I want to add one 2:1 mux instead of OR gate at the end....if we add then wht about the select line of 2:1 mux......how can i write the output when i am considering the select line of 2:1 mux including other two mux as well..............Plz reply..its urgent

Excellent question. I'm going from memory but I think the video lecture has a 3 bit counter with 8 different positions? So if we extended this to a 4 bit address it would allow us 16 different positions. Extend it again to 5 bits and we're now allowed 32 different positions.
Now, here's a good exercise ... what if you had 50 different positions? How many address bits would you need? Well our 5 bit address wouldn't cut it anymore and we'd have to go to 6 bits which would allow us 64 different positions. It would just have a bunch of unassigned addresses that could be used if you were ever to expand the system. Make sense?
