Oh c'mon, Have anyone even googled Romanov family history? The movie is only based on the MYTH about Anastasia (. Soon after 1917 Russian revolution Tsar Nikolai II and his family were killed. There was long living believe that two children could have escaped, other was tsarevich Alexei and other Anastasia OR her sister Maria. But it doesn't change a fact that Anastasia MOVIE is awsome and the music is even better! :)

Anya is not the short for Anastasia.

Vlad is not short for Vladimir

Rasputin has never been in conflict with royal family and was assassinated in 1916, year before revolution (He was shoot 11 times, but survived. Still alive, he was thrown into river.)

Maria Feodorovna escaped to Copenhagen, not to Paris.

Saint-Petersburg wasn`t called this way not in the 1916 nor in 1926. (Petrograd and Leningrad respectively )

@Fishcrazy321 This movie isn't really that factual, but it's still good. In really condensed factual version: her dad was the Tsar of Russia. She had 3 older sisters and a younger brother. Things eventually got bad in Russia, and her family was taken captive and eventually murdered. Anastasia (or possibly her sister Maria) and brother Alexei were missing, so some thought they were alive. However, their bodies were later found in the 1990's. DNA later confirmed their identities. She was 17.
