I think Congress should include executive non-severability clauses: "if any provision of this law is held to be unconstitutional by the president or the White House office of legal council, within one year of its becoming law, the whole of this law shall be inoperative." It obviously doesn't work for veto overrides, but a veto is the correct way for a president to respond to a law he (or eventually she) regards as unconsitutional.

He also has put forward bills to the senate when no-one has even seen what the bill says, when he said that everyone in the US would get 5 days to read the bills before it was signed.

I also agree that we need to do away with signing statements altogether. They're clearly a cynical way to subvert laws passed by congress. They have no place in a true democracy.
However, Bush did use more signing statements than all previous presidents combined.

I think Congress should include executive non-severability clauses: "if any provision of this law is held to be unconstitutional by the president or the White House office of legal council, within one year of its becoming law, the whole of this law shall be inoperative." It obviously doesn't work for veto overrides, but a veto is the correct way for a president to respond to a law he (or eventually she) regards as unconsitutional.

I watched a video about the controlled collapse of argentina, and the political powers in the shadows brought forth a presidential candidate with large sideburns, who spoke of changing things, working for the people, etc. He of course broke all of his promises, proving to be another puppet who would sell out the people's country to the IMF and others.
