  • still a vespa, but a half milion? wtf!

  • i would buy the vespa if i had a driving license and enough money.

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha scooter

  • My girlfriend is Injected every other night !

  • I bought my first one today is a fixer upper I will post a video of the rebuild. it's a 79 model

  • Get a PX200 this 250 is UGLY !

I have had PX20 for years & never had trouble with them...

  • Try BAN, MOD GIRLS, fantastic tune and classic vespas!

  • lol looks like he's driving at 1:07 :p

  • I'm 62, so I love these "classics", but for 13,000 dollars (fob Brazil) I would prefer a Triumph Bonneville T100 (red & white) !!! Vespa is overpriced...

  • For $4K more you can get today a BMW K1200LT with under 40K miles. Thats like the death star with all the storm troopers compared to this.

  • Good review.. and I realized later in the vid I used to live right around where this was filmed lol

  • i brought a new vespa 250ie, jacket, two helments on july 6th, 2010.

the scooter has never worked and has stranded me all over town.

i wasted my 9 day whistler vacation staying in town trying to retrieve it from the various places it broke down.

it had 18km when i recieved it. in the shop now, it has 48kms now.

i will need to wait for two weeks for my parts to come in.

i have a yamaha 125 for 6 years and it has never stranded me.

i have nothing positive to say about the scooter.

  • @lumbums go and get it replaced and get compensated dude

my baby 4000k on the clock has not missed a beat

cheers \p.s let us know if the parts make it better

  • @lumbums i think i am getting my scooter this week, i'll be happier then

  • Presenter is hot....

  • hey you should check out this website jbikes.ecrater.com , i got a good deal from them on a dirtbike, its not a brand name but it i drove it for about a year now with no problems :) -

  • "Made in China" vs "Made in Italy" - in China they just make it and sell it, in/out, a material product. -in Italy they make it to reflect Italy; their heart and soul. they are very proud people, strive for exellence and craftmanship and therefor create more than "just a product"

it would take me like 2 years to save up for a vespa but i would rather get one than a 400cc yamaha cruiser for the same price.

in the same way i would buy a good paintball gun rather than a gun

  • Is it really that light? Coz in the video when the guy placed the Vespa GTV on full-stand it really looked so light and required so little effort to do so. I have a Vespa ET4 and when I put it on full-stand it requires quite an effort to do so.

  • what i liked in the new vespa is its very smooth, and the engine is very strong. i think it has one of the best acceleration in its class. this is a great scooter with lots of style.

  • Sounds like the people who thinks vespa are overpriced should stick with their kia's. Sounds like the are jealous. 6000 for a scooter that holds value i had a honda shadow areo that right off the lot lost $2000! My gts 250 super after a year still holds 98% of its value.

  • hey, did they film this in huntington beach? looks like it too me, i live there. i think i know the brigde he is on.

  • not exactly a proper vespa or lambretta. but i suppose it still is a scooter

  • freddurobin has got to be the biggest fucking gimp i have encountered on youtube, what a fucking fag with a bad attitude, fucking loser grow up!

  • did he say 0-60 in 13.84 seconds??????

  • no 2 stroke!!!??? that's not a vespa

  • @fairyheli2 it's a 2008

  • i bought one three months ago,it is the best vespa i have ever ridden!

  • da bike's great but i'm not good at motorcycles,so,wat makes vespa more expensive than any other scooters ?

  • name and style

  • The Vespa 250 is a very fun an well built machine I bought one a year and a half ago and was only going to ride it to work on fridays (65 miles round trip). I am driving it almost every day to work. I have already put on 16000 miles and have not had a single problem except for normal oil changes and tire replacements. Remember Piaggio has been building these scooters for over sixty years. Highly recommend the Continental Zippy 1 tires it ride so nicely and last longer than the factory tires...

  • thats a cool lil thing, chicks will be more like;y to get on the back of that! they're scared of sports bikes. n thats what being cool is all aboout right....chicks :p

  • If I was to get a 250cc scooter I would get the now discontinued Yamaha Morphous with it's low 25.8 inch seat height and bigger brakes then the Vespa. The Morphous has of course water cooling and fuel injection at 25hp.

