  • cool man! very cool! =)

  • dude. thanks.

  • loving it

  • Useful. Thank you.

  • Nice, thanks

  • Man you are awesome

  • nice tip bro--cool style!

  • yeah, dude. Thank you. All of those you played are good . I just need to practice. I play in a band, I want to get better but finding time to .... got a go practice.

  • u have hands like an epileptic spiders legs lol,,, i cannot slap like that and i have played bass for 24 years,, I NEED TO PRACTICE LOL

  • He' s Italian no?

  • That speaks volumes about the whole slapping/popping style, the player has to get into their own way of doing it! Out of every bass instruction video I've ever seen on YouTube, this one makes the most sense. I agree with you Sir 110%.

  • Good humble insight and playing here. I was just watching Tomo Fujita and I had to investigate how to get that triplet right.

  • DAMN! That shit is FUNKY!

  • i liked what u played to the drum machine, gah i really need to mess more with left hand mutes and filler

  • Really nice, when you play triplets you play them and play 1 note and stop.. try to combine it, make some funky stuff out of it, its way too simple if you just triplet 1 note and stop.

i cant really explain this to you, tho i hope you understand, great playing!.

  • sweet video, really helpful!

  • yo are u armenian?

  • nope

  • I like the lesson but your bass tone is like a cheese grater on my ears. Cheers.

  • thx man.. finally something i can do.. lol

  • Hey man!

Nice vid, good skills, but turn down the treble just a bit. Other than that, great work man!!

  • thanx man.. the quality of the microphone i'm using to record is pretty crappy. it captures the high frequencies and ignores most of the bass frequencies. i know what you mean though! thanks bro. peace out!

  • could you show the hand placement and hand shape for this style of playing? I'm a trumpet player and would like to know how I could teach my bass players to play some slap funk much like marcus miller

  • Yes. I do like it. I apply it to almost every funk ryhthm I come up with now. Thanks man! You rock!

  • Thats a mark king style triplet:)

  • very grover. its funkadilic man! :) love ur vids! and i did try this! and it was kool! thx for you vid dude!

  • I can't do the jazz triplets like you're showing. I prefer doing those "Finger Rolling" ones (similar to drumming your fingers (see Billy Sheehan)).

What kind of pickups are you using? The quality is much better than my SPB-3's.

  • Flamenco*

  • Good job.

  • thanks a lot bro :)

  • That thing you do starting at 0:55(ish) you can do that in another way. Pop, left slap, slap. It's the Mark King way to do it. The same sound, the same rythm but much easier to do. And there are a few here on youtube showing that. Anyway great post really inspiring.

  • Great idea man, thank you.

But-you have started a battle between those two lol.

  • What bass are you using?

  • it's a Fender Jazz 24v!!

  • awesome

  • 4/5??? what are you talking about??

  • well, at the end part count 4/4 bars and youll hear the the rithm you play doesnt fit in a 4/4 bar. im mean the point starting at 2:25...

  • dude you have no idea what you are talking about... do you know how to count??!! if yes.. try counting again.. 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4.. try it, it's easy!!!

  • dude i play da bass for like 20 years, I can count just fine. you obviously cant...but whatever.

  • ok ramon709.. this is from YOUR OWN channel description " I havent been born with any musical talent and especialy dont have a natural feel for rithm". so i think you just got yourself there!! .. and if there is anyways we could have a 3ed opinion on this, please feel free to tell him that the riff at 2:25 is actually 4/4.. THANK YOU!

    peace out bro!

  • oh boy you so got me, not... what i wrote on my profile doesnt mean i cant play and dont understand or have a feel for rithm. if you read my whole profile you can read that after 20 years if can play and have the feel for rithm. just havent been born with any special musical talent. i had to work/practice for it. like a lot of us had to do i supose. the part between 2:25 and 2:34 doesnt fit in 4/4. but who cares its just youtube. your making a big thing out of it, not me.

  • lets just keep it that the beginning of the end part is not tight. im sure he ment it as a 4/4.

  • ....Yes it does (fit into 4/4).

  • No prob

I play a handfull of Primus songs

I'm not a pro, but I think I play alright

I might load a vid or two

By the way, pretty bad-ace riff at 2:24

  • yeah man.. load some vids up man and let me know... i would love to see knew people playing bass! thanx a lot for the good comments! :) peace out!

  • Goooooood! A very good technique, with compliments.......Alfy
