I partied with these guys in Tokyo at a popular bar called Y Pips a few days before New Years Eve of 1985 I believe. I had no idea who they were at the time, but they were a bunch of great guys to hang out with.
I remember when No Exit album came out, my mate and I were listening to it and this came on he said 'Long way to the top'! It's the same rythmn, same intro.
And i thought they were gonna do a cover of Kate Miller Heidke's Cant shake it, I guess they just arent good enough......Wasted my time listening to this.
two favorite bands are ac/dc and angel city. i havn't listened to angel city in 25 yrs so i sat here and listened to each and every one of these videos. brought back some great memories of some great parties we had growing up g.i. nebraska.memories are forever!
In the USA we knew them as Angel City (because of an American band was already named The Angels). Face to face was one of the best damn albums ever recorded. 20 years later and I can still listen to it anytime and love the hell out of it.
@TheChicagoChef Totally agree ..... there will never be another Bonn Scott , but gee it would be great to see Doc as frontman , better stage personality than the "screamer" .
I traveled with the boys years ago right after Bon died and Brians personality leaves alot to be desired. I still can't understand why Mel didn't fire him. He use to sit in the bar and make fun of the brothers height and he wasn't that tall himself.
My sister and I have heard from one of the old roadies that Brian keeps leaving but he has a contract. I think that Doc needs to step in and take his place. Doc has a great personality.
@TheChicagoChef Doc doesnt have the vocal range to do ac/dc. He just cant hit the high notes and you could always hear that in his speaking voice, and their stuff just has to be belched high. I imagine now he's older it's dropped even more. Not to downride him, great lyricist and frontman. The Angels eclipsed ac/dc in 1978 / '79 in my world anyway.
@genericgeorge Have you heard Jack Russell & Great White do it?? Amazing - Jack has an incredible range and voice. Thanks to The Angels for having great music, some of which the producer hijacked for his US band... GW also do a killer version of Face The Day.
@genericgeorge More intelligent music and lyrics im 23 and love the band seeing them for the 5th time soon seen various line ups with and without doc, Doc is the best though for an old bloke he pisses all over the young rockers, Screw Airborne and Wolf mother Doc and THe Angels are still here. I also think the Angels are better then ac/dc and not just cock rock.
the angels band was a glam rock band that sucked!! angel city was thier only hope in america. too fuckin; bad. they kicked ass!! same with with ROSE TATTOO w/angry anderson.
angusrocks6464, they were always 'The Angels' They are an Australian band and that was always their name. The name they used in the US was Angel City. I can't tell you why but that's just the way it is.
I remember as a teenager being absolutely in awe of the Angels, and walking around the house singing "I've got a monkey on my back and I just can't shake it". My mum explained to me that it meant he was addicted to drugs and could'nt shake the habit, so may be I should think about who my idols were! Nvertheless the most brilliant band I've ever seen!!

When Brian Johnson quits AC/DC in a few years they should ask Doc Neeson to be their singer.

I always had that dream since Bon left us.
And I'll never understand why that so extraordinary band didn't spread all over the world.
Australia gave us 2 huge rock bands
Thanks
