Ripping Cover .. Long Time Hawlks fam myself ,filmed a whole show back in december on my channel ...myself... I fink the Goddess works it into this band ;)

Lovin' the Femmie Godess Elements , just right for the Age ... I sure liked it , then there will be some die hards that will say OOOOO Oh bet their not Hawkwind though,,, maybe not but they sure have The Spirit Of The Age and that's undeniable by the people who didn't like it ;)

@reyrFuaP I only hear one deviation in the lyrics... they replaced the 'I am a clone' bit with something about 'everything I know.." Other than that they were all the same except that they replaced the She's with He's. Not trying to be argumentative, it's just that I read your comment before listening and tried to spot errors....

Well I liked this version, it doesn't sound disco, maybe deep trance but not disco.

Nice touch with a female singer, think that's what did it for me, plus it sounded trippy.

I think this track is a fantastic revamp of the classic original. Do you really think that back in 1977 the original didn't sound a bit 'disco'? probably because it is supposed to?

Yep, I really am sorry as the previous post is a bit sharp of me, but the original version of Spirit of the Age with Calvert on vocals is a classic. The Calvert vocals made the track - they're otherworldly and set the scene. Unfortunately, the vox on this track make it almost sound like a disco number - or something from a modern "R&B" chart. I couldn't believe that anyone could have missed the whole character of the track like this. Sorry. Baaaad effort.

great songs remain great no matter how they get reinterpreted. even the hawks topped the classic original on the extended version on the reissued atomhenge double cd of qs&c. it doesn't energise me like the hawks versions do but this ok nevertheless. nice try!