  • I meant 400cc's for the burgmen. Not 40 dammit I hate my f##### typing.

  • I don't know, man. I bought a Vespa GTS because it holds it's value, is made of actual metal and looks tits. I won't bash your Burgman, by any stretch. But in terms of form and function, you have a Toyota Camry and I have a Lexus...

  • Vespa's are for arrogent wealthy preps who value their "fashion statements" over anything else. They need to eat some humble pie and buy a Suzuki Burgmen with 40cc's and anti lock brakes. My 49cc fuel injected liquid cooled Yamaha C3 has HUGE storage capacity and 116mpg. It goes 45 after being broke in and will go 50 with trans upgrades form MRP and KS Power. The C3 is only 2,100 dollars.

  • unlike the burgman and silver wing the wasp is all metal i guess...could buy a good used honda civic with that mo...

  • why are vespas so expensive

I should be buying an imitation one for a fraction of the price

  • Your imitation scoot will be a fraction of the bike. There is a REASON it's a fraction of the price.

  • apart from the badge is much different?

    explain..

  • Lower quality, poorly made.

  • There's too many reasons to list. Do the research; Vespa - Fuel injection, water cooled, quality suspension, steel body, wonderful instrumentation, hydraulic disc brakes front/rear. You might as well ask why a Porsche is more expensive than a volkswagen.

  • @ Napalmdog. My 49cc Yamaha C3 has fuel injection, water cooling and a steel frame. Now a Suzuki Burgmen has all of the features maybe except the "steel body" compared to the Vespa and all for less money. I do not own a burgmen I own the Yamaha C3 which is a better 49cc scooter for the value. I already know that the Vespa 49cc will only go around 39 to 40mph tops. My C3 will go 45mph tops.

  • My Vespa goes 78 mph. I had a Ruckus and I did enjoy it. The Vespa has proven to be far more useful. The Vespa's styling is far more attractive to me than the Burgman which sorta looks like something retired people ride. The C3 is an awesome little bike too, by the way. I would have considered a 250cc version of it, but they don't make it and even if they did the cost would probably be 5-6 grand. Engine displacement dictates cost by a huge margin in my research...

  • Well of course your vespa with it's larger engine is gonna go 78mph. I would prefer the Yamaha Morphous it's a 250cc with a low 25.8 seat and it'l' do better in the cross winds than the vespa plus it has bigger brakes al for less money than the Vespa. Now there is no doubt the Vespa is a quality machine it's just overpriced.

  • Again, it's like comparing a Camry to a Porsche. I looked at it but the Morphous is no longer available here. I found a used one but I really didn't like the stying or handling of that long wheelbase. There literally is nothing on the US market like the Vespa in the engine size style-wise....

  • As far as the larger engine smaller scooter with the retro styling no one has anything like that except Vespa VERY TRUE. However you pay out your ass for it. Also as for me if I get a bigger engine in a scooter it better be smooth like the Morphous, burgmen, silverwing etc. I mean if you want handling buy a motorcycle like a Kawasaki Ninja 250! People like you killed the morphous with your opinions of styling. Overseas they don't like "retro" we americans haven't progressed in the scooter world

  • Of course! It's not what the market wanted. I thought the Morphous was fine for some other people. I hated the way a person looks on the scoot. It kills the whole line of the bike. But not enough of you lot that liked it bought it. Overpriced at $5300 maybe? That's actually what I paid before tax/fees after negotiation. Don't blame ME for killing it being imported. You shoulda bought THREE of them.

  • Well if the market doesn't want modern style scooters then the market SUCKS not Yamaha. Us americans are retarded when it comes to scooters. Yeah my C3 is retro but I would rather have a modern scooter if I would have got a larger engine. The only reason I got the C3 is because I didn't plan on being on the road with it as much as I am now, otherwise I would have gotten the Morphous. Also I didn't know the Morphous existed at the time

  • Like I said the Vespa is a quality machine. But it is overpriced and it is a preppy machine, it's a big name and I think it is a snobbish company. Vespa is way too arrogant. At least the Yamaha thought about shorter people with the Morphous almost all scooters are way to tall for me, even my C3 is too tall I can only put one foot down and the others are impossible. With the Morphous I could flat foot with both feet. No one respects shorter folks and it pisses me off!

