  • Amazing drums.

I own a dw kit and these babies absolutely kill.

  • I love the Ozzies! and then they come up with this work of art! I'm booking myself a little holiday trip to the factory just across the ditch. Stunning!

  • best kit i ever heard.

  • How about Page Drums?

  • would this mean this is easier to tune

  • @AFatGypsyFanny yes 100% easy best drums i have ever owned !

  • These are the best sounding drums made period.

I have owned 20+ sets. Now only 4. Selling a vintage

set of Rogers Holidays complete. Excluding bass pedal

Great condition. I want to buy a set of these Sleishmans.

  • To imply that a drum shell goes "completely dead" by simply mounting a piece of hardware on it is nothing more than a lame sales pitch. They are saying that DW, Tama, Sonor, Pearl, and all the rest manufacture kits with shells that do not resonate? Crazy. Plus, the tuning demo was very unimpressive as well, these guys must be tone deaf because all the lugs did not come up in pitch together.

  • @XDrummerSteve they dont say that the drums of dw and the others dont resonate.the shells dont resonate, but the drumheads do.i guess that they want tell us that you can just get the full resonance of a drum by using the freefloatingsystem

  • @alzhaimar thats right! thank you alzhaimar. Ofcourse all drums resonate and there are plenty of good sounding drums around. Our drum is where we optimise this resonance and create a pure tone.

  • @XDrummerSteve All traditional mounting system dampen the drum shell to a degree. Free floating system like this just free it. Pearl free floating snare employs same principle. ODCP bass durm has NO tom mounting plate because it uses same principle as well. These drums just happen to employ the principle to the whole drum set. Pearl durm has rim mounting, so is RIMS system and many other Companies. My take is why don't they do it in a studio setting so they can control the recording better?

  • @XDrummerSteve dont knock it untill you try i switched to sleishman drums after 30 years of all the others ! you will never find a better sound ever !!

  • I have been playing for approx 25 years and have worked in the drum industry for over 10 years and have played pretty much every kit available. Sleishman are THE BEST sounding kits I have come across. Yes all new high end kits sound excellent but these are on a whole different level!!!!

  • Frig ay, you guys are Aussies. Yaaaaay.

  • I like the Yamaha Oak custom. And have found no other manufacturer that works with Oak. Do you guys have oak SLeishman drums?

  • pearl mades a free froating snare, it's the same system.

  • @ThEpUrEfUcKiNmEtAl no, it's different.

  • @ThEpUrEfUcKiNmEtAl Hey man, NOT the same as the Pearl system. In the Pearl system the shell sits on a supporting system, the same system that holds the lugs and snare throw off so the shell is actually touching more than just the heads. The Sleishman system is the ONLY totally free floating system. Best sounding drums I have heard in my 25 years off playing.

  • An addendum to my previous post - I heard the block Jarrah snare on Shane's site and OMG. What an instrument. You're on to something.

  • Great demo. It really brings home what these instruments are about.

I like the glass analogy too.

Do you make your own shells?

I suffer from terminal geekery, but I'd like to hear them with different shells; e.g, acrylic, a Jasper formulation, a Vaughncraft steam bent, stave Jarrah, 45 and 30 degree edges.

It would be neat if you offered the ring assemblies for sale sans shells, for that matter. Then we could insert our own shells and save on shipping costs.

  • I AM SOLD!!! WOW!! KILLER SOUNDING DRUMS!!

  • NICEST SOUNDING DRUMS ON THE PLANET!!! :-)

  • Brilliant

  • @Egoguitar1

Still not sure how I polluted anything?? Please, "EGOguitar1", tell me why my comment was so out of line? Again, after reading all of your comments, it's clear that you get off on bashing people for no reason whatsoever!

Am I the only one here that inquired on this design? no... Does "C0zyDunt" deserve your comments b/c he thought they were a pearl rip off? no... Was my last comment to the manufacturer rude? I certainly don't think so.

Your are a troll - get a life...

  • I apologise , I should have checked, Pearl introduced the Free Floater in 1983 and it appears you guys were making them since 1978.

  • @C0zyDunt no worries : ) thanks for checking.

  • Not a Pearl rip off. Sleishman were building the first free floaters way earlier.

It's a different design and the suspension system is on every drum, not just the snare.

  • They sound great, but aren't they just ripping off Pearl Free Floater snare design?

  • they should change the name.... it sounds naff. Good sounding kit nevertheless.

  • best drums

  • They seem like they would not be very diverse in tuning (thus being a nightmare IMHO). Also all the weight of the drum (and the stick hits) would seem to put more strain on the bottom head than the top head.

This was the same type of tuning system used in the old snare drums used for marching drummers in battle. I, for one, would absolutely need the control to use different tensions from batter/reso. Now if we can make that happen without drilling the drum...hmmmmmmm........

  • @aaronled These drums are in fact extremely diverse. It's easy to get a good tone at any pitch, real quick.

There are no weight problems or stick issues putting strain on the bottom head. The shell is suspended and each drum feels great to play. We've been building them and they've been played by many for a long time now, no issues there.

The benefits of having no lugs, mounts or even badges bolted onto the shell are massive... It's a suspended shell drum that delivers killer sounds.

  • @sleishdrum

No disrespect intended! I would love to give em a try sometime and see for myself. I have been playing for about 23 years, and I've never seen anything like these.

I have to admit, I'm still a little put off by the system... BUT HEY - I never would have thought I'd like Yamaha drums when I was a kid, and I have been playing maple customs for 15 years now.

Either way - good luck to you and your company. Perhaps I'll stop in the booth next year and have a go ;)

  • @Egoguitar1

Wow - feel better? i can see i hurt your feelings for not being a Steven Adler fan on the other NAMM video - I sincerely apologize!!

It seems that not having the ability to vary your batter-to-reso tensions would be limiting. "Armchair quarterback"? It's called discussion.

After reading all of your other posts it's clear that you are an idiot (and at 36, you sure are accusing of other peoples ages for some weird reason).

Seriously...take a deep breath, relax, and let it go....

  • I have a set of these, my 4th drum kit and def. my last. I'm an average player and these drums make me sound much better than I am. I simply can't believe how good they sound and how easy is is to tune 'em (once you get the hang of it).

The drums I now play at home sound like a studio kit - I kid you not.

  • @theteak how do you find these drums are with regard to tuning? The reason i ask is because im very interested in purchasing one of these sets for my next drum kit. I really reaaally love the sound of these drums..they are so musical, warm and powerful. Sleishman really do have their own unique sound. But what frightens me is the tuning. I dont get get it. You crank the top head up and the bottom head automatically cranks itself up. Is that correct? What if i want the bottom head tighter???

  • @delitemyheart You can't tune the bottom and top heads independently but you won't need to because these drums are the bee's knees. Once you find the sweet spot you can tune the whole drum with one lug. They are sooooo easy to tune and sound amazing in any situation. Take the next step. Get Sleishman.

  • lol bees knees :)

    @tryanotherfuusername

  • @theteak........I mean what if i want to tune my bottom heads tighter than the top. For example i like my 10inch tom head on the bottom tuned a little higher than the top head, to get a bit of a pitch bend. And i generally like my 15inch floor tom tuned fairly even from top to bottom. Does the tuning system on these drums allow you to tune them like that or not???

  • @delitemyheart no need for that type of tuning with these drums you will get your pitch bend as you put it without any trouble ,once you own a set of these Sleishman Drums you will never go back to a lugged shell ,i get the best comments on my drum sound from every sound guy nut only since i got my Sleishmans :-)
