    WHERE'S THE ONE WITHOUT TITLES

    IS THERE ONE WITHOUT TITLES

  • Wikipedia says:

"Prior to the show's premiere a short animated promo was released which utilized a graphic-style more similar to the graphic design of the games. When the show was being produced, the designs of characters were changed, most likely to better appeal to American audiences"

Is this video that "promo" episode?

As I recall this movie is called "Megaman Upon A Star", and am under the impression that the "promo" episode for Megaman cartoon is different than this. If I'm wrong correctme

  • When was this released. Who released it? And is this the "promo reel" for the Megaman cartoon series? I heard the promo reel for that looked a lot more anime like than the final design of the Megaman cartoon. So I suspect that this is that promo reel? Or at least the Japanese taking the the promo reel and doing what the Americans didn't do with it, actually making a show that was in the same graphical style as the promo?

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 This is Megaman: Upon A Star, an OVA(Episodic anime movie if you don't know what it is) released in 1994 by ADV Films to teach Japanese culture, it has little to do with the American cartoon series.

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 The OVAs were pilots for a Megaman cartoon, but this was before anime became popular in America, so the creators decided to make the show look more American, resulting in Megaman looking the way he did in the cartoon.

  • This never got a full series... Why?

  • @Jesterclown17 Anime wasn't popular in America at this point, and while the openings are action-y, for lack of a better term, the rest of the OVA was more educational, focusing on teaching America about Japanese culture.

  • If this is the 2nd...what's the first?

  • did they really think that this would turn us off back then. this looks way more like the game then the turd nes cover.

  • Comment removed

  • Those fight scenes look a-ma-zing.

  • Megaman has the happiest walking sound I've ever head.

  • @demoghist Then you clearly never haired Kirby's walking sound. x)

  • @demoghist;

Sounds plentily the same as Care Bears' cloud car in the original 80's cartoon :)

  • This makes me so happy! its so retro <3

  • ...awesome

  • lol gravity man must be vary self centered lol, red mascara

  • I want this theme song, anyone knows the name?

  • @thexmario Apparently it was composed by Haoru Ohhori, but I can't find anything about the soundtrack through a google search.

  • hey guys ive got a joke.

how does a gamer relax himself?

answer:he wiggles his joy stick! XD

  • This loosks awesome

  • no this is megaman not the other "DIC"*deek* show that wasssa bad idea

  • To bad Capcom never thought of doing an anime series, using this animation.

  • @0FreezeMan0

that would be dream come true :(

  • 0.09 oh he looks like badass now

  • this is amazing now this is what megaman is i don't know why they couldn't do the same with the american cartoon

  • The thing is: They were originally going to, but changed it at the last minute.

  • really too bad they didn't would of been great to see when i was younger ^_^

  • 0:37 why is Proto Man standing like a girl?

  • @fliqpy0708 wait,if that scene took place in megaman v then why the hell is blues helping megaman? i know he is innocent but megaman pwned gravity man by himself without help. that makes no sense.

  • I don't get it. The credits are in English, but this was only released in Japan, right?

  • Out of all the Openings for this, this one is probably my favorite

  • what does OAV stand for?

  • It's a typo. It really says OVA meaning "Original Video Animation".

  • It could be "Original Anime Video"?

  • People say he should've been in Brawl.

  • People are right

  • cool music, very engaging, perfect match for action cartoons.

  • Dude, I'm a huge fucking nerd for noticing this...

but the sound effects here are basically those used in the Mega Man Legends games (Rockman Dash in Japan). Like, the impact sounds, the jumping, etc.

  • What's funny is that this is the best part of the anime. The plot of the episodes themselves just got increasingly boring the more it dragged on, but the intros were like a constant fangasm. I mean, just look at the action... and listen to that damn music!

  • "Appearance in Japan"

    I love that.

  • i love this episodes i watched the episode where rockman fights gyroman that was a great fight!

  • *sigh* Why doesn't japan realize that America is not made of surfers? I love Japan, but some things they can't get right.... T-T

  • Wow you guys are right this cartoon is awsome I wish it was around when I was a kid. The american one was okay too but this one is much better.

  • All MM5 Characters

  • I wonder who made this piece of GENIOUS!!!!!!!!

  • This is how the other Mega Man series should have been done....

THE FIGHTING ROBOT !!!(intro song)---lol ¬_¬

  • OH GOD NO (lol)

  • gotta love this artwork style and the music is just amazing.

  • We need a new Megaman cartoon (MADE BY INAFUNE AND NOT ON 4KIDSTV) with the voices from MegaMan Powered Up.

  • agreed

  • Word up, Its bad enough Al Kahn ruined Sonic, but we won't let Megaman get ruined too.

  • Yeah, the last thing we want is Amy Palant (Who voiced Miles "Tails" Prower in Sonic X) voicing Mega Man.

    "CUTTING IT UP!" ^_^

  • Yeah. We need a decent english kid-sounding Megaman. (someone that sounds like a 10-year-old boy...and not a surfer) Nothing that sounds like a teenager or anything from the cartoon or the crappy US dub of the EXE anime.