  • you will be mine very soon baby!

  • people complain about the price when they're looking at the top of the range flag ship edition.

  • i just bought a 125cc for 4400euroes! i love it!

  • you could smoke a 2008 250r lmao

  • nice bike but way overpriced

  • ye i agree,but i live in dublin,wheather aint good,but traffic is heavy,dats wat u pay for i fink

  • @99cachorro Thats the exact same price I paid for my Vespa (2011 GTV 300) and I assure you, it's not overpriced. I wish I would have invested in a scooter way sooner. It may be more expensive than the other scooters, but I know that it will last.

  • hey, Piaggio(gilera) just won the gp250 with marco simoncelli..

  • great scoot, classic style...moz would love it

  • when talking about fuel efficiency, its not gay at all hahahhahah

  • what's the mpg?

  • This is pathetic. Another company sponsored motorcycle review. Seven grand for a pisscutter and they don't have one bad thing to say about it? It's all roses and cream right? This is why so many bike magazines and reviewers are ignored by the public. Just reading the script that Vespa handed them. Sad, very sad.

  • 7 Grand???? ROFLMAO!!!!! Many, many, better options out there for $7000.00.

    - Suzuki Burgman 650

    - Yamaha Majesty

    - Triumph Thruxton

  • the original vespas are better looking and cost around 2 grand why would anyone buy this new POS?

  • I don't get it; Why are you worried about what other ppl ride?

  • I'm not worried at all what other people ride. In fact I honestly and truly couldn't care less.

What I did, state, however, was that the competition offers a lot of scooter for considerably less than $7000.00 than Vespa is asking for the 250ie.

  • Oh I agree. But the truth is a lot of those bikes get right up there after tax and fees. The GTV is a bit more of a collector's scoot compared to even the GTS. But hey; It's American to buy the things we really want, even barring the cost.

  • why would you buy a new vespa? the old vespas are good i have a T5 mk1125cc and that does 80mph (its had the intake and exhaust ports made larger and it has a racing exhaust) and in england a T5 mk1 costs around £1500 thats around $2200 of course you dont get as many MPG as the GTV but its cheaper and alot more fun to ride.

  • do evry1 a favor n stfu

  • Italian pussy can be nice.

  • cats don't count

  • Flexfuel306 are you f'ed in the head or something, Your telling me you would get a little scooter thing over a Harley :|...well you clearly have no knowledge of bikes..you get a harley for the brand the look the speed and the signature growl it has...and this stupid scooter is 100% not faster then any harley ever made

  • Oh please. I'm the proud owner of a 2008 BMW HP2 Sport. A REAL twin cylinder bike. You know, the kind that don't sound like shit and don't vibrate the living hell out of you like a Harley does? Harleys are garbage. Slow, poorly built and insanely overpriced. Then again, I guess it's no surprise that Harley's aren't found in any of the world's best racing series': MotoGP, World Superbike, even AMA superbike. If you like your stone age tech, good for you. I won't be caught dead on a Harley.

  • Flexfuel a Harley is for a real man not one who wants his bike to drive for him...and the new harley's start at 10,000...and no harley's don't race tracks thats because they run the quarter mile..ya ever heard of top fuel drag bikes

  • Google: Larry McBride.

Fastest Top Fuel drag bike racer on earth, and guess what, he doesn't ride a Harley.....

  • That's funny; My roommate who has a Harley just rode my scooter and the first comment was "Man, the thing is quicker than my Harley!" The bigger point is ride what ya want. But if I want a "Real Man's" bike, I'm gonna get a Hayabusa and put every Harley or Buell I see around to shame in every regard to performance.

  • Why so much? Thats almost 7,000 USD! Get a friggen Used Harley, work on it . Jeez...

  • Because harleys are slower, worse on fuel and vibrate like crazy. This is a better choice.

  • for ladies maybe

  • Ahaha i spelt world wrong

  • BADASS!!!

  • You are a fucking asshole.

  • go play wrold of war craft

  • WOW!

  • can i order a chicken one??

  • that's funny.
