if the time signature of a song is 4/4 then there will be four counts (or for this guy below me four "hand claps") and every 4 counts is a bar. the snare a lot of the time is on counts 2 and 4 so you people in these "it's not about what you say it's how you say it" hip hop times you can also count them that way haha

@djjairi write lyrics over a simplified beat (like litterally just one beats and two beats). then i build upon the base of that beat. it honestly doesn't sound too sick, but it works out. if you want a song to sound sick, you gotta make a beat first, and figure out where the lyrics fit.

some good advise but wrong well semi-wrong, the term "bars" refers to bar lines witch refer to measures witch if we're talking music theory it doesn't matter the tempo it's all to do with the time signature example 2/4 AKA cut time or 6/8 more commonly written as 3/4 but what most people talk about is 4/4 (common time) the most standard time signature it mean there are 4 beats in a measure and the quarter not gets one beat.

@Nygunns1 not necessarily, most of the time yes, but musically a bar is four bass hits and/or two snare hits. If you listen to any rap song, slow or fast, it has a basic beat like /boom hit, boom boom hit/ the first "boom" is the beginning of a bar, and the last "hit" is the end of a bar.
