franky1098 you ever been on one? i think if you have you wouldn't say that, by the way any one got parts for 1098? lol i need some handle bars, clutch, break levers few brackets below speedomter, crap like that
Great ride, thanks for sharing. Your apex's didn't kill my mood haha..
i know what your saying about the altitude, i live in vermont so sometimes i get that alittle bit but not nearly as bad. I remember once i was driving from Denver to Breck. in my friends loaded up Chevy Blazer and I had the gas PINNED and i was watching the speedometer drop from 75 to about 60 during an uphill section.
Gorgeous bike and thanks for posting the vid, but the early apexing was really killing the mood. I would like to see it again with better lines, especially in those long sweepers...
Early apexing killing the mood? LOL Well how about this - when you film your own bike vid on the streets, you can carve perfect late apexes. I'll keep that type of riding for the track and leave the margin of error for street riding.
But is there a reason that your left and right front shocks are adjusted differently on your triple tree? Thats not good it should be even. If you adjust your suspension you will be cutting up those corners 10 times better.
Very good catch! Indeed - I noticed the same thing after watching my video. As it turns out, my service dealer didn't properly adjust my suspension after installing a new fork seal. It could have been bad - but lucky i caught it after this ride!
Hey ramair nice vid!I have a Ducati 848 and i live in Erie(10 miles east of Boulder)I often go to netherland (Canyon road) may be I`ll catch u there!!!:P
Hey man - that is a sweet bike...... hopefully I'll see you around there on a weekend. I sometimes stop to catch some trout in the lake there at Nederland.
second.. i think i've been up that road and it is pretty scary to drive on. my aunt lives somewhere in the mountains and i think i recognize the inn/restaurant at about 1:50
i'm 15 years old and i wanna start riding motorcycles. first off i don't know how to do it or where to look, but they're cheaper to maintain than cars, and i hear gas mileage can be up to 90 mpg! any advice? thanks
Hi Josh - thanks for the compliments! If your Aunt lives around highway 72 outside of Golden, then this is the same area.I would recommend getting a scooter that is under 100cc's. Don't laugh, that's how I started when I was 15 and I learned a lot about riding without having to worry about too much power or shifting. They get over 100mpg in some cases and they are fun! Before you know it, you'll be stepping up to two wheeled ladder to your OWN Ducati :P
Love the video and the bike. I have been considering getting the 1098 as my first ducati, dunno between the 1098 and the 1098S...as for the guy who was knockin you for only "avg 50mph"...the canyon roads in Col. can be intimidating, i'd say you did a damn fine job on this road.
Don't mind at all - I started riding street bikes when I was 16, I'm 33 now and have had a bike every year since 16. First bike was a 2-stroke Yamaha RZ350 followed by a YamahaR6, Ducati 900ss, Yam R1, and now my Duc 1098.
Thx for the reply and great videos btw...i was just curious because i just turned 21 and i'm about to get my first bike this spring (Yamaha R1) with no prior riding experience...i really wish i could afford a 1098 right now but someday i guess lol...keep making videos !
You'll love the R1 (I like the underseat exhaust on the newer ones) - but be careful of the power if this is your first bike. I'm sure you'll learn fast but you'll want to be conservative with the twist grip at higher RPMs (no matter HOW hot the chick egging you on is:P. Good luck! I'll be making some more videos this spring (track racing as well).
That guy is talkin bull you are riding on the street why would you want to go any faster on the street and risk your license or life you would go to the track if you wanted to go faster And yes i have got a 1098s
Interesting comment xishan01 - have you traveled from your home country of Ireland and ridden this canyon in Colorado? I am assuming you have personal experience of going much faster than a "50 avg" on this particular road. BTW- those digital #s are MPH not KPH. Cheers
Nice videos! Losing 15hps is not a big deal while riding a 1098. There is plenty of torque on the medium range to have lots of fun. I would suggest hiding a mic under the seat and placing some cotton around it, in order to avoid the annoying wind sounds while enjoying the Termignoni ...soundtrack.

A little boring imo, the bike needs to upgrade the rider lol the bike can go a lot faster through those turns!

Actually a 250 CC Ninja is a great starter bike. Still fun and fast enough to get through the canyons - and comfortable for longer rides.
