    rock on, and keep rockin!

  • Good job dude

  • Hey Jack, Jim here. Good job on this tune man. Keep it up! :)

  • Thanks Jim. This was made over 2years ago and I've improved since then. It's one of my favorite songs to play.

  • Very nice. I just started learning this song today.

I too have a Gold Tone OB250. You can find them used as low as $500.

  • yay i finally learned it

  • Congratulations.

  • imma learn this song afteri get done with fox on the run

  • I play Reubens train on the guitar. First time I have heard it on the banjo. Very nice!!

  • Hey ESSEXBLUE SHARP, i would recomend getting an FB-58 fender banjo. They are very nice banjo's , and will last you a while they are usually $600.

  • totally agree with you stringplayer07! got one myself and I'm really happy with it

  • The deering goodtime is also a option

  • Howdy and great work on this classic Scruggs number. Those chokes were flawless. Keep on keepin on with the solid pickin...yeehaw.

  • Thank You.

  • Did you make any modifications to that ob-250?

  • Yes. I addded D-tuners, replaced the thumbscrews and mounts, changed out the armrest, added a pick-up, and changed out the tuning buttons. None of those changes really affected the sound/tone, mainly just for comfort and looks.

  • I understand your point exactly. Banjos like the Gold Tone Cripple Creek or Deering Goodtime banjos are built with craftsmanship and sound really good for a great affordable price. I would recommend either brand because I know that they aren't pieces of junk and that they don't flush your bank account.

  • hey just a little pointer, at the very end of this song during the last harmonic on the low D string, to get that fading sound scruggs had you just have to push on the banjo head a little bit. dont break it lol, but just push with a finger or two and it will give that sound

  • Thank You. I've seen other players do that. I usually turn the banjo by the neck sort of quickly to get that same sort of effect.

  • hey nice pickin do you know were i can get the tablature to learn that song

  • "Earl Scruggs and the 5-string banjo" has it. Learning that same song right now.

    Nice pickin.

  • cool man.

you inspiried me to learn this song... especially because of that part ye played at 00:24 ghahah that sound is so cewl.

  • Those are great soundin banjos!

  • FLSON, you can say that again, or I can do it for ya! LOL

What kind of banjo are ya pickin?

  • A Gold Tone OB-250.

  • Nice playing and great sounding banjo.
