I love this "What if" bullshit. I bet if half of you attempted this you would either get your buddy killed or look like a pile of shit doing it. It's a DRILL. You know in wrestling practice we would do hundreds of double and single leg take downs before moving on every day in practice, anyone who has wrestled knows that those drills never workout so nicely and smoothly in an actual match. Same thing applies for this, it builds the foundations so that when the occasion arises, you can adapt.
I love how you guys are side line judging this guys and @Kalima I doubt you are in anyway shape or form better at anything regarding carbine manipulation. These guys are the best in the business. I've had the honor to shoot in the presence of Chris Costa, these guys are above studs man... It's a LIVE FIRE DRILL so what if one of them changed mags from outside cover, the purpose behind this drill is when taking contact, to maneuver to the enemy while maintaining a solid base of fire
@TheActiveAssault Its a training exercise not every situation will call for a stationary static shooting position so the saying hope for the best and prepare for the worst comes into mind. In training its useless if you shoot and apply no stress on yourself and in a situation where bullets are being exchanged the only thing certian are yourown shooting skills. Train Hard -Tom

These guys are good. Com is one of the most important things in a firefight. Their loud and clear over the fire, some guys will whisper in a firefight and that's just silly.
0:50 before i start let me say that im aware this is the FIRST TIME they have EVER done this...however this is one of the easist ways to shoot a friendly. a good friend of mine was extremely lucky while over in iraq when they were engaged by hostiles they took cover behind a wall in a similar manner my friend was the one standing up and was firing over his friends head when the man kneeling stood up suddenly and at that moment his gun jammed. he says if it hadnt he wouldnt have had time to stop
@MarinesForever123 Your muzzle brake, recoil buffer and such can really affect how a given AR-15 or M16 recoils, but it also has to do with their aggressive stance and how tight they pull the rifle in.
It looks like they are behind cover, but its hard to say because of the angle. Its also not really clear exactly where the "threat" is, which is kinda important when trying to determine where cover is. Anyway, I ordered dynamic handgun and Im really pumped for it to arrive, I doubt these guys are the last word on gunfighting but I think the vid is going to b worth it. Still waiting for Chris do art of the dynamic beard. That'd be gospel.
Terrible moving stance by the guy nearest the camera, changing mags while near cover but exposed (multiple times by both of them), not looking downrange while exposed...how many of you dudes actually paid money for this crap?
@kalima275 It is a moving and communication drill while keeping a constant rate of fire going. It is hard to show that they are behind cover most of the time because we did not want to cut the continuous moving shot.
In any case feel free to post a video response showing us all, "how it is done".

@kalima275 As stated previously this is an unrehearsed, shooting, moving, reloading and communication drill. You refer to a "Terrible Moving stance" and say the whole thing is "crap". OK show us how it is done. You can even practice and post the best version.
It should be noted that this drill was the first time Chris and Travis had EVER shot together and they had no practice run at all. Is the drill perfect? No, but that is what they teach. Push yourself to the point of failure and learn.

@kalima275 It's difficult for you to prove what you asserted without seeing the action from multiple angles. Viewing from only one angle doesn't give you enough info. Our minds can be easily tricked, and this is how optical illusions work. The operators are experienced enough with barricades and their weapons to have stopped and fired from a "sweet spot" that required little to no lean to the left or right when firing.
@makman1962 Good points but you can clearly see the one guy engaging a target, not leaning/moving at all and reloading in exactly the same position/location. There is no "sweet spot" that you can practically engage a target from that doesn't also leave you vulnerable to be engaged. Optical illusions have nothing to do with the fact that whatever you can shoot using a sight picture, can shoot you.
@kalima275 Thanks for keeping it civil. I agree with your last point, but not your first. Shooting from cover only reduces one's chance of being shot, so an operator is always vulnerable. It's all about mitigation, not elimination and I think that is what you are driving at in regards to my poor choice of words with "sweet spot". :-) I get your arguments overall; I just think the jury is out on how egregious these mistakes were until we get more information.

They're covering each other effectively and are above all COMMUNICATING. Yeah Chris wasn't exactly behind cover for a few mag changes, it's still better than what a lot of shooting schools put in their practiced versions.

But there is also a time where you might miss the guy trying to flank you because you are staring at your magwell behind cover lookin like a target. Plus Mr. Haley had a constant stream of lead when Costa didn't. You gotta take into account the fact if that were real the bad guy would be pinned down decently, peace.

On an IAD either forward or breaking contact, you reload on the move. Never break in suppressing the enemy. Even the damn SAW gunner reloads on the move (and that fucking sucks) but having people inside of 75m shooting at you sucks more.

@DrChrispocalypse Yes, this type of drill is always inherently dangerous; but when you train constantly to be skilled at it dangerous becomes relative to how competent you are at weapon manipulation and shooting in general. This video may not be perfect, but I know I would not want to be on the business end of this gunfight.