I mean, the voice actor for Megaman in Megaman 8 is decent. In my opinion, the english voice actor for Megaman in MMPU sounds a bit like a surfer.

  • @MegaMan8778 if we could get that done, we would need unison of many megaman fans old and young alike, i think it would be a great idea, make it reminiscent of great anime like dbz / inuyasha, etc, but we would need a joint group effort, like megaman network, megaman zero boards, megaman fan sites etc.... petition a large enough group and we may see that potential one day

  • @MegaMan8778 Too bad Inafune has left Capcom.

  • @Lumpali *sniff*

  • @MegaMan8778 Only if Megaman sounds like a 10 year old boy. Not a pre-teen or teenager.

  • @MegaMan8778 I'm not sure the powered up voices are the best choice.

  • whoever made this should make another megaman tv show. with this japenese animation and good storylines. :) i'd watch it till i die

  • If only the Power Stone weapon WAS that strong, let alone useful.

  • Unbelievably there WILL be a live action Megaman. Only that Megaman will look like Jet Li, and since it is non profit there is no way in hell it will be finished... or good for that matter.

  • This is way better than that cruddy american Ruby-Spears Cartoon!

  • I really like the Japanese theme better than the American one.

  • If there were a way to make this action real again...and perhaps in the American hand instead of it being Japan.

  • that slide was sick

  • I absolutely agree with you on that.

  • is this an ova or is the anime??

  • fisken. It was a lie chain letter. They won't delete it.

  • Howdy! So someone has made up that ridiculous message to bother people?! A LIE??!! That's just rude. Why does people lie about that kind of stuff, is it to make people upset? I know I would be very upset if they deleted everything of cartoons that is my entire childhood. And if so, that stupid joke is not funny at all. Even when I get mad at the idiots lie about it, I'm still glad it's not true, though.

  • Hey peoples who's love try to help VampirezombieX and me to protest they don't delete anime from youtube

  • Megaman series, capcom always got the music to fit the levels, for example all the "cold" based bosses had levels with music that had a jingle bell (not the song) based sound to it.

  • The musics of Megamans will be always the best

  • U said it, psle06! I love the music of Mega Man too. It's written in my profile, that Nintendo music (including Mega Man), r my favorite music in the whole, wide world. Nintendo will never quite disappear.

  • The intro alone kicks ass! Why didn't they release this outside of Japan?

  • Maybe it is possible to get it somewhere on a shop or something? :o)

    Rock Man ROCK!!!! (^~^)

  • That's right, you can get the DVD anyplace that sells movies.

It has both the dub and the original version so it's a good buy.

  • Yes. But that may only be in countries outside Europe.

I'm from Norway, so I don't know if there's any possibillities here. But is it possible to buy it via Internett?

  • Do you mean to watch on the internet?

I don't know of anyway to do that, but you can buy the DVD from internet stores like Amazon.

I'm not sure what regions it's available for, but it's worth checking out.

  • Hehe... I've buyed a movie DVD from Amazon before.

    I LOVE Mega Man!! (^~^)

  • Because, it was back when anime wasn't popular or suddessful in US. Not until 1996 When Dragonball Z and SailorMoon were broadcast regularly on cable.

I wish they would have released it around that time.

  • It actually aired on Public Television. This whole OVA series was produced by Japan's center of foreign relations as a way to introduce kids to Japanese culture. They figured, let's use Mega Man, he's pretty popular outside of Japan. The end result is something that could air on PBS with more action than what aired on Saturday mornings.

  • ...

  • Me too. Just like in the game (Mega Man 5).

How does anyone do that? (^~^)

  • rocky is supposed to look like a kid, hasnt anyone ever played the games before o_O;

  • If you're talking about Rock Man, he's name isn't Rocky.

  • god you're an idiot

  • No, I just said his name was Rock, and not Rocky.

No offence, if you thought that!

  • Wait! Napalm Man's weakness is the crystal ball!

  • Awesome animation and good use of the powers! Anyone else think that the beginning part of the repeating melody sounds exactly like The Chala opening of dragon ball z?

  • The first few notes kinda sound similar.

  • i have this on dvd

  • Where did you get it???

  • sun coast

  • i LOVE megaman!!!! LOL (: megaman looks like a baby HIHI!!

  • Mee too, and I agree with you about "baby-face MegaMan". But what does LOL mean? :o)

  • megaman looks like a child... lol

  • He's supposed so look like a kid, that's how he looks in the old games.

  • he is... <.<

  • That's how he's supposed to look. The best version is Megaman 8, which is a better detailed version of this Megaman rendition.

  • No way, the Megaman 8 version just didn't seem to fit. I agree with you on this version though, it's always been my favorite lol.

  • @iLO80 +1 absolutely right.

  • Using Wave on Napalm Man...?

  • Water Wave is Napalm Man's weakness.

  • No wait, you're right. Rock should be using Crystal Eye.

  • where's the rest of the darn video?! :b

  • If you search for "YouTube - Rock Man OAV", you may be able to find it. Good luck! :o)
