Looks like you can do this on normal difficult with a necromancer too. Just cast a tome of town portal after getting there, and walk back, or lure him with a clay/blood golem. Then bone spear him to death. All you need is two rows of mana pots.

Then after meph, the summon necro's biggest challenge is normal diablo. After that he can use revives and enigma to hang with the best of them. Necros rule!

Blizzard benefits from:

1. servers slowing down(Less maintenance cost-->Players move to new games, and a percentage of those games are property of Blizzard)

2. Bot ban patches. The truth is no bots get banned. Those that do only recreate themselves. The real people the patches aim are the most legitimate loyal Diablo fans. You may get banned from reason you don't even understand. (Again, move to a new game or purchase new CD)

Moat trick isn't the best way of doing it... there's a spot just by the stairs that you can tele into and meph won't attack you with melee. Obviously you'll take some damage but it's faster and you're only taking elemental damage, which you can counter with maxed resists.

My necro is my MF character (it works, believe me) I just need 12 skellies and about 5 revives and maybe a poison skell mage then I tele into his face with Enigma. I use a might merc but he doesn't have a weapon so he never gets the kill. (with all my summons doing several times his damage there's no chance.)

"Cheap mf gear". Ok, Tal Rasha's set. That's cheap mf gear with about 300% mf if you combine it with other cheap mf items (like a set of 25% mf boots and 40% chanceguards) and you also get 75 all resists in hell mode. In this "Cheap mf" set mephisto can't touch you.

This is not true. Unless they've changed the way item drops work since 1.09, the game rolls an item to check if it's unique, followed by set, followed by rare, followed by magic. So, in theory (when running bosses at least) the more MF, the better, but you don't want too much killing power/resists/stats for MF.

Also, the quality of the unique (its stats) are completely random (i.e. 150%-200% enhanced damage) when spawned. MF has no power over that.

slockhart sry but your talking nonsense. unknowndane is right almost. Magic find is based on brackets. 0%-250% and the next one is 250%-500% and so on. if your at the bottom of a bracket you'll get mostly magic and rare drops. if your at the top of a bracket you'll get more uniques. if you have 251% your at the bottom of the bracket. you CAN do close to 500 but that takes away from your "killing power" a lot. i recommend 250%. its perfect because you'll be geared strong and get mostly uniques.

I wasn't arguing MF vs killing power. He was saying that more MF is bad because you have a higher chance of rolling magic items than unique items which is completely false. Items are still rolled as uniques, sets, rares, and magics, in that order.

Of course you don't want to sacrifice MF for killing power, but negating the fact that you'll lose killing power with more MF, the higher the MF the higher your chances are for rolling uniques on item drops.
