omg where have I heard this??? I just today found out about Beethoven bu ive heard this somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhh I love this musc :) Julliard here I come! in 3 years of coarse...
the sweet sound incloses the ears into perfect harmony making the mind open to all thoughts, such as this comment for example. If I were to be writing a comment on a non-classical music video, then this comment would first, look like shit, and second not go a long with the video at all because this topic can almost only be discussed on this side of you tube.
The music was experienced in his mind state and its composition flowed from his heart, the sound of it is his legacy for those who can hear to experience at another level of appreciation. Hmm.
shogun1556...this is such a ...and you play it...you lucky person..I played it in my youth and I loved it...too much romance....or not enough....I wanted a girl with me for some reason when ever I listened?played it....such an emotional piece......
I play this on the classical guitar but I prefer listening to the piano version, it's always played more patiently and slowly onthe piano. People rush it on the guitar to show off
I heard this for the first time last week played by a 15 year old boy who had only played on the piano for 5 years... My wife and i was at a concert for my kids music school.....It was perfect...When he finished playing we was crying so much we forgot to clap!!!
Sa3uel: you're not really asking who the artist is, are you? Check the title of the video, the name Beethoven should tell you something. And no, its not only a dog in a movie ;-) ..
this is the most beautiful composition ever. beethoven was an amazing composer. this is on my computer and i cried when i remembered my uncle's death. he was in the malitary and died in an explosion along with 10 others. everytime i hear this, i think about him. up there in heaven watching down on me and my brothers, protecting us when we're asleep. he was a strong man and would have heard this. but i know up there, my gaurdian angel will be there to protect me whether dead or not.
Nigaz got their, grillz, silly hats with stickers on them, trousers that hang to there ankles, their Boom boom boom, in da hud who knew i would but blood you'de shoot me if you could...
I reallly dont know what to say. This piece is wonderful. Beethoven must have to have that much time to make this piece exist and i cant believe people dislike this. I feel sad for him and it makes me mad. You dont know how hard he spent the effort to just make you dislike this piece! Also for the person who made this video, he/she spent effort people!!!TIME!!!!
Imagine the story behind this. Imagine the state of his heart - to be able to write this exquisite story of heart he must have felt so much on so many levels...it must have felt so heavy at times. This is art encompassed, this is beyond art. This is soul. And to think, each of us hears it uniquely, feels it differently according to our senses and perceptions and narratives. Are we hearing something in unity despite our differences?
Every time I play this song on piano with people around, it always makes things awkward to me, because when it ends, there's a huge silence and everyone is just sitting there peacefully. It always makes my grandma cry.
Ahh... Beethoven, what you did for us... Thank you.
shogun1556: That is beautiful. I understand. As a singer...sometimes there is the same response. They "went away" with you, and are not entirely back, neither are you. It is so sweet and poignant. One of the best moments in life, really...and there are many. Yes, I thank the marvelous Beethoven, and His Creator and ultimate artist, God. Be well. All the best, Kris Bass-Malloy, Macon, GA
@oakbyriver Sometimes I wish we could spread peace all over the world through the sound of Music. Beethoven and many other legends tried to do so but never got enough attention. Thank you for this comment, at least I don't feel alone expressing these kind of feeling. Let Music live forever in our hearts.
@SingOutToOurWorld (Thinks deeply)... I think why. He is cool, this song is cool. He is quiet, the moon is quiet, L was smart, Beethoven was smart (to wright this song :P) And this song is a little sad, that reminds me when L dies >.<
this goes through the ages.... its larger than time itself.... i get the chills every time i listen to it ...even when im doing something important it manages to capture my attention and i get into it .... lots of people don;t understand music like this .... it frightens them...... its like staing in the dark for too long...you start seeing things ...hearing stuff... that is not there..... i don;t know answeres to all the questions... but this will remain like this ... no change will come....
standing in the dark with someone you want to touch but cannot...the resistance it too great it over powers the body and the mind cannot think until you finally touch youor lover
I love this piece. Though you cannot truly appreciate it without listening to all three movements.... The sadness of the first movement... The joy of the second, and the anger of the third.
Beethoven truly was a complicated man, and that is why his compositions are among my favorite out of any composer.
Research in neuroscience has shown listening to classical music can release dopamine in your brain, which activates certain reward pathways in the substantia nigra....
I can only imagine what his thoughts were as he created such a crystal piece in this way. In the end two consecutive chords strike twice the turn of the clock to mark the fact that one more night has gone by even though time itself does not rest. I <3 it. I love the dramatic chords and the twists and turns as the hue of the night changes...
This is one of my favorite pieces ever. It has always reminded me of someone struggling with their inner most thoughts and for the good to prevail evil.. and to go on inspite of the opposition in ones own mind. Its a beautiful piece that really captures the dramatic essences of the night that overlap the day. A real play ground for ones imagination. I love it! Always have and always will. Very moving.
this is such a beautiful piece, i have this eerie feeling when i listen to it though, but then i get a calm feeling, like someone i care about is holding me and im just asleep in their arms
Even without the pictures, you can just picture a full moon, glistening in the dark sky. The stars dancing around it as they twinkle in the open sky. You can visualize the sky filled with glowing stars and a bright moon. Of course if you didn't know the title of this song, you could imagine things like a lonely forest or an abandoned orphan. However, I think most people would visualize a beautiful night, yet with a hint of sorrow. This song moves me, because I love the night. I must thank Bach!!
@orcad2b and that same someone must learn their music periods...this is typical classicism as with Bach we have a perfect example of baroque (f.y.i. ORGAN is like the symbol of baroque...)...funny, some people, not knowing their basics and trying to sound all goth and all knowing and poetic...shame on you lil girl
@fantasyofprincesses It is the german Ludwig Rellstab who named this song as a ''Moonlight Sonata'' 5 years after Beethoven death but in reality, experts categorized this composition as a funeral march and Beethoven's assistants said this song was about ghosts pulling their chains in an empty castle. But the ''Moonlight Sonata'' vision is so deep in the people imaginary that it won't change.
@TheAssassinEzio1503 It's mostly just chords. Trust me, once you know THIS song you are actually able to write a lot of your own little tunes you get in your head from knowing the chords. Scales are progress!
A beautiful treasure that will live on as long as Humankind, and maybe forever, vibrating throughout some medium on another planet in our vast universe.

It's interesting that minor should invoke this and major the opposite.
-
This interesting bit of meta-mechanics would be well served to be thoroughly studied.
-
We're afraid of the dark because it ties back to caveman days through our DNA/genes via ghost gene dynamics and properties.
-
But this, with the minor making us feel a way and the major making us feel another way... something would most definitely have to be up with that.
-
I'd appreciate any ideas at all regarding this phenomenon.

@Doum92 That's really interesting. Listening to it again, it is kind of ghostly. Not often someone posts an interesting comment on YT, so thanks :-)

@TheAssassinEzio1503 It's mostly just chords. Trust me, once you know THIS song you are actually able to write a lot of your own little tunes you get in your head from knowing the chords. Scales are progress!
