  • very good

  • Would you mind to reupload this one with a better qualitiy? 240p really kills the sound.

  • @SeltsamerAttraktor sry.. this isn't mine... it was originally from from junkbondtrader before the site was torn down yrs back.

  • @hserokdivad that guy had some great videos!

  • But where's Ringo?

  • i dont think anyone in the crowd knew the song bummer

  • @fromthenorthwest You would think a NYC crowd would know a damn Beatles song.

  • Quite good! Fine job!

  • Holy crap. Amazing...that's all I have to say...

  • in the beginning some guy yells out "ANGELES!" yeahhh.. play that on an electric guitar elliott... oh lordy.

  • I love that he liked covering all these great songs.

Luckily I have the similar taste to his. What a life ...what a sudden loss. Where are those possible unwritten songs of him, all of them that are waiting to be written who knows by who..

    anyway

    What exactly is a dream

    what exactly is a joke

  • What's the point of comparing anyone to anyone? Whether it's Elliott, Nick Drake, or Lennon, they all have talent that's unique to their being. Lennon was revolutionary for his role in society which reflected in his music. Nick Drake and Elliott express deep emotion in their music which is a reflection on their own unique personal experiences. Please try to see them for who they are rather then comparing their commonalities or differences..

  • @hserokdivad George Harrison actually wrote "I Me Mine" not John Lennon....so the comparrison should be between Harrison and this guy!

  • @tayizme My comment was in response to all the other commenters comparing his overall skills to lennon and nick drake.

  • @tayizme this is correct. I also believe that Lennon wasn't even in the studio at the time this was made.

  • @hserokdivad Sorry, I just gotta throw a grenade in the house-fire.. JEFF BUCKLEY!! haha continue previous spat..

  • @hserokdivad George Harrison was one of Smith's biggest influences. You can tell it songwriting wise.

  • @hserokdivad You said it. Perfect,

  • Amazing, amazing talent.

  • totally "Georgeus"!

  • He did it great but I still like georges better

  • Elliott was always my favorite Beatle...

  • I just got chills. Wow

  • wow....amazing , I love him so much more for all his awesome beatles covers , beatles are my favorite band

  • F-IN GREAT LOVED IT !!!!!

  • AmaaaaaZING.

  • impecable

  • Uno de mis cantantes favoritos versionando un tema de mi banda favorita... Esto es orgásmico.

  • Yeah he really can't help but put his style into it. This one is acually more straight forward than other covers. So nice.

  • Amazing how original he is yet covering other peoples songs.

  • get outta here hater. People cover songs live. Go to a concert once in a while...

  • You completely misunderstand. I love what he's doing.

  • Just got real tingly.

  • so amazing.

  • wow he's sexy

  • Of course, I find a video of Elliott Smith covering a beatles song impeccably, and you comment on it..

That's a good thing by the way, and yes, I agree.

  • This is perfect.

  • Elliott is totally a George.

  • Yeap. There's this frailty about both of there voices that's very charming.

  • @rxlover except a million billion fo-fillion times better.

  • good thing they are.

  • i used to consider bob dylan and nick drake as my number one but now they slid to number 2 while elliott smith is number 1. i don't mean to diss them just alot of the songs elliott wrote fits my life like jigsaw puzzle. and he's the only musician i can trully say i relate to almost 100%... I wish he was alive so i can thank him for the major changes in my life RIP

  • that is kinda funny those where elliott's 2nd favorite artist, his favorite where the beatles and they where his insperation to start playing

  • touching. what kind of changes?

  • @junkbondtrader91

for me Nick Drake aways are the number one...

elliott and Tim buckley run fast behind...

  • Again brilliant. Wonderful. Transcendent.

  • I saw him do this in l.a. on the figure 8 tour, grandaddy opened the show . two nights back to back . he was truly great.

  • I love Every Beatles Song... But George also has his masterpieces, Beside John and paul... I love his songs... Great Job at this cover...

  • The opening riff is spine tingling.

  • awesome

    ELLIOTT LIVES

  • vals ritm

  • this cover kicks ass. brighteyes has nothing on elliott smith. no one does really. def not nick drake. no one. Elliott smith is a fucking brilliant songwriter and musician. So pure, almost classical. no one has shit on Elliott man. I just wanted to let all you indie punk posers know HAIL ELLIOTT SMITH

  • elliott is my hero. but nick drake was also a genius dude. to dismiss him with "definitely not nick drake" is quite harsh.

