semester so my dad helped me with my first loan, I'm not sure whether he listed TUJ or just used the main campus when applying for my loan.. but yeah.. It is possible. =]. (i'm from states)

  • thanx so much for the information!

  • Thx for the video im looking foward to goin there lol
