I have a question if you don't mind, I have a single network plug in my garage because the wireless signal is really weak. Can I add a older wireless 4 port router to extend my range?
yep. An easy way to set it up, is to make sure both routers are set up with the exact same name, password and channel. Then the device will automatically swap between the 2 devices

Hi This video helps but i couldn't secure my wireless,it is difficult ,what can i do? thanks with out this problem it works fine but only need to secure the wirelss,it says unsecure.please help.thx
pardon me Sir, i'm a new: the ip of router 192.168.1.245, did you input it into the router or was it factory installed because what i saw in linksys routers and access points the default is 192.168.1.1.Please explain if i could some how change the default ip of the router. I would highly appreciate your help.
Hey there, I was wondering if you could help me out with something. So I have verizon fios and I am using their router that they provide to connect to the internet on my wifi devices. I was wondering if I would be able to use an older wireless router I have lying around as an access point in another room on a different floor. If I am able to do that, would I have to have an ethernet cable connecting it to the fios router, or would I be able to set it on another floor without any wires running?
hi i having been having a problem with my vista computer which is set up with a wireless n linsys adapter that is suppose to connect with the wireless router n.
the adapter connects but shows limited local access so it does not connect to the internet. Everything on the setup page looks good but i don't know the problem
guys i have a problem here. I have an old Wireless Access Point but I have lost the installation manual. How can I find out the IP address of the WAP? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks
@simon1234simon thanks for the suggestion, really appreciate it! =)... but I am pretty sure that the company that made that access point has collapsed. =( It's a fulbond wireless access point. I've spent hours on the net trying to find a webpage that shows the default IP of the AP I have but to no avail. THanks for the help anyway!
Sometimes even if the company is not existant it still has a website running. This case is with QDI, altough the site is a bit slow at times it still works. Guess this is not the case here. But you could check safemanuals D.O.T. C.O.M. it has a lot of manuals.
On the video he is connecting access point to router with UTP cable is there any way to have a connectivity between access pint and the main router with WIFI
Hey guys i lost my belkin install cd for my belkin G+ Mimo and i need that cd to install my wireless but can i download it from some where or what :(?
If you use a Cisco AP, then most of the time the ISP modem will not allow connectivity; call them to make sure. For home connectivity, just use a wireless router from Linksys or Netgear, but use Cisco APs in an infrastructure environment where switches and routers are in place.
thanks but i've already fixed it. i forgot to mention that i don't have linksys, instead i have netgear. i just called the company and they told me how to fix up my problem. it was way different than linksys.
I currently have a wireless router with two wired clients and a multitude of wireless ones. Behind this is another router I am using for voip. This all works perfectly well, my problem is that my townhouse is rather tall so the top floor has very poor reception. Is there a way to extend the original wireless network up there, or will I have to use an access point and switch between networks every time I move up or down?
hey, do u know where to download the setup for WAP54G? i lost my setup cd! im afraid if i changed something without the setup disk, it might not go back to normal.. im trying to connect my nintendo dsi through WEP encryption.. thanks in advance..
Hi not to sound dumb but are Access points like boosters? i mean do they extend the range of the wireless signal? im trying to set something up at my home where the internet is accessible inside the house and outside. Im trying to do what the airports and other places have,i mean like a hot spot etc.
Like i am having trouble with my whole wireless switch like even when i turn it on its stays the off color. I had just downgraded to windows xp professional. like when i turn on the wireless switch it doesnt even show a connectivity icon on my desktop.
i got small problem, the problem is that i've got non wireless modem router and wireless router to get wireless connection. Now if i connect my PC to non wireless router it works fine but if i connect wireless router to non wireless router in order to get internet on my laptop i get wireless connection with my laptop but PC connected to wireless router through cabel doesn't work.I know it's confusing... What am i doing wrong? any help would be great.
I'm looking to create an access point for my Nintendo Wii to connect to. I have cable high-speed internet but my cable modem only has one ethernet output(which is being used to connect to my computer's only ethernet port). How can make a WAP for my Wii to find if all WAP devices need a ethernet cable connected to create the access point and I have none available?
One of the devices is a combination Router/WAP/Switch. It supports wired and wireless connections. It can also share a broadband connection amongst all of the LAN and wireless clients.
Check with the manufacturer to verify the IP address you are using is the default. The second thing to try is to perform a manual reset to verify the device is set to the factory default. The last thing to verify is that DHCP is enabled on the device and on the client and that you get the proper DHCP IP configuration settings.
how do i know the ip address of the WAP so that i could connect to it using web browser?

Why didn't you just use the "Router/WAP/Switch" divice to do all that since it's a wireless broadcaster?
Where did you get the IP addresses you're using? Do you just contact the manufacturer or it's stated on the device?
