There is a balance between losing some profit by not being able to read opponents and gaining profit by playing multiple tables. It's up to the individual to decide where that balance is relative to the limits they're playing at.
But yes, any decent player can play quite a few tables and be more profitable in the middle limits where players aren't as good.

I 20 tables 3,25$ sit-n-go on stars and what I do is start 10 at first and then 10 more around 15-20 mins later so I don't get to the later stage where I am more often in the action on 20 tables at the same time. I also find it a little easier and faster to use the ''remember table positioning'' and put all the tables around the middle of the screen so you can click faster and don't have to search the action.