Sick of these air soft guys.. hell even the paintball jackass's. I went to a paintball field a few years ago with my buddy. Thinking we'd get our tails handed to because these guys were serious woodball guys.. well the exact opposite happened. All the high end guns, gear, etc...hell even a guy in a "ghillie suit" got it handed to them. Myself and my friend against 20 or so.... we lasted until the airhorn( which didn't happen for 20 min). You guys need real world training....
While I've have never tryed paintball..airsoft is pretty fun, if you live in Cali (which I hope you don't for the sake of you owning real firearms) there are alot of good field and CQB places that have ex-military guys, plus you use gear and guns basically the same as real life so you can really see how you do, its quite fun, better then shooting paper at the range for me.
Alot of states have good CQB places, its fun to do on the weekends to unwind, highly recommended

@KrysisAirsoftCMDR if they wanted to simulate Afghanistan, they would be using dirt berms and dried up irrigation ditches to shoot from, as well as holes in compound walls made of mud. Training for combat has become shooting airsoft guns at each other...what has the world become?

Those shapes you call... probably just a tool to show you that you may not have the clearest shot in a fight. You may only have a few inch gap in a wall to go neutralize the enemy. And I don't think they were trying to simulate an afghan village.
Good movement and trust, and safe muzzle awareness between the two operators this is how it goes down.in.a break contact drill or.an ambush react drill to aggress the enemy with a.constant volume of sustained fire as u move...its the best way to survive an ugly situation like.an ambush

I love this "What if" bullshit. I bet if half of you attempted this you would either get your buddy killed or look like a pile of shit doing it. It's a DRILL. You know in wrestling practice we would do hundreds of double and single leg take downs before moving on every day in practice, anyone who has wrestled knows that those drills never workout so nicely and smoothly in an actual match. Same thing applies for this, it builds the foundations so that when the occasion arises, you can adapt.

I love how you guys are side line judging this guys and @Kalima I doubt you are in anyway shape or form better at anything regarding carbine manipulation. These guys are the best in the business. I've had the honor to shoot in the presence of Chris Costa, these guys are above studs man... It looks like they are behind cover, but its hard to say because of the angle. Its also not really clear exactly where the "threat" is, which is kinda important when trying to determine where cover is. Anyway, I ordered dynamic handgun and Im really pumped for it to arrive, I doubt these guys are the last word on gunfighting but I think the vid is going to b worth it. Still waiting for Chris do art of the dynamic beard. That'd be gospel.

@kalima275 It is a moving and communication drill while keeping a constant rate of fire going. It is hard to show that they are behind cover most of the time because we did not want to cut the continuous moving shot.

@kalima275 As stated previously this is an unrehearsed, shooting, moving, reloading and communication drill. You refer to a "Terrible Moving stance" and say the whole thing is "crap". OK show us how it is done. You can even practice and post the best version.
It should be noted that this drill was the first time Chris and Travis had EVER shot together and they had no practice run at all. Is the drill perfect? No, but that is what they teach. Push yourself to the point of failure and learn.

@kalima275 It's difficult for you to prove what you asserted without seeing the action from multiple angles. Viewing from only one angle doesn't give you enough info. Our minds can be easily tricked, and this is how optical illusions work. The operators are experienced enough with barricades and their weapons to have stopped and fired from a "sweet spot" that required little to no lean to the left or right when firing.

There is no "sweet spot" that you can practically engage a target from that doesn't also leave you vulnerable to be engaged. Optical illusions have nothing to do with the fact that whatever you can shoot using a sight picture, can shoot you.

It's all about mitigation, not elimination and I think that is what you are driving at in regards to my poor choice of words with "sweet spot". :-) I get your arguments overall; I just think the jury is out on how egregious these mistakes were until we get more information.

But there is also a time where you might miss the guy trying to flank you because you are staring at your magwell behind cover lookin like a target. Plus Mr. Haley had a constant stream of lead when Costa didn't. You gotta take into account the fact if that were real the bad guy would be pinned down decently, peace.

On an IAD either forward or breaking contact, you reload on the move. Never break in suppressing the enemy. Even the damn SAW gunner reloads on the move (and that fucking sucks) but having people inside of 75m shooting at you sucks more.

Sick of these air soft guys.. hell even the paintball jackass's. I went to a paintball field a few years ago with my buddy. Thinking we'd get our tails handed to because these guys were serious woodball guys.. well the exact opposite happened. All the high end guns, gear, etc...hell even a guy in a "ghillie suit" got it handed to them. Myself and my friend against 20 or so.... we lasted until the airhorn( which didn't happen for 20 min). You guys need real world training....

While I've have never tryed paintball..airsoft is pretty fun, if you live in Cali (which I hope you don't for the sake of you owning real firearms) there are alot of good field and CQB places that have ex-military guys, plus you use gear and guns basically the same as real life so you can really see how you do, its quite fun, better then shooting paper at the range for me.
Alot of states have good CQB places, its fun to do on the weekends to unwind, highly recommended
