Please check the information correctly in wikipedia.

Shut down Kai Tak airport becoz its passengers and cargo flow were up to the peak limitation of airport.

Also, Kai Tak have a runway only, it can't to be add more runway in a limited space.

So, British Hong Kong Gov. Developed a new airport at 1990s, that's now chek lap kwok internation airport.

BTW, Kai Tak airport opening for work untie close(1930-1998), there have a few time accident only and that is very lucky.
