  • its too far beyond.

  • its not gunna change ...mark my words.... 80 is NOTHING before you change all "THIS" you gotta change people you gotta change government and you gotta change society....its not gunna happen in 80 years im sure there will be some pretty sweet cars though

  • When did WAT become the new what?

  • there should be invisible spray even tho the can is gunna be different which is cool but yea that in the future it can happen in 2028 or 2038 or 2048 2058 2068 wat ever year the 21st century is gunna kick butt!!! im loveing it and there be cyborgs too in the future and robots that walk around is around the corner differnent than sci fi movies there can be any robot type in the future and do any thing

  • magnetic cars on tracks

  • If all cars used H2 (or carried H2O to covert to H2), how many gallons of water would it need to go ~100 miles before filling up with more water? If a car used H2 to power itself and the byproduct was water, could a car be filled with water at the factory and then never need to be refilled again?

  • can anyone write all this video?

I need to translate this video to spanish.. I know English but just a little. I can't understand a lot of part of the video

    please HELP

  • Horses, if we're lucky.

  • Internal combustion was a bad idea? Really!?! Internal combustion has brought us where we are today.

  • @patio87

    q.e.d.

  • The cars will take over us like in the movie of 1986 Staring Emo Esty Maximum Overdrive. you know, because of Artificial Life, Intelligence and maybe even souls

  • @uilium ahh that can happen to scare ppl just think of it

  • @mquiroz90 Who the hell's Emo Esty? I think I meant something like "Emilio Estevez"

  • The hydrogen fuel car, the Clarity, is only around the south of Cali because that area is the only place hydrogen refueling stations are set up, it will start to grow, when there are more refueling stations brought around the country. By 2088 I can see more nanotube-built structures in mass quantities, but more developed and automated to make beautiful, intricate, but still very elegant designs, there might even be a newer even better way of construction by then.

  • @1Enkyo vehicles be running on plasma and nuclear too in year 2088 theres like billions or above trillion of mind thoughts of the future and technology

  • If you look at the past 10 years, quite a bit has come out. First is the up and coming operating of a fusion generator or the beginning of one in California, a plane that can shoot a missile out of the sky at 60 miles away with a beam of light... and lastly a fuel cell that (Given it is expensive) creates energy with just a wafer of beach sand coated with two special pastes, from my eyes these are relatively big steps that you average person doesn't hear about that often.

  • Well mobility probably won't change drastically in cities because cities are so poorly designed and the ones that are BIG metropolises have been around for centuries. Now mobility can't evolve for cities because new ways wouldn't be able to coupe in that old city, so unless a totally new and innovative city is made over the next few years just for the soul purpose of expanding urban technology it can't evolve to quickly.

  • Ah this video discounts so many things, such as personal ego, and money, peoples greed and business the need to make money and hoard it not to mention the patent system, hoarding ideas as they may pay off. I suspect this is the reason we've not advanced too far upto now. Think of Nikola Tesla and when you read his story, you'll realise why we never advance too far too fast.

  • considering that people back 80 years ago thought we would be driving flying cars by the year 2000 and the fact that the internal combustion engine has been around since the dawn of the 20th century i think that developments wont be as advanced as people think unless there is a breakthrough invention by some rare genius. so i think the world of transportation will definitely be more advanced and efficient but much the same as today till that genius invention comes along.

  • People 80 years ago (even in the sixties) were only speculating based on an emotional position.

The people in this video are speculating on todays level of technology and applying it to the future.

nano technology is already here as is bio technology.

  • @bighands69 many thing will be changeing and there can be trillons of things can happen can be possible we can live to a fantasy world

  • @0871356005 tech is been advanceing i can imagine history change to make flying vehicles happen in 2000 it was a cool thought but wat about u wat tech do u want to see thats cool

  • I personaly don't like the idea of a drive itself car. Oops the navigation system was old and it drove off a bridge small glitch. Plus driving is fun why take the fun out of life? Why remove the responsibility of having to do something your self? I can see how it might help a lot of stupid people who can't wipe their own ass or understand green means go and red means stop (and their are a lot fo them) but for inteligent people I don't think automated cars would be fun.

  • All of us alive today owe a great deal to the internal combustion engine... without it we wouldn't be where we are today. Meaning we wouldn't be working towards cleaner more efficient ways of living. I'm fine with living in the woods and hunting/gathering my own food. I call that a vacation. Question is can you live that way? probably not.

