my mum kept her baby she was married so not out of wedlock but her husband was at home screwing her best friend ANYway, after she gave birth the hospital just left her hemoraging (almost died) on the bed for 10 hrs. until a nurse finally realized she was still there. conditions in that day were horrible even for ppl considered to be doing the right things.

They're simply late term abortions, done on a very limited basis, and under a very specific set of circumstances. my mum kept her baby she was married so not out of wedlock but her husband was at home screwing her best friend ANYway, after she gave birth the hospital just left her hemoraging (almost died) on the bed for 10 hrs. until a nurse finally realized she was still there. conditions in that day were horrible even for ppl considered to be doing the right things.

I am still pro-life. I just cannot help myself. A mother will go through any amount of pain, not just physical pain, to ensure that their child is properly cared for. I can hardly stand that a mother would put themselves through all of this emotional torment and physical pain/death because society will not accept her precious, precious child that will never be because of all this. We should be there for mothers who need help raising their child. Woman should not have to choose life/death.

Wake up...even IF there are women who offer to take care of their kid, some women dont want to carry to full term. Not all women who are pregnant "feel" motherly and lovingly towards their kid inside them. Abortion should not be used as a method of birth control but abortions need to stay legal so backyard butchers as they were called back then, dont kill thousands of more women in that way. Just cuz its illegal doesnt mean it stops the action.....look at drugs & prohibition

Abortion is a topic that there will never be an agreement on - just read the previous comments and look at what it makes people say to each other.
But I think that there is one thing everyone can agree on - That after watching the final scene, you can't help but feel her pain and be left speechless.
I'm so thankful that today women have more options, not necessarily regarding abortions, but therapy, help and understanding - not the finger pointed at you to add to your bucket of "shame".

I would like to note, this is what is happening today for people suffering from drug overdoses. If help arrives, a cop is questioning them as soon as they enter the hospital. Many, many OD deaths could be prevented if drugs were treated as a medical, not a law problem. It's the same issue, sumputary laws (laws that govern human behaviour)..

Far too many people (especially young girls) think that a baby will just make them so happy with all the "love" a child is alot of work and responsibility, and back then there was very little help in place for women in her shoes. She would be fired from her job, her inlaws would stop paying for her home. and i'm thinking that she wouldn't love the child that caused that

@karlito5757 Yes, that's what I'm saying. The fetus is not viable. To create the kind of legislation you want would be to strike down the autonomy of the fetus over that of the mother. It is not possible to maintain both under such laws. The woman, the OWNER of the body, has a right to decide to carrying the fetus to term or not. You speak of it on the same level as a viable being, but that is simply not so. It's easy for you to disregard that because it's not a burden you could ever relate to.
