I don't know about you guys, but most cities seem to look a lot better a few hundred years after our disappearance. I hate modern cities .... nothing but super ugly, tightly packed blocks of concrete where ever you look. No breathing space, very little green... just roads, cars, concrete and steel. Depressing. Most modern architects and city planners ought to be lined up against a wall and shot.

The big issue right now is peak oil, global warming is a cover issue as to not alarm the public to a real problem. Eventually the oil will run out and not only the economy, but society will collapse. Oil powers everything and it is believed that we passed the peak in 2006 and the economic slowdown has started.
I get what you mean, humanity thinks it's something special, we bomb our own people, we distroy our own planet, we hurt others. This just shows how great we our. With the way humanity is going, I would not be suprised if we end up going down this road in someway or form.
we have all of this negativity, but there is another side of humanity, and I think when it comes to this topic we completely ignore the positives of humanity. Every creature has had to adapt to the enviroment but since we adapted so well, we made the enviroment adapt to us, we adapted, in africa humans adapted to the hot sun by darker skin(no offence) when we ventured out people got lighter wen it got called, now we're smart the inviroment is being changed, when it changes and fnish, is it too late? if we adapt and our lungs will be able to breathe in a curtain amount of CO2 we still wuldnt be safe, becoz eventualy the sun will blow up =)

and seeing that humans come from africa. yea dark skin. it blocked most of the UV rays but when of course many went to colder climates the melanin had to weaken in order to absorb more sunlight to get vitamin D.. The different races aren't alll that different from each other. WE're in the same species, and essentially everyone is African.

yea its called species domination.. We do it. Its in our nature.. Why? When the first homo sapiens started to leave Africa(no more than 10 people). You found a world that was not so kind. of course we pwnt all of the other homonid species, and of course with our intelligence, ability to run long distances, ability to have an imagination, etc. We adapted and we prospered. And the fact that there are humans all over this planet. Many have said and still say its a miracle we survived as a species

so of course now that instinct that helped us survive is hurting us. I think though our instinct to adapt and use our imaginations outweighs everything else. Things will change, and are already changing. Civilization hopefully will change or we fall like many other civilizations before(for similar reasons).

The point is us humans are stupid. We are vastly intelligent when it comes to bookwork but as far as responsibility and practicality go, we are lost. In other words. We are too smart for our own good, and one day it will kill us all. All our rediculous superficial world will dissapear in a flash and everything we thought would always last will be gone. Religion, Politics, Society, all gone.

We are not stupid, just short sighted. The people in positions of power who could address problems we face do not, this is due largely to greed. The big issue right now is peak oil, global warming is a cover issue as to not alarm the public to a real problem. Eventually the oil will run out and not only the economy, but society will collapse. Oil powers everything and it is believed that we passed the peak in 2006 and the economic slowdown has started.

I get what you mean, humanity thinks it's something special, we bomb our own people, we distroy our own planet, we hurt others. This just shows how great we our. With the way humanity is going, I would not be suprised if we end up going down this road in someway or form.

we have all of this negativity, but there is another side of humanity, and I think when it comes to this topic we completely ignore the positives of humanity. We have curiousity, resilience(amazingly), adaptive, extremely social in fact to even have a war or conflict involves large amounts of dehumanization of the so called "enemy" otherwise societies generally won't support wars, and we multiply quite fast :D

and I think because population pressures will increase. We will adapt, and we will start colonizing space. I say this, and my dad goes "before we can that we need to get along here." and I always tell him "rather we get our shit together or not won't matter because we're still going to be colonizing space" We won't unify until something happens like a first contact war or we're introduced into some galatic civilization(mass effect does sound cool).