  • All they can say is "UM" Why don't we let our future be designed by people that have a frigging clue.

  • By 2088 subterranean construction and Tunnel boring machines will become cheap and automated enough that parking lots will disappear from the landscape entirely. Hypersonic subterranean trains will replace commercial flights.

  • @timepear hey i think it wil be cool wat ur saying is cool and vehicles will like be lighter too and we can drive faster too that speed go up to 456 to 684 mph min can be 124

  • Stupid video. Tell the tool with the dreads to shut up. I'll tell you what's going to happen. By 2030 the cars will drive themselves. As a result of the 100% safety record for computer controlled cars humans will quickly be unable to afford insurance if they want to operate a vehicle themselves. The landscape will change as a result. Instead of seeing big parking lots with stores behind them the walmart or whatever will move up front and the cars will park themselves in the back.

  • @timepear this is not a dumb video but i know soon all fossil fuels will be exhausted meaning gone forever

  • No, it is a dumb video and you need to do more research instead of believing the first fear mongering propaganda you hear.

There is enough oil to last hundreds of years. Even if we run out of oil there is something called "conservation of mass" It means we will always have Hydrogen and carbon to make gasoline with. You can make oil from corn or turkey scraps.

Yes we will stop using gasoline to power cars soon, but not because we run out of oil. Find the other reasons yourself. Stop being lazy.

  • @timepear u know u can say wat u say but idc this is your comment and opinion sorry wat i said too but im random and there can be billions or above a trillion of how the future can be and technology the 21st century is a super century and things are happing fast meaning inventions like power shoes has happen

  • @timepear im glad co2 going out and black oil going exhausted all fossil fuels be gone like in 2015 or 2020

  • @timepear will in the 2020s the vehicles could drive themselfs or sooner too

  • @mquiroz90

You've made four comments to me and not one has been free of grammar mistakes so profound that they make the content of your message almost incomprehensible. You're not intelligent enough to converse with me and I would advise you to spend less time commenting on YouTube and more time doing your homework.

  • this video makes me scared and excited lol .... being eighteen n all :p

  • @TravisRossman77 thsi video makes me very excited and ready for it im 19 i,ll be 20 i hope i,ll be alive wen year 2088 comes i,ll be 97 by than

  • I completely agree. Car will become horizontal elevators. Plus the severe decreesing need for commute, will be the end of the automobile culture. Explosion engines will become expensive collective article, as old telephone machines are nowadays. The question is: how will be our cities designed on these conditions?

  • @yam653 the cites be very different and soon they can self build and ppl wont need vehicles too to drive and hope to money wont exist anymore too but im so excited for the tech and how everything will be and no more elevators with cables i can think of anything i wrote it down in my book too

  • How do you generate large quantities of power? Nuclear

  • @AgentFour wat u mean like it can be use in cities and vehicles and towns everywhere that it oh can i can imagine there can be underground city like about 679 miles down

  • ive visited the site and watched the video on there, but is there no where were I can simply download just the song from the video in the opening or at the end of the video?

  • where can i find this music!??!

  • QDepartment. com

    Music by Q Department

  • where the heck can I find the music from this video?!?!

  • I would like you to sponsor my TV show....

  • das isn fake!!!!!

    das ist NICHT Mobility!!!!!!

  • You guys at Honda should have a school teach our children from K-12 about something that is about something vs most stuff we learn today is worthless. I would have done so much better in school myself.

  • @Pittimus84 our government has fucked up our schools hard. I love this country but its falling right into the fucking shit hole....

  • I love Honda and have a big thing for working for a car company when i get older. I really like to work for honda or subaru. These videos, i saw them when they first came out, and now i'm using it for my project at school :)

  • Rei Ayanami @1:14 on the billboard (center character). Damn, the anime is still going strong.

  • I should probably say that the music is inspiring, much as the video's content is inspiring as well.

  • What's the name of the music in this video? It's excellent and very comforting.

  • Erm.. his hair?

    My only comment, LOL.

  • Great commercial, BUY HONDA!! lol

Mobility 2088, and the message is: We can't live without cars???

    WAKE UP!!!

Dream the impossible?? Autopilot? That's it?? Honda, you'd better reinvent yourself if you still wanna be there in 80 years! That's dreaming the impossible!

No need to go to the moon to produce sustainable energy, not yet! And when we'll have plenty of green energy, then you should hire a visionary teenager without a driving license to reshape your company, your cities, and our future!

