yep. An easy way to set it up, is to make sure both routers are set up with the exact same name, password and channel. Then the device will automatically swap between the 2 devices

Hey there, I was wondering if you could help me out with something. So I have verizon fios and I am using their router that they provide to connect to the internet on my wifi devices. I was wondering if I would be able to use an older wireless router I have lying around as an access point in another room on a different floor. If I am able to do that, would I have to have an ethernet cable connecting it to the fios router, or would I be able to set it on another floor without any wires running?

Why didn't you just use the "Router/WAP/Switch" divice to do all that since it's a wireless broadcaster?

Where did you get the IP addresses you're using? Do you just contact the manufacturer or it's stated on the device?

hi i having been having a problem with my vista computer which is set up with a wireless n linsys adapter that is suppose to connect with the wireless router n.

the adapter connects but shows limited local access so it does not connect to the internet. Everything on the setup page looks good but i don't know the problem

I've spent hours on the net trying to find a webpage that shows the default IP of the AP I have but to no avail. THanks for the help anyway!

Sometimes even if the company is not existant it still has a website running. This case is with QDI, altough the site is a bit slow at times it still works. Guess this is not the case here. But you could check safemanuals D.O.T. C.O.M. it has a lot of manuals.

Default password for Linksys is admin and the ip is 192.168.1.1. Default username/password for a Cisco AP is Cisco/Cisco and the ip is 10.0.0.1

I currently have a wireless router with two wired clients and a multitude of wireless ones. Behind this is another router I am using for voip. This all works perfectly well, my problem is that my townhouse is rather tall so the top floor has very poor reception. Is there a way to extend the original wireless network up there, or will I have to use an access point and switch between networks every time I move up or down?

Now if i connect my PC to non wireless router it works fine but if i connect wireless router to non wireless router in order to get internet on my laptop i get wireless connection with my laptop but PC connected to wireless router through cabel doesn't work.I know it's confusing... I have cable high-speed internet but my cable modem only has one ethernet output(which is being used to connect to my computer's only ethernet port). Check with the manufacturer to verify the IP address you are using is the default. The second thing to try is to perform a manual reset to verify the device is set to the factory default. The last thing to verify is that DHCP is enabled on the device and on the client and that you get the proper DHCP IP configuration settings.
