Fake Parking Attendants - People Behaving Badly

Ive been caught by IMPARK before. machine broken, went to business beside to call it in, came back and there was a ticket. guy was watching the lot and then he claimed if i paid him he could send it in for me... luckily i did not have the $60 that the ticket was for!

I run into those fake attendants a lot and I just tell them "yo the shinier my car is the better the tip will be when I get back!"

I guess the less illegal version is the "helpful bum" who claims he's just trying to help you, but whether he be at a parking lot or the BART he will get very aggressive and hostile when I tell him to fuck off.

@mikokat I was wondering the same thing so I peaked at one of the tickets, it was for 35 bucks plus they took a photo of your licence plate so what happens is they take you to collections or worse the next time you park you get towed for delinquent fees.

@TVman1981 it really makes no sense...one thing to send you a bill for parking...or have your car towed...quite another to be handing out tickets....as it is, private parking garages are all ripoffs

@brabon1 My guess is that the company could come after you in civil court over the a violation of contract. By parking in their lot you accepted a contract to pay their posted fee.

You could theoretically make a parking attendant "cosplay" for around $50.

The fake attendants can be spotted a mile away, because they are using a wheelbarrow to haul their big balls around.
