best remedy: mix flour and water into a thick paste, add a LOT of salt to it and then aply it to the affected area, let it dry and keep it on all day. it will dry out the rash and will be gone in 2-3 days.
legit the best cure for it not to itch is to put your blow dryer on high and hot, and put it on the rash intill it burns and it will not itch for like 5 hours
i had poison oak on top of having broken ribs, road rash on my back, broken nose, head trauma, 18 staples back of my head, with way more injuries... i would rather have all that pain than poison oak... poison oak is the worst on my list... and i have it again but not as bad as my first time... luckily its only a couple of bumps(4 to 6 bumps on my right wrist and fore arm) i would rather have broken ribs than poison oak anyday
i need help my is bad and it is on my eye and face ,arms and i only have 1 medicine do i go by a noter 2 the 2 u have and how log well i have it if i do what did in this vid
I remember helping a neighbor burn oak leaves back in Missouri. well, I got into the smoke and ended up getting poison oak in my lungs. That was definitely not fun at all. My face swelled up, eyes swelled shut, and if you ever have had an itch inside of you that you could not relieve, OMG!!! I will never forget that experience.
My problem has been that I had not known that I had been exposed until the itching began. I have heard a product called tecnu works very well if you use it right away. I have no idea if it works better than running water however.
Actually, cold water neutralizes the oil. It may spread a bit, but it neutralizes what the oil may do. Soap spreads the oil faster. I had to study poison oak, ivy, and sumac in order to be a park ranger
I do not belive that running cold water will wash away ivy oil from the skin. If it is oil based you should use some type of solvent to break it down. like Dawn soap or palmolive. do this several times and you will not spread the oil. the trick is to get it off quick.

@Rodstewartrocks Is Dial soap ok to use? It was suggested by a pharmacist at Walgreens I inquired about. Dishwashing okay to use?
