The whole purpose of this drumline is entertainment to the everday fans. Of course they aren't playing at the difficulty level of DCI/ WGI because they don't play for that type of crowd. Only people involved in music even know what DCI is. For the everyday college kid going to the football game, the USC drumline is perfect; they have catchy beats, awesome visuals, and they enjoy playing and draw the fans in. They couldn't do their job any better.

This isn't a cadence or other drumline showpiece, it's something they play with the rest of the band. It sounds good with the other music, whereas DCI strikes me more as being difficult for the sake of being difficult, rather than being musically entertaining to the general populous.

alright lets clarify some stuff. First, USC sits right next to hollywood, if there were another school that were as big as USC and closer to hollywood, they would have been chosen for all that. Second, im in a fuckin drumline, i know how to play, and i know what it being played in this video, and for how easy it is, the drumline plays it dirty, its very obvious. You guys really dont play hard stuff. And im pretty sure fleetwoodmac doesnt know shit about drumlines, he just wanted good dancers.

ok..while we are clarifying..Fleetwood Mac probably didn't (notice the PAST tense) know shit about drummers....but they did (notice the THEY...it's a rock band, deary....Mick Fleetwood is only one member) choose USC....and that whole Tusk, double platinum record thing was back in the 70's. I agree, the quints are a bit sloppy in some spots, but the snares are spot on and tight.

What makes USC so great? They are innovative. Bartner was breaking rules back in the 70's. The band was playing things that no one had the balls to play before them. Even before Tusk. That's why they got invited to play with rock stars. They still do. If you want precision...watch TBDBITL.....I've seen them...great technicians.... and they are a fucking snore.

I must agree with the first statement. USC is possibly the most over rated drumline in the nation. They decent but really have no true skill. Try and compete with any drumline from the Big Ten. You would get your shit handed to you. and as for this little Penn State USC rivalry you guys have going on.... Which line actually marches WGI and has won??? Yeah... that's what I thought. GO SUCK DICK USC!!!!