  • this is a great video - such wonderful ideas about thinking towards the future - its like unbridled imagination. I love it! I put in on my new Honda blog HONDApedia (.ca)

  • The Internal Combustion Engine can be converted to run off Hydrogen gas! check iceland's hydrogen economy

  • you can take water and make browinian gas to be burned in your car, you just have it go through the air intake, and you will get more horsepower (sorry for any bad spelling, opera has no spell check)

  • 1}say yo 10 timez

2}say yo mamaz name 5 timez

3}say yo crushez name 3 timez

4}do all these things and post the same words to 4 other videos ur crush will kiss u on the nearest friday!but if u do thiz and dont post it then ur gonna have bad luck an yo daddy gonna loze hiz job.

  • This is the most ghetto-fabulous spam quote I've ever seen.

  • been there dune that no body wanted to use magnetic impulse drive its posted on my site and it worked it was simple it was built here in georgia

  • you know unlocking time, space and gravity could be warp drive...a synthetic deminsion ???

  • pretty cool stuff, I like the guy that suggest WALKING.

  • Very thought provoking video.

  • hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Actually, the speed of light in the equation e=mc2, is listed as "c" because it is the only constant in the universe. This means that light can only be viewed at one speed, regardless of the speed or direction of the observer. When you're traveling in your car at 60mph, if the car in front of you is traveling at 65 mph, you observe the car traveling away from you at 5mph. This is normal. However, Light can only be observed at one speed no matter how fast you are traveling! Strange, but true!

  • Teleportation is primitive today with us only being able to teleport...atoms. Personally I think faster that light travel will be possible(working on it) in the future.

  • Faster than light speed is never possible. This is one the principle whtich is the foundation of Einstein's Relativity theory.

  • SCIENCE FAIL! he never said it was impossible he said that matter that goes faster than the speed of light would turn into energy! O. O

  • That's just plain wrong. Einstein's Relativity theory in no way states that matter can travel faster or even as fast as the speed of light. You just don't understand relativity theory. But, most people don't.

  • yes and one of them is you: check your facts my frined

  • I have. Trust me. I don't have time to argue with ignorant fools. Have a nice day.

  • I bet you are an 8 year old trying to act smart O. O jp, and thank you I will have a nice day.... :)

  • You are wrong again (of course). I am 30 and I have a Phd. in Physics from Princeton Unviersity.

  • ohhh crap... have I been wrong all these years? Well since it is a man with a Phd. from Princeton he must be right :/

  • Well, now you're learning... hopefully.

  • @CoolPsTuts many things can be poss i think of force fields happen

  • Wait a second, seriously? I thought that's what the e=mc² meant. That once mass (m) was accelerated past the speed of light (c) ... poof, energy. Or maybe there's a zap... i dunno...

  • @wyomingrailfan wat about people to teleport like to cites and states or anywhere

  • the dude at 6:54 looks like the kid on meet the robinsons

  • Anyone who is impressed by this video is a fool! Playing cool electronic music against people's speculations about what things wiil be like in 80 years is not interesting at all. I think Honda meant this to be a spoof, anyway. Don't you pople realize that Christopher Guest is a satirist?

  • I take it you're not aware of how many great minds of the world gave input into this video.

  • "Great" is a relative and subjective term. If you like it, then that's cool with me.

  • Orson Scott Card!

  • after you take care of your munchies

    check out my videos

    thanks

  • Simply amazing. Great video.

  • BUY AMERICAN

  • not an option for smart people...unless, of course, you'd like a death trap that falls apart as your go down the road. (corvette being an exception for its excellent engine and trany)

  • Too bad not everyone can afford one.

  • Oil bla bla bla al gore bla bla bla stupid hippies I thought this was a video about mobility!

  • Wow. Just one of the big questions that will be in my head untill the day I die.

  • TBustah you DONT have to seperate the hydrogen cells to get the energy from them, and you do not want to that is why when you use it all that is left over is water

  • this is the best video EVER!!!

  • @bricwashere yep it is think very very big like there can be trillions of things can happen in the 21st century til the 22nd century comes

  • I find a lot of the ideas to be a bit extreme...unlocking gravity...just the idea is mind-boggling.

  • What they DON'T tell you about these overhyped hydrogen cells is that pure hydrogen is rare.

