  • Its a solid roller can, and that noise you hear isn't the valve lash its an exhaust leak.

  • The wires are "hidden". You can still see some wires but most of the wiring is in the fenders.

  • @1973FordPinto Well now it is 362ci and turbo'd. That 347 in this video never saw a dyno, but i would guess it was around 400rwhp, maybe a little less.

  • @331lilcoupe Not custom, im running an On3 performance kit with a 76mm turbo. I have my complaints about the kit but it only cost 1500 so its hard to bitch.

  • @botlrokit93 Thanks, it would have made around 400rwhp but now the car is being turbo'd, and a more mild cam is being put in. i will put a video up when im done in about a month or so.

    Now it is running Megasquirt and starts up and idles fine.

  • listen sir. U need to retard that car about 2-3 degrees. U where bumpin the started wen u first tried to start her up. That should not happen.

  • it has nothing to do with the degree of the cam, i degree'd the cam when i installed it to Doug Herberts specs. The reason the car didnt like to start WAS (its fixed now) due to running a factory ECU completely untuned. Now i am running a megasquirt stand alone computer and the car fires up faster than my daily driver honda civic. If you notice the MOMENT i opened the throttle blade the car fired right up.

  • How did your day at the track go? Out of curiosity, what diameter exhaust and brand of mufflers are you running? Also, what compression ratio? Your car sounds really good... Are your lifters from Doug Herbert as well? Thanks for the info.

  • well i never got to go. i did get the 4.30's in so that part is done. the exhaust is 3" from headers back, running borla XR-1 mufflers. IMO they are way too loud. i am going to buy the Borla pro XS mufflers. my lifters are comp lifters, and im 11.1:1 static compression. some changes need to be made to the car, first of which is the camshaft, second is the converter. thanks for watching.

  • Interesting - your compression, cam, and exhaust diameter are very similar to my motor that's in the planning stages.  Is your cam change being dictated by the auto trans?

  • no the auto trans has nothing to do with my cam change... the reason i am going to change my cam is because its not going to work very well with nitrous. i have a 200 shot, that i would love to use but i have been warned by a custom cam grinder that i am asking for carnage if i do spray.

  • why do you want to change the cam? I run a Herbert roller and I really like it.

  • I do really like the cam, i want to change to a more nitrous friendly cam. hell if this cam were say a 109 LSA instead of 106 it would be perfect for what i want. i should have thought about this before getting the cam.

  • @slostang89 yep. the only cams that are even remotely nitrous friendly with anything near that lsa are the stockers lol. That's an all-motor bump stick, you got in there buddy

  • this next friday, ill be taking it to the track for the first time on 4.30 gears, but still that super loose converter. my car isnt going to run what i want yet for other reasons such as suspension. i have the stock K member and no suspension in the front. but im hoping for the 7.2 range

  • That sounds mean. I'm almost done with my 347 build as well. what kind of heads do you have on there? Any track time yet or dyno?

  • thank you, it has K-302 motorsport heads ported and polished. i have only been to the 1/8 mile for some test and tune runs. first time out the car went 7.5 @ 91 which is about a half a second slower than i wanted, but i had 3.73 gears which are now upgraded to 4.30's. the biggest issue i had was that my converter is WAY too loose. its a 5500 stall that actually stalls 6000rpms. im getting a new converter that will be a 4500 rpm stall, and i should be in the 6's then
