  • Simon & Garfunkel version is still the best ....

  • it was put together well, but i dont like her voice too much.

  • beautiful...(:

  • best interpretation heard for a long time.

  • This is very hard .Originally I thought Njord version was the best Ive heard. But this version has a bit of womanly love and warmth to it. It s hard to describe. both versions are epic.

  • This song loved all over world. Leaves' Eyes are a German band with a Norwegian singer, Paul Simon is American, I've heard it sung in Ireland and I even heard it played by a Peruvian pan-pipe band from the Andes.

  • I've listened to both versions of this song by this band, and it's hard to determine which is better, but for the time being, I'd like to say they're both as good as each other

  • I like this version better than the one from Njord ^.^

  • A folk song, that seems to get no credit by the original Duo who did... If it weren't for Simon & Garfunkel, people wouldn't be able to debate, Sarah Brightman or Leave's Eyes.. I always look at who did the song originally... they all have there merits... All versions I have heard are great in there own rights, and time period... A folk song updated... Not bad...

  • @Razzzzman

    Agreed! Each has their place and is great in their own right. Each has their place in time, and I am pretty certain those that sang the original had only positive intentions of paying homage to such a great song. Even in the new Bayonetta game, the designer was a fan of S&G and named the 4 guns Bayonetta uses Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme...you have to really look to notice it, very nice touch.

    This song is a traditional English air with roots going back before the 18th century. No one knows who originally wrote or sang it.

  • You do know that they did not make the original either, right? This song has been around for a few hundred years. Simon & Garfunkel just exposed it.

  • @GreenDayFtw0 Yes it was originally based off of a medieval poem. Was then taken and adapted repeatedly

  • actuallyyyyy.... I go for Liv... she adds like more feelings to the song <3

  • Actually I'm trapped between Sarah and Liv... I really can't tell which I like more x3 Maybe Live :D she ended the song so divinely *O*

  • i listen to this song everyday!!!!

  • I love Sarah Brightman, she's one of my favorite singers BUT I LOVE this version much more than Sarah's or any other version I've heard.

  • Even more interesting, Scarborough Fair still occurs every year! O_O

  • It's also entirely possible that it was meant to end the phrase, if you look into it a bit you'll see how over the years those lyrics have changed. Initially, it was a different line. Go go gadget history!

  • beautiful song indeed... but I really don't get the part when she says : '' parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme '' someone can help please ?

  • this is meant symbolic. in the middle age the plants often had a symbolic character too.

    for example

    sage = strenght

    rosemary = loyality

    thyme = courage

  • I love Leaves' Eyes...

    Beautiful version! But my favorite is still Sarah Brightman's. :)

  • Wow, this version is really beautiful :)

    I like it very much! Their whole new album "njord" is pretty cool! check it out =)

  • I really like this version of the song, my fave version used to be by Sarah Brightman, but I like this one way better!

  • it's not irish, it's from the medieval england. but yes, this song is so beautiful and this is one of my favourite versions

  • i love this song :3 she sounds good it is a good irish song