  • Yeah no reason to diss nick drake.

  • @aulrich

nick drake is just as good as elliott smith or maybe better :p

  • @aulrich Nick Drake is better in my opinion

  • @aulrich Nick Drake is better in my opinion

  • @aulrich Elliot would obviously highly disagree with this statement. No doubt.

  • @aulrich

    word!

  • @aulrich Fuck yeah mate :)

  • Oh this is so great! :)

  • Brilliant. Breaks my heart.

  • Let It Be + Elliott Smith =pure awesomeness

  • elliott is like john lennon and kurt cobain put together but better

  • i love this song, and i love elliott too. i think that everybody miss him, thanks for this video.

we miss you elliott, without you, "everything means nothing to us"

    -k4rn4z4s-

  • Thanks for this. One of my favorite singer/songwriters of all time singing what I think is a highly underrated song from The Beatles.

  • this is fuckin awsome

  • thanks

  • the first time i heard from a basement on a hill.

i immediatley thought it sounded like the sargeant peppers cd.

    i love u elliot.

    come back :(

  • it always amazes me how he can play anything and make it sound so perfect. often better then the original song.

    -peace

  • I heard him do Don't Let Me Down...but it was at his house..def not recorded.

  • Yeah right...

  • its a long shot but i would absolutely love to hear an elliott cover of dont let me down but its unlikely that if he preformed it it was videod :(

  • can someone tell be about this elliot guy?! he seems to cover lots of beatles stuff.

  • He's a singer/songwriter who was mostly active in the mid to late 1990s. He suffered from alcoholism and heroin addiction before taking his own life a few years back (though some would say his death was in suspicious circumstances).

He was a very gifted songwriter in his own right. His work was often compared with Lennon's solo stuff. If you'd like to hear more I'd suggest checking out Either/Or, which I reckon is his best album.

  • You may also go for "From a basement on a hill", beautiful album as well

  • All of his albums are beautiful man.

  • If you like the Beatles, then 'Figure 8' by Elliott Smith is an album you want to hear.

  • I just told somebody that today! Awesome.

  • rip george harrison and elliott smith

    back to earth

  • And I thought only Ray Charles could cover the Beatles. I feel like he should be one of my favorite artists, for some reason though his music just doesn't quite do it for me as much as I might like it to. That sounds weird. I do happen to like his Beatle covers it seems. He could have been a Beatle with his talent.

  • This is a reeeally good cover, i usually dont like beatles covers too much , but this is the exception. RIP E.S

  • love you elliott

    xo

  • This is a great cover. too bad he's gone.

P.s I'm really used to George's voice. it's weird to hear it without his accent.

  • rest in peace, sweet prince.

  • the beatles forever and ever

  • thanks

  • Great quality! Thanks!!

  • He died?

    good cover.

  • ...Yes, he did...

  • brilliant.

that was way better than any

beatles tribute band i have ever heard.

  • Happy B-Day Elliott. We miss you R.I.P

  • I've always felt that Indie music sounds like the George Harrison cuts on the albums ...

  • like "long, long, long" and "circles". those are pretty indie-ish

  • yup!

  • Thanks so much for sharing! Fantastic cover!

  • He sounds eerily like George in some parts. Very good cover.

  • gave me the goosebumps.fantastic.

  • DAMN! FUCKING GOOD!!!!!!!!!

  • ♥♥♥

  • Love It! I am so obsessed with ES!

  • Really great cover! Totally digging it!

  • His loss is as tragic as Lennon's. RIP.

  • actually this was a harrison song. (all three deaths are tragic:()

  • It wasent even a Lennon song, it was Harrison.

  • @internetjessica he'd be so thrilled to know people compared him to Lennon.

  • @internetjessica

    Not quite.

  • I ME ME MINE! - cool video .. pretty tight cover

  • great

  • jizz jizz jizzz.... i've heard this before, but never saw this live. thank you very much! this makes me very happy.

  • Great version! R.I.P XO

  • mmm, where are the little solos? I like this version, but it's incomplete

  • I didn't see a second guitar player, might have been kind of hard for him to do both.

  • bkn la wea
