  • I listen to this almost daily, really incredible

  • What's fabulous? the dynamics and the clarity. done.

  • HOROVITZ AND RUBINSTEIN THE BEST CLASIC PLAYERS. THE BEST CLEAN ,CLEAR TECNIC YOU CAN FIND.

  • @UNOENELTODO don't forget to include Richter, Gilels, and the great Rachmaninov too

  • This is great. I've never heard him ply this before. Great pianist like Horowitz and Watts give you what's on their minds, clearly, and of course they have great technique. The emotion and logic seem to be most important.

  • OH DEAR LORD!

  • @bulmakitty

    What happened ?

  • @geertdehoux It's absolutely fabulous!!!

  • @bulmakitty

    What is absolutely fabulous ?

  • @geertdehoux The way he plays this piece! His performance is fabulous!

  • @bulmakitty

    OK.

    And WITHOUT Del Pueyo's fingering!!

    :-)

  • @geertdehoux exactly!!!!!!

  • @bulmakitty

The great, legendary Janneke once said: "Aap Del Pueyo is the GENIUS of FINGERING ah!"

Another legendary piano teacher, Mr J. van Tuik, said Horowitz ALWAYS had a certain product with him on very social parties!

    Regards,

    Don Hart.

  • Why are people so anal about minor mistakes. Some of the greatest recordings of the early and mid 20th century had the occasional flub, but the pianists from that era were far more passionate, far more innovative than the assembly line of technically perfect automatons winning today's international competitions.

  • @newguy90

    Well said!

    I agree with you.

  • Horowitz's dynamic contrasts, subtlety, restraint and overall conception of the piece speak for themselves. His real connection to the 19th century romantic pianists, and his lifetime of maturation as an artist all come together in this performance.

In his younger days he may have shown more technical flash, but I think he transcended into higher levels of artistry.

  • this is why horowitz is one of my all time favorite pianist

  • @peter96

The great Prince can play the piano well, too!

And so could Elvis, the King of Music forever...

And the Thai Or Charn!! FANTASTIC!! All with 3 - 4!!

  • Magnificent!

  • I have to agree with the crowd that H's restraint in use of the sustaining pedal is outstanding and produces a great sound. .

    '

  • Although some minor 'imperfections', an INTERESTING MUSICAL approach!

  • @geertdehoux When I read you, for me the most INTERESTING MUSICAL approach (i m musician too) is to explain us your favorite choice...maybe without imperfections ??

  • @bertrandui

Why do you think I have 'a favourite choice', anyway ?

I respect and appreciate all good and interesting performances.

By the way, I've been told the great Jeanke tried to play it even faster than Joske's father... but could he and could he do better, who knows ?

    :-)

    Regards,

    Geert Dehoux, pianist.

PS. Have you heard the legendary NEKEARBREV's legendary performance ?!

  • @geertdehoux Ok, I understand. I visit your channel. your interpretation of etude 1 op10 of Chopin is excellent (others pieces too). It will be interesting to listening your interpretation of etude 12 op 10 sincerely.

I don t know Nekearbrev, is it a joke?

  • @bertrandui

    Thanks.

Interesting you use the word 'interpretation' for my recording of Op. 10 N° 1.

I think that's the right word.

OK, I promise you, as soon I've all recording material standing here, I'll make a video recording of Opus 10 N° 12, "especially for you" (like Elvis).

    Nekearbrev a JOKE ?!!

Please, don't tell the great Nekearbrev he's a joke!

    :-)

    Regards,

    Geert Dehoux.

  • @bertrandui

By the way, I recently discovered Alejandro Corona's performance of Opus 10 N° 12 on Youtube.

I had never heard his name before.

I think he's a very good pianist with interesting musical ideas.

    What do you think ?

    Regards,

    Geert Dehoux.

  • @bertrandui

    as soon AS, sorry.

  • HEEEJ!! Da mocht ni fan Janneke!!

  • I like this. It's not soaked in sustain pedal like some other performances I can mention. *cough* Valentina *cough*

  • @colourfulwithaU

    zacly...

  • debates are boring, cant we jsut talk about somthing nice

  • Horowitz & Argerich were great pianists, but IMO Barenboim & Kissin are gods...

  • @Bobbygr1000

    Aldo's god's name is Titan.

  • This étude is an great exercise for the left hand!

  • @fernando365493

    Yeah, it is!

  • If this song doesn't make you tap your feet you must be deaf

  • @chrissyluvspeace

    And clap your hands ?

  • I generally don't like Horowitz very much, but I do appreciate that he doesn't overuse and abuse the pedal like many pianists [including myself] do when playing this piece.

  • @colourfulwithaU

    Indeed, he didn't.

  • With all my respect to Horowitz, I think that Kissin plays this piece best of all in the world!

  • Comment removed

  • @worras2007 Kissin is a banger. Nowhere near the musicality or subtlety of H. All you hear is the chops, not the music.

  • @orqsilva If Kissin is a banger, then you are probably deaf.

  • @worras2007

    Deaf of banging ?

  • @worras2007 Compared to Horowitz, on the recording I heard, Kissin, the blonde with nice tits, Litsiana or whatever her name is, they all use toooo much pedal and bang and blur everything together. No one can play the Romantic Repertoire like the pianists who were taught by and had ties to Liszt, Anton Rubenstein, Czerny, et. al. That's just how it is. Just like you will never get a tortilla in the supermarket that tastes like one straight from the factory in Guadalajara.

  • @orqsilva As you might notice, I never insulted neither Horowitz, nor the ones who favour him. I also show my highest respect to such grands like Horowitz, Rubinstein and others the talent of which I cannot even dare to question. But there is no need to attack or offend me just because I like Kissin too as in my PERSONAL opinion, Kissin is one of the most promising young performers and he is simply born to play the Revolutionary etude (at least the way I imagine it shall be played).

  • @worras2007 I don't see anything in my statement that can be construed as an "attack" on you personally. You are never even mentioned. I was just talking about the music and the musicians, nada mas.

  • @orqsilva When you talk, esp. about music, I suggest you chose your words. "Kissin is a banger" yea? If you ever manage to play like that, snobish moron, then you can criticize.

  • @orqsilva

Algunas perrei ranas dicen: "Nunca m'as", pero no hablan en serio!

    :-)

  • @worras2007

    Better than Roberreke Loeës ?

  • one of the best versions of this etude..

    very good..

  • Lugansky is amazing on all the etudes.

  • @skuzinsk

    More than NEKEARBREV ?!

  • the best and most professional interpretation along with richters ..thanks for uploading this masterpiece:)

  • @The1alex24

Do you think Richter gave us a RRReal 'inteRRpRRetation' of this piece of music ?
