ATWT 7-24b: Luke confronts Holden and Carly

so I just see this clip, where I live we are a year and a half behind. I only want to point out that about this WHOLE affair I only saw this clip, so I can only judge THIS clip...

I liked this little thing. I think it is cute. Carly is cute in this clip, Holden is. I understand that Holden felt good with Carly for a while.. Or at least cheated on Lily. Lily did SO many things to Holden. Honestly, too many things for a normal person to be forgiven.

Luke doesnt act rude towards Carly, and I looove that the writers didnt play the blame game where everyone hated carly like I thought they would!!

Lily also wasn't sleeping with Holden and Dusty at the same time.

She might not have hid it from the kids but she also didn't hide it from Holden; when she spent the night with Dusty in the Lakeview when she saw Holden she admitted where she had been with Dusty. In the episode where he came home form the camp and having sex with Carly he was having sex with Lily by the end of the episode.

Dusty was Holden's arch rival?

I'm not always an avid watcher but I do recall them getting along quite well over the years regardless what had happened when they were younger. Holden gave Dusty fathering advice when he was in the hospital with Johnny and Jen and Dusty were invited and attended Holden and Lily's renewing of their wedding vows.

Actually Holden slept with Carly twice and IMO did an awful job of explaining the affair so for all Luke knows it was a lot more than that.

what really irked me was when Holden was telling Lily and she asked if they had sex in the house Holden replied that it didn't matter when the answer was no! I'm sure to Lily it did matter and if anything the truth would of made her feel better. (if ever so slightly)

They'd probably have to move away for awhile. So far, three generations of Oakdalians (Parker/Luke, Jack/Lily, Lucinda/Emma) aren't happy about it. I also wonder if they can last. Holden is all about honesty (except for the affair) while Carly's life has been a series of schemes.

I think Luke's bio-dad Damian will return to woo Lily. There's no other reason for his name to suddenly come up again (giving Luke that money).

I think Luke is just very frustrated with his life and the people in it.

He's been (temporarily) paralyzed, his mother had drug problems and an affair, his boyfriend married a woman they knew little about, thus bringing in said boyfriend's deranged father back into the picture (and all the resulting drama) and now his father has had an affair. That's not to mention everything that happened before Noah came along.

Luke's angry, and so when the moment comes to strike out, he takes it.

I agree. Poor Luke is a horny 18 y/o virgin while Noah has already had sex, possibly even with men (Win hinted that Noah had a gay past, i.e. Gabe was a possible ex). While Noah often feels pressured by Luke, Luke often feels being held back by Noah.

I criticize him but longtime viewers know that I love Luke's biting angry sarcastic wit. When he was paralyzed, we commented on how we'll miss the "grouchy Luke."

I think Luke is being a judgmental prick and unfair toward Holden. When Lily was flaunting her affair with Dusty (Holden's enemy), the only thing Luke ever said was something like, "If you want to be with Dusty, maybe you should just stay with him." That despite the fact that his little sisters suffered, and she walked out on the family's Thanksgiving to be with Dusty. And unlike his condemnation of Holden, Luke actually felt bad for Lily when Dusty stood her up at a club.

Holden's affair is really a continuation of Lily's infidelity. And frankly, Nuke has no basis for assuming that things were ever back to normal after Lily's return. Luke was hardly with his parents. He didn't even know when Lily left and he was not there for Lily's return party. In fact, Luke never told his parents about going to NY until his return. Nor did he tell his parents that he was moving out of the farm into Noah and Ameera's cottage. This family has serious communication issues!

I agree, but then it is a soap opera, and Nuke or no, it is the screenwriter who is keeping them out of bed together. I agree that Luke's behaviour is not appropriate. The writer is doing the Gay community a favour though. He/she is portraying Nuke in a way that Fundys can't complain about so much. They are taking slow steps, establishing their love, and then will have loving sexual relations, not the maniacal passion that Fundys assert about Gay people.

Judgmental prig? Or maybe just, "you guys can commit adultery, but you don't let Noah and i sleep together, and for us it is not adultery." Be as "moral" with yoursleves as you are with me! Maybe Luke is just frustrated. Moralism is always an awful thing.

But Holden and Carly never prevented Nuke from having sex. In fact, no one has except for Nuke themselves. They CHOSE to stay at the farm with Emma's rules (which applies to everyone). They could have stayed in Lucinda's cottage. And it was Luke who decided not to move into an apartment with Noah after talking to Henry.

And justifiably so, but he needs to channel it better.

I want to add that putting the cautious and loving approach to sex on the part of NUKE side by side with the adultery of the heterosexual couple makes a point to those who want NUKE off the air. Of course, more compassion is in order, but seeing that heteros do not have perfect record in their sex and passion area, and THEN having NUKE finally consumate their relationship has a lot of P.R. value for Gay folks. I have heard of no complaints about the NUKE scene, or Max and Iago, here in Canada.