Most of the hydrogen in the universe is bonded to oxygen in the form of water. It takes a more energy to seperate the hydrogen from the oxygen than a fuel cell can generate by combining the two.

  • Im good with the whole eco cards, i would still want to have a gas car on the side so you can get that good ole rev, lol gotta have the sound in a nice car

  • But what if we can produce the same amount of power through an alternative source that is less harmful to the environment. A 10sec car is still a 10sec car, so what if what's under the hood is also non-destructive to the environment. It's time to move on to the next technology. We only got one earth.

  • yeah but the whole worlds not gonna transform all at one, but yeah you can change i will to, lol but im just saying im gonna have me a fast classic combustion engine car sitting of to the side, like a Aston or ferrari, keeping it no matter wat people tell me

  • Why even have cars? why have anything...

It ruins our planets, and I don't want to die on a hot planet because I am only 14, and I have dreams. I don't want to become a toast from all the emissions that will lead to even hotter temperatures.

  • Trust me, it won't come to that.

  • It would be great to do so for public transportation and have the elderly have automated vehicles.Well every one has a lot of thought on mobility but its not what they are saying now...

  • I do believe in better ways to get sources of power from other than gasoline. But why would you take the fun and the purpose of having your own vehicle?I rally don't believe that we will have automated cars,No one would go with it but the people who are just too lazy to actually drive five minutes away from where ever they're at.That would be ridiculous to take that away from the people that love to drive,Honda is my favorite Engine maker but Why would you destroy what took so long to build.

  • @mangerra2 wat your saying is worry but it will come vehicles be different and cites many things automated will come

  • this is really inspiring. but touching up on the auto pilot car, i really don't see it working at all. people have freedom of choice here. and i know that i will like to have the freedom to drive my car and drive it anywhere i want in whatever way i want. i don't see this group of people like me being able to be on the road with these computer drivers that are programmed to do things.

    food for thought.

  • Orson Scott Card rocks. He predicted the global force of the internet in the mid 80's. He's part of a small group of people I really believe understand what the future can be.

  • Seconded!

  • Thirded. Don't forget he invented laser tag.

  • World will end in 80 years .... but ... like the guy said ... levetation will be possible soon . Very soon ,,,,

  • I disagree that the combustion engine and petroleum are a mistake. They are what allow us to have the civilization we have today. 80 years from today, we will travel by horseless, fossil-fuel-free carriages. They will be more frictionless than now, with less volume used for propulsion. Look back 80 years, and 80 before that, and then project forward.

  • forget cars, lets ride bicycles. I'm serious

  • It's just so hard to get my small children over the mountains to visit their grandmother using only bicycles.

  • well she could move to your side of the mountain or you could move to hers. :)

  • Move with what? bicycles?

  • good question. a trycycle could be used with a trailer to haul stuff . The trike could be driven by three or more people

  • @Juands10 only if the bicycles have engines on them

  • @kyleisreallycool that or try flying or hovering it can be digital

  • @Juands10 I agree, either small portable mopeds, lightweight bicycles and walking. Forget large hunks of metal that crash into each other and destroy the atmosphere.

  • @Juands10 that would never happen i know there be flying vehicles and there can be hover bicycles and somehow fly too

  • @mquiroz90 who knows i got a feeling that vehicles will run on plasma soon any thing can be possible and cans can go digital and homes be more digital and books too and lighters anything can be digital like i seen a digital cafe not gunna lie on that i seen it

  • check out my Atlanta video

  • I was reading about hydrogen cell for fuel the other day, it really good idea. I like the way other people laugh at it cause thats how most great new technologys start. We need an alternate fuel source, hydrogen creating electricity seems like the logical the way to go.

  • Wonderfull video :)

    Thank you for posting.

The future is what you make it.

Right now is when you will begin.

  • Add a hd version please.

  • I love how the film director, not the scientist, said that the internal combustion engine was a bad idea. Those are the words of a fool. Maybe he would prefer that we had no cars and therefore had no way of traveling outside the crowded cities of the turn of the century. I wonder if he is a fan of tenement housing, too.

  • wow this video is too funny haha. but i really like this video. this should be put in one of my favorites list haha but cool!

  • This video is a good idea to modivate people, but I bet maybe one out of all those people have an environmental car. Probably a hybrid that still uses petrol.

  • I am still a little confused on this video. It makes me laugh though. haha! Youtube= freedom of the videos... haha, gotta love it.

  • MUITO bom ^^
