Great interview. It's really funny, but at the same time you can really see the depth of their feeling and how they miss him, just in little subtle moments like James' face at the end of the interview. We need more of their like.
Nicky's a sigher...not a singer...I haven't heard a better assesment of Nicky's singing yet. His voice isn't a very good singing voice, yet it's not entirely unlistenable, sort of in a middle ground. I think he het the nail on the head there.
'Over-appreciated'?????!!!???? I think you'll find, Wire that it's impossible to appreciate the Mooro too much!!! Especially as during this album's promotion he's had almost no mention.

Hardly complex are they? only in their bloated egotistical minds. Their the musical eqivalent of tepid water, or if the word benial was manipulated somehow into a sound, it would play out over multiple hours and contain the entire body of the manics work. I think it's funny the way they want to be a everyman band like the smiths and oasis, but their so pretentious that they could never relate to about 95% of people. That and the fact every song they write is FUCKING SHIT.
Not too sure they do want to be an 'everyman band'. Yes the Smiths were very influential, yes Nicky likes Oasis (unfortunately) and yes Nicky makes reference to his 'working-class rage' almost ad nauseum. BUT what makes the Manics just that little bit special is that there's something unique about them, something classic-rock, even Queen-esque. They strike the balance (in my opinion) between those groups who take themselves VERY seriously and those who don't.

I like the beatles, bob dylan, jimi hendrix, the velvet underground, syd barrett, the clash, the stooges, the pixies all sorts of bands in the commercial and obscure spectrum, why does anyone like this band their not relevant in any way, their music is tedium, it's neither exciting or clever or complex as others have stated. It's literally a few fat marxists from a shithole in wales trying to be a sub par Smiths.
no problem, i was a bit harsh with what i said about the manics so i take it back. If the clash are your favourite band you'd probably love this documentary it's called 'joe strummer the future is unwritten' type it into youtube and all 15 parts are on there so you can watch it in entirety. Take care
you know what i take what i said back, your obviously all passionate about the manics, although i dont like them, i'm in no posistion to fill up their comments section with the things i've said. Let's call it quits
Must agree: WTF?? Jimmy??? Never heard that before. Actually as I remember (books, interviews etc.) noone ever called him Jimmy. It sounds a bit weird:)
If you start reading thins you CANT stop .Once ther was a little girl named Cecilia. She was a little 7 year old who got strangled and raped by a man =.If you dont post this to 15 other videos you will see CCecilia standing at the end of your bed with a knife and she will kill you
