Harvesting the Little Sisters grants you more Adam EARLIER in the game, but ultimately slightly less at the end of the game.

If you save all of them: You get a "good" ending. You bring the sisters up to the surface and live your life.

Both if you save some and harvest some or harvest all of them you get the same ending but the voice over has a sad or angry overtone respectively.

You get 80 adam for rescue, 160 for harvest, but for every two little sister you save you get another 200 adam plus ammo. so rescue is worth it.

It's a person (Splicer?) who is brainwashed to act as a Big Daddy does, and their skin is fused to the suit. That is, if memory serves.

If you want to be really cheap in Neptune's Bounty you can try luring the first Rosie back to the beginning. Just get to the other side and stay on top of the fallen bulletin board and you can take pot shots at it until it's dead. Rinse and repeat twice and you'll have a nice bulk of Adam to use right at the start of the level.

How to beat big daddys in hard: skip them until you get the crossbow, the GL, and the chem thrower, set up trap bolts and trip mines, tempt the big daddy into the trap by shooting it once, if it lives, use electric gel to stun it constantly while damaging, if you run out of Electric Gel, switch to Nitrogen/Electric Buckshot, continue shooting till it moves no longer. This is the easiest way I know off to kill a Big Daddy on hard.

They actually get easier when you get the explosive ammo for the shotgun and the heat seeking rockets for the launcher, and a good thing to do against Rosies is to get their bombs and throw them back at them (ya know, the proxy bombs they throw, grab them with telepathy)

And make sure to activate an alarm at some point so that you can get a guard bot :)
