  • I think it's funny how Jamie didn't even get it, like she really thought she could still win.

  • One of the most excited episode ever..I love this game show..

  • no whammies...just...no whammies

  • Ed, you retard... hits $5000 square twice, could of stopped, but thought "Fuck it... I can pull a Michael Larson on this board too" Then hits a whammy and has one of the most epic spastic attacks ever on a game show XD.

  • it's dr frazier crane!

  • Of all Michael spins, his LUCKIEST spin was his last one when switched from $700+spin to the BAHAMAS that cold've been a whammy.

  • LOL I WOULD OF PAUSED THE TV AND F-WARD THRU THE COMMERCIALS AND PICK IT UP FROM THERE

  • Comment removed

  • I want to see a 15 minute special on Ed. Like a short "Where Are They Now?" kinda thing.

  • I liked seeing Ed get his smarmy ass handed to him...

  • I always dreamed what would happen if there was an "Add a one" when Lawson crossed the $100K threshold. The place would have gone nuts.

  • You would think after watching Michael play for 40+ spins, Ed & Janie would catch on to the patterns as well, right?

  • y'kno sumthing, when he got that money, he was unemployed and what not, the dude spent ages learning about the game, came on, turned his life around, and probably is doing fine, what a weird guy.

  • @sgogins He passed away in 1999.

  • @sgogins he actually lost all his winnings in two years, ended up working at walmart as a manager, and ended up dieing of cancer kinda broke...

  • @sgogins No...... he became obsessed and quickly lost it all.

  • @MrLogoman007

No, he lost a chunk being swindled on a real-estate con, then was robbed of 40k. He then started his own swindles and died in Florida in hiding with 2.5 million to his name.

Little less than "all". A lot less. In fact the exact opposite of all. About 2.4 million opposite.

  • You would think after watching Michael play for almost an hour, Ed & Janie would be able to catch on to the patterns as well.

  • Real Estate? bad choice.....

  • Of the 5 patterns, only one pattern Michael never stopped with

  • Ed hit his 2 whammies in the same square that's weird.

  • the chick looks like weird al

  • Does anyone find it funny that we're calling them by their first names like we are familiar with them? ed, michael and the chick

  • When I saw the documentary of this show I learned the contestants had 5 patterns to memorize.

  • Micheal Larson

    You are a boss!

  • Only two words can sum up a show like this... DEAR GOD.

  • @Kobra750 Oh, God... I know! AMAZING.

  • And he pissed it all away on some real estate ponzi scheme.

  • I can't blame Michael for hugging Ed at 4:54. I'm sure both of them were relieved it was all over. I have to wonder if Ed really wanted Michael to win, and if so at what point.

  • why does the wammy remind me of elmo?

  • ED WAS LIKE NO DOONT PASS IT ON!!! 3:02 (mumbles) here we go again!!

  • Yeah, let's see more of Press Your L- WHAT THE? COMMERCIALS!!? GO AWAY!!! I WANNA SEE MORE PRESS YOUR LUCK!!! X3 I don't know why they were there, but man that was just hilarious. XD

  • I seen Ed hit 2 $5000's in a row, I thought "here we go again"

  • to bad he lost it all and died.

  • to bad he was a idiot and lost it all: then died of throat cancer

but good eye catchin the patterns

  • Genius!

  • michael larson would never stop spinning

  • He already knew all the patters from watching the tv show everyday... =/ its his fault that they changed the patterns....!

  • It was because of him, it wasn't his fault at all. They knew it would happen one day, but they ignored the fact that it could happen after having so many contestants. It's the producer's fault for not putting a limit on the cash and prizes to be won on the show, but the damage is done.

  • Right..they paid him his cash and prizes (every dime of it), and then they changed the patterns on the board to prevent a repeat.

  • Like that really happened the still had patterns after that dabacle... the slowed the lights then the sped it up and changed the pattern again then the changed the pattern in late 1984 the changed it for the last time

  • Lol He gives the guy a hug and shakes the girls hand................... shouldnt it be the other way around?

  • Lmao I just noticed that! xDDD

  • Except he knew Ed by that point. If you listen closely, he says to Ed, "I didn't want to do that to you."

  • maybe he's gay

  • i love how he passes the spins after he hits a hundred grand

  • Ed was trying to do the same when he hit those first 2 $5000's

  • Ed was pissed when he hit that whammy.

  • If you just pay close attention you can do what Michael did.

  • JUST pay close attention? I don't know about you, but even being on television like that, i wouldn't be able to pee straight much less keep up with those patterns and keep from passing out around the $35k mark

  • They got dominated!

  • now that's how you play press your luck. michael larson showed them

  • R.I.P. michael larson

  • I heard that when this show aired as the Press Your Luck Scandal that contestants when they applied to be on this show there were five patterns they had to memorize.

  • Yes there were 10 patterns...but the evidence based on the videos proves Michael only relied on four of them (2 for square 4, 2 for square 8). He ignored the other 6.

  • My error. I meant $250,000 approx. in today's funds. I'm sure you knew that. :)

  • whats the current day total adjusted for inflation?

  • ALSO, JANIE SHOULD HAVE PASSED her 6 spins!

  • Ed should have passed with $10000.

  • Ed should have passed with 5000! What if this had happened with cathy getting 6 digits, and lori getting 24965, and the Cathy had lost the dough because randy passed the last spin form 3rd place?

  • He would have been better off driving the ice cream truck. I feel bad for him: a bum like him finally gets a break, and he loses it all anyway. how cruel.

  • he lost it all?

  • He was lucky (even though he kinda cheated...) because at 4:04 he hit it too early and the 700 and a spin changed to the Bahamas. He was lucky because there was a whammy there too. haha Also i noticed he hugged Ed but just gave Jnie a handshake hahaha

  • "Idaniel2337":

It was later revealed that Janie wasn't enjoying Michael's run at all. The more money he was racking up, the angrier she got.

Watch "Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal". It'll reveal everything.

  • I heard that he cashed all his money into one dollar bills.

  • How come Mike couldn't return to PYL?

  • Champions winning over $25,000 were retired undefeated.

  • very lucky man!!!

  • Not lucky, genius, he memorised the patterns.

  • He lost all his money on a scam, so not that much of a genius.

  • @Octavium Not genius, bored, he spent his time memorising patterns... Not exactly Rocket Science lol

  • It's classic, but it's also funny because you can easily win that much in game shows now-a-days. x_x It sux that Whammy! got canceled on GSN, though. I wanted to go on there so bad!

  • I didn't know Whammy was canceled! Then again, I didn't really like its new first round "keep going and freeze" rule.

  • Even if Janie hit Add a One on her last spin, she'd be $102 short.

  • add a one?

  • Add-A-One places a one in front of your score, so since Janie had $10135 before her spin, she would have $110135 afterwards. So yeah, she would have fallen barely short. But I actually didn't see Add-A-One on the board, so she couldn't have hit it. The next thing she could have done was hit $5000 and a spin 10 nine times, bringing her to $55135, then if she hit Double Your Money and a spin, she would have $110260, giving her $23 more than Michael.

  • Correction: double $55135 = $110270 ($33 more than Michael).

  • You know you're rich when they can't even fit the dollar sign ($) on your LED display! Go, Michael!!!

  • I know. That display just isn't built for six digits!

  • though, back then, they were actualy arrays of lightbulbs. :D

  • lol, that nerd's reaction was priceless!

  • Was the person Ed was screaming about his wife, son, or what?

  • Who cares? Ed's hilarous! He's my favourite contestant out of the three. That's why I'm asking for his first episode.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing that episode myself whenever it surfaces on here.

  • I think Toby is Ed's son.
